Yiwen Wang: Our photoshoot with Carlos was an unexpected success. I researched so many photographers on Instagram, couldn’t find one I like. Many unpleasant experience with some unprofessional photographers at other places we traveled to. I was a little bit skeptical and hesitating before he arrives, but as soon as he entered our hotel, and started to take photos. It only took us a few minutes to relax and enjoy the shooting session. He is very familiar with Cartagena, made him knowing where are their artistic angles. Also, he is very communicative and cheerful. Good photos take lighting, timing, framing and angle. Javier G. Santos: Mixed feelings. The place is living history. In what is now a souvenir shop, you can see the impacts of English muskets. You sit in watchtowers where Blas de Lezo himself designed the defense of Cartagena and, therefore, access to current Latin America from the English invaders. You can look at the sea from the fort defense quote supposed that today the entire south of that continent is Latin and not just another British colony. There, 2,300 Spaniards broke 24,000 English, assuming the end of the English hegemony of the seas... But... It is so full of stupid tourists, taking pictures in every corner, climbing historic canyons that they are forbidden to climb. .. In short, if you are a lover of history, it is a must. But you have to go at noon, when the horde of tourists is crammed. Otherwise, you feel too sorry for what those brave men gave their lives to defend.

Gillian Evans: We were a little apprehensive on what the tour would be like as never been to Columbia before but as soon as we saw Gustavo we could see what a pleasant young man he was.He gave us a very informative, animated and amusing tour. We also love meeting the story behind the locals we meet . Gustavo had such great interpersonal skills we assumed he was born into a privileged family. Not so. he has obviously worked hard, completing a history degree and wants to have a career in tourism. Heartwarming to see a young man with ambition and his mum and grandmother must be very proud of him.The only tip I would give the company is to tell customers on booking they should only pay $10.00 for a taxi ride from the cruise ship and have the right money as they don’t have change (Gustavo told us after we paid $25.00) and that the square to meet is through the yellow clock tower as when we first arrived it was a bit bewildering as you do get hassled by others in the town and not speaking the language difficult to get directions.Thank you for a great tour and woukd have tipped more than the $40.00 had we not paid so much for a taxi!

Anna Arutyunova: It was a great experience! We received a very good training in the pool before diving in the sea, the views were beautiful: big fish, coral reefs - like wooow! And the team was so nice and kind! They even took great photos of us! However, I got really scared in one moment. Lots of water went into my glasses and I couldn’t see anything. So I had to go up to the surface from the bottom. Honestly I was very scared when it happened because it’s prohibited to move up or down quickly but I couldn’t control that when it happened. I wish somebody helped me in that moment🙏

I traveled solo to the Rosario islands.All the staff was extremely friendly, they picked me up from my hotel and drop me there afterwards. They even took pictures and videos during the dive without additional costs!! (In other countries they have charged me quite a bit, and per person). Special thanks to Junior for this :)The instructions were in English but also Juan took the time to translate to Spanish and always making sure that everyone in the group was following. They work in small groups so it feels cozy.They explained us what to expect beforehand and had the patience to show us the diversity of the corals in the Rosario National Park.Something that I love is that while diving with them, we are contributing to the conservation initiatives of corals, they promote ecotourism working directly with local communities, and they are part of the program of adaptive scuba for people with disabilities. Highly recommended!!

Dive master Juan took us on an exciting night dive and showed us a lot of fish, crustaceans and the bioluminescent plankton. His calm and competent nature made this an unforgettable experience.Bonus fact: part of the $$ go into a project of Diving Planet to offer scuba diving for handicapped persons as part of their rehabilitation.

felipe niño: Pretty amaizing experience. Comunication was perfect. Pick up was perfect travel to the island in order. The diving itself was amazing, we went to Isla Grande, not that many fish but hust seeing the corals was amazing, so many different shapes and colors are beautiful to see. The team and diving guide LEA was super friendly and very helpful. The island itself was so amazing to bad we couldnt stay there longer.

But the night dive was incredible! They pick you up and drop you off at your hotel and we were able to watch the sunset out on the water before the night dive. c brown: My Diving Planet divemaster lost me on the dive. This is one of the most serious failures of a dive master. As a result, I was floating in the ocean alone without anyone. I was unable to swim against the current. My life was in danger and I was very worried. In addition, my divemaster did not check my dive belt weights and I was not able to submerge. Our return boat ride back from the Rosario Islands to Cartagena was brutal. If you have a bad back, do NOT take this Rosario Islands dive or snorkel because the boat ride will exacerbate your back pain. While having the opportunity to drive in the wake of another boat to smooth out the ride, the boat driver did not do so.Booked through Cartagena Concierge. They will not help you.

John McA: I had an absolutely fantastic day diving with Diving Planet Cartagena. You need to do this. I entered their office and booked a day of scuba diving for the following day. The employees were very helpful and informative. English was spoken. Later that evening I received a message letting know where we were to meet.It took about 1 hour to take their boat from Cartagena to their resort on the Rosario Islands. There we received our gear and a talk about our day ahead. The gear was new. My bc and mask worked great. Our two dives averaged 12-15 meters depth and approxately 40 minutes each. We drifted one reef and circled a second reef. Plenty of fish to be seen. My dive master Leia was knowledgeable and attentive.They served a wonderful lunch afterwards at the resort. Very tasty with a choice for vegetarians/vegans too.If I had the time I'd have gone the next day too.

Ralph N: The first step when you get to Cartagena so you can get your grounding. I recommend the tours to the old Town and to Getsemani. It might be very hot so I recommend bringing your own water and shade. I personally like the umbrella, very practical. Keep in mind that it's not exactly free, you're expected to pay a tip at the end of the tour.
Manja Huijs: The tour with Jesus was fun, informative and not a boring monologue ;-) I recommend taking the tour on your first day in Cartagena since we got some good tips about where to eat and go for nightlife. Jesus speaks very good English and during the tour he will try to teach you some Spanish :-) We took the Old city and Getsemani tour and it was a good introduction to the city. We enjoyed!
tom norton: We did two tours with Ellis; she was too much fun not to see again! Her English was perfect and her enthusiasm literally had us coming back for more. The tour of the walled city went to all the best views, and the tour of Getsemani was lots of fun; she got us singing and dancing through the streets. We’ve done walking tours all through South America, but Ellis was far and away the best guide. STRONGLY recommend!

Shanelle S: Free walking tour with various neighborhood options. Did the one of Old Town on the Friday after we had arrived, and it was a good way to get acquainted with the city. There are English and Spanish speaking tours available. We did the afternoon tour that was two hours (from 4pm-6pm). We had Elis as our tour guide, and she was amazing. She was super personable and very knowledgeable about the city’s history.It’s best to wear comfortable shoes and to bring sunglasses/water/sunscreen for the tour. You see a lot of the city as well start from Plaza Santa Theresa, where they’ll meet you with a yellow umbrella.
