There is really limited options for a vegan but she really made us all feel welcome and included. She is a wealth of knowledge on history and culture of Cartagena and makes the information fun and engaging. I really couldn't recommend the tour more. It's way more than just a food tour!

Elizabeth Grewe: Had the best experiences with Cartagena Connections! They set us up with a coffee tasting at Cafe Del Mural that completely changed how we thought about coffee. Unforgettable, delicious, very educational. Then we did a market tour with Dan, he was so friendly and knew the maze of the alleys and stalls well. Definitely go with a guide. Dan had great vibes and helped us buy produce. He made sure we got to try local juice and fruit and surprised us with a souvenir at the end, a customized poster from a local artist. Communication with March at CC before, during and after the experiences was friendly, responsive and helpful. Recommend working with them for all sightseeing and touristic needs!

peter lin: Luis and his daughter Maria runs the ranch. We love their passion and energy and love for the horses. This was the first time we've seen Paso Fino horses and it was great learning about their history. These horses are very special and unlike any other horses we've ever ridden before. The restaurant they took us to after was very delicious also. Over all one of the best things we've done here in Cartagena.

J.A. Clay: The pickup at our hotel was right on time. Luis and Gustavo drove us to the beautiful finca in Manzanillos where we were taught about the history of the Paso Fino Colombiano horses. The horses looked very well maintained and totally calm an at ease. We got a demonstration of the different paces of different horse breeds, which was very interesting as well. Next, we drove a short bit to a nearby hotel where we got a nice refreshing drink and our caps. The horses were brought there already by two attendants/trainers whom guided us during the whole ride. We had a beautiful ride on the beach, very well guided, also very safe for the horses.It was safe for a first-timer and a third-timer, it went very well after just a short while and with some tips and trics during the ride.It was a perfect tour, absolutely unforgettable. This was originally my wife's idea and I was just along for the ride since I had done horse back riding before. Well by the end I think i might have enjoyed the experience more than my wife! Luis is the very definition of professional. He communicated the day before to make sure that we were prepared for the excursion, he arrived early the next morning to our hotel (which was noteworthy considering some of our other excursions started late) and was a complete gentleman. The day started with us meeting the different horses and getting to know about the history of the Pase Fino horses in Colombia. We also got to feed the horses which was fun and there was a small exhibition where the trainer showed off the horses walking in their natural pase fino gate. A truly remarkable sight! Next we were given water while we listened to Maria's instruction about proper riding technique and important safety tips. Then after gauging our experience and comfort level, Luis helped us pick out horses and we headed to the beach while our horses were prepared. Before riding we stopped at the beautiful beachside hotel and had a refreshing drink. Once the horses were brought to the beach we hopped on and rode down the whole coast of the beach. Along the way we got to enjoy the view of the city in the distance and Luis captured different moments from our ride with pictures and videos. After the long ride we were brought back to the beachside hotel and enjoy one of the best meals that we had throughout our entire stay. Definitely would suggest going with one of the entrée options Luis recommends. You won't be disappointed! Afterwards we were able to take some more pictures before Luis and Maria took us back to our hotel. The whole experience lasted around 6 to 7 hours and we enjoyed every minute of it. A truly unforgettable experience and worth every penny! So thanks again Luis and Maria

A lot of cars parked and driving right in front of it, it would be so much nicer if the little street right in front of the structure was a walkable street to make it more tourist friendly. If we decided to walk inside the bóvedas (to avoid the cars) we were faced with people trying to sell us stuff. We just wanted to peacefully walk, admire and take pictures without having to be rude and ignore people or saying “No gracias” every minute. The structures are nice if you already know the history behind it. My boyfriend, who doesn’t really care about history, thought it was boring and dirty. I liked it but could be better preserved.

Jonah Finkel: My partner and I went on 2 Beyond Colombia tours in Cartagena because we weren't there for long. The first tour was the walled city one led by Baurilio, which was fantastic. It was very history-heavy but I thought it was well-delivered and organized. You can tell he is very knowledgeable about Cartagena and its history! Definitely highly recommend his tour. I am only rating it 4 stars because the 2nd tour we did, the Getsemani tour, was quite bad. It was led by Arthur and we did not actually start walking until 45 minutes into the tour. At that point my partner and I were tired and figured it wasn't going to be that great of a tour (we were standing for 45 minutes!), so we left. He was also telling random stories that didn't seem connected or to have a big picture theme/message like Baurilio's did. TLDR: Do Baurilio's walled city tour!

I have been a dance instructor. And I wasn't getting the steps. The instructor...who is very nice...showed us 4 7-count sequence all at once. That was too much to remember! Then, without all of us having the hang of the steps, he went on to add another 7-count with a spin. I walked out. I wasn't having fun and I didn't want to pay for confusion. It felt like the Aunt Viv situation on Fresh Prince of Bel Aire. I'm just in Cartagena to have fun. Not compete at a high-level dance studio. My suggestion is to introduce 1 7-count sequence at a time. Observe if the students have caught on. Then add to it. Go at the pace of the students. No need to rush. I did have fun in the private lesson.

They were endlessly patient and encouraging, and incredibly skilled at unlocking the slight but important little changes to make to help me successfully do the steps.These teachers got me to do moves I never thought I could do. Not all great dancers can teach; these guys (and also Natalia, who taught a great styling lesson) do both brilliantly. And the owner, Esmeralda, was incredibly responsive and flexible with scheduling. She allowed me to schedule according to what my plans were the next day. Reasonably priced, wonderfully taught, Crazy Salsa should be your Cartagena dance home!

Heena Patel: Excellent Salsa class with a bar tour to practice afterwards. My instructor Esteban was amazing. He explained the steps well. We then went to two bars and were joined by another instructor where we practiced what we had learnt and had a few free drinks along the way.My only recommendation would be that it might be good to have a female and male instructor at the bar to help both genders practice.Would definitely recommend this Salsa Tour!

Deregnaucourt Jeremy: I had some courses there.Unfortunately, due to construction work, there was no way to have group class.There was a misunderstanding with the administrative assistant about the price. With 5 individual lessons taken, you got a 6th one free.Since I paid them individually, she declined this offer. I would have appreciated more flexibility as the credit cash machine was not functioning and I was keen to pay everything with my card.Also, this same person gave me my last course. I did not feel in confidence with her. She was judgy, having an attitude that does not favor to be relaxed.Despite that, I had Ruben, and this guy is incredible. A great teacher and a very funny guy! Go ahead with him without any concern :)

The hour class always pass by too quickly because it's so fun! Highly recommend Crazy Salsa in Cartagena! Hope to come back and continue the lessons with Mauricio in the future :)
