Soma Yoga Cartagena: what do users think?
Shea Frederick: I contacted Sol to host a private class for my birthday. Her class was the perfect way to start my day. Super kind and a great teacher! I highly recommend her if you’re in Cartagena! Thank you, Sol! 💜
Jeff Parsons: Sol is well-named! She brightened up my yoga soul!I wish she was teaching more classes each day; I would take them all!Thank you, Sol! I hope you get to walk the Camino and climb Angel's landing in Zion NP.Sun is aptly named! She brightened my yoga soul!I wish she was teaching more classes every day; I would take them all!Thank you Sun! I hope you can hike the Camino and climb Angel's Landing at Zion NP.
Jennifer Cruz: I had the opportunity to have one yoga session with Sol and the only thing I regret is that I could not stay longer in the city to have some extra sessions with her. One of the best instructors I've ever had!
Joshua Stega: Studio was a little hard to find as it is located in the courtyard behind Juan Valdez coffee shop. The vinyasa class was great, well instructed in both english and espanol. The studio is small but well setup (pretty full with 6 people). Enjoyable class, I will be back.
Corynne Lurie: I did the 3 day retreat with my Mom. I cannot say enough positive things about this experience! The island was beautiful, communication was amazing beforehand and we had the most relaxing time. Our instructor, Sol, was a fabulous teacher. The meals provided by Ligia were fabulous. The house and bedroom view was amazing, as was seeing all the animals in the Oceanario!! If you are looking to rejuvenate and feel refreshed, I highly recommend this retreat!
Alan Kollins: Nice intimate studio, easily accessible by bus. took one vinyasa class while visiting Cartegena. Sol lead a fantastic class, leading through major postures and a few unique variations. She is willing to instruct in english for gringos. Highly recommended!note: there is no street signage. you'll need to head inside via a lobbythat splits two restaurants.
the finder: Just amazing, Sol was a great teacher! Drop in is allowed but drop an email to let her know
martin Masser: An amazing lesson, Sol was such a great teacher, one of the best I've had. Really knowledgeable and very clear (both Spanish and English) If you are getting a taxi from the old town best to tell them to head for the KFC, it's 7k cop.I highly recommend it, if you are into your yogaSol even waited with me until my taxi came - couldn't ask for a better teacher! Just wish I was having more lessons
Tess Oriol: Fabiana and Sol are fantastic. I came to Cartagena as an expat looking for yoga classes and I couldn't have been more lucky. I have been receiving classes from Fabiana for more than a year and I feel that I have learned so much... Her classes are always different, special, and she knows how to take care of each one of us. He knows us and helps us. Sol has taught my daughter classes and has taught her to love yoga since she was a child. Always grateful. Happy to have found them. Namaste 🙏🏻
Marianella Manzur: Soma Yoga Cartagena has been a life changing experience. Sol and Fabiana were not only incredible hosts, but also great professional yoga teachers. The opportunity of being on an island in the caribbean plus the mindful experience of yoga exceeded all my expectations. I would go once a year if I could and I would highly recommend this retreat to everyone! Visit them and see for yourself. ;)
BMCinCTG: Fabiana & Sol are the dream team! Their different backgrounds and teaching methods compliment each other 100% and let you experience a yoga journey unlike any other! Both of them guide you through the class(es) and you’ll find yourself spiritually, physically and emotionally inspired, challenged and in places you didn’t know your mind, body and soul could reach.💛

Jay Clemmey: The Sanctuary takes you through the history of San Pedro Claver who dedicated most of his life to evangelizing slaves in Cartagena during the 1600’s. He was canonized as a saint in 1888 by Pope Leo XIII.You can spend a good hour or so touring the church, garden, artwork, and the rooms where Claver lived and worked. Highly recommend a visit if you’re in Cartagena.

Jorge Barrozo: Good
Alessio Astolfi: I had the chance to visit the Santuario de San Pedro Claver during a trip to Cartagena, Colombia, some ten years ago, and it was definitely an incredible experience. I am a person who has a great love for history and culture, therefore I was very taken aback by this sanctuary's significant past.In the centre of Cartagena's historic area, the Santuario de San Pedro Claver is a beautifully maintained Jesuit church and convent from the 17th century. It bears the name of Saint Peter Claver, a Jesuit priest of Spanish descent who dedicated his life to assisting slaves who were taken from Africa to Cartagena. The sanctuary provided these slaves with food, shelter, and medical attention while acting as a haven for them during a trying moment in history. It was a significant symbol of compassion and hope. The Santuario de San Pedro Claver's architecture is extremely stunning. The facade's exquisite detailing and elaborate designs are evidence of the architects' and artisans' expertise and craftsmanship. The sanctuary's interior is as breathtaking, featuring magnificent murals, pieces of art, and sculptures that depict Saint Peter Claver and his contributions to humankind. The opportunity to view Saint Peter Claver's relics, which are stored in a small room inside the sanctuary, was one of the pleasures of my trip. The saint's skull and bones are among the relics, which serve as a potent reminder of the sacrifices he made during his life and the influence he had on countless others.Overall, anyone with an interest in history, culture, or spirituality should definitely pay a visit to the Santuario de San Pedro Claver. Everyone who visits will undoubtedly have a lasting impression of this absolutely exceptional and inspirational location.
Sebastian Fürst Fotografie - Hochzeitsfotograf: What a beautiful church and place ❤️❤️❤️
Walberto Martinez: His story is very beautiful and perfect to enrich your faith
Laelia Milleri Photography: Check the opening time before you go. On the day when we were there the church was closed until the evening, so unfortunately I didn't get to see it inside. Enjoyed watching the busy and lively area surrounding it.
TheFABYMARC: Excellent place to listen to the Eucharist, it is super fresh, spacious and I love the preaching of the priest, apart from its architecture it is worth admiring, I like the mass at 12, since afterward I can have a coffee and walk the streets of the historic center, they are a bit empty at that time

Centro Catalina Spanish School: what do users think?
Nicole Chacon: Centro Catalina is a place where everything is done with passion and love. The team strives to give their best every day. Not only Spanish is taught, Colombian culture is also lived with many activities to guarantee an authentic experience beyond conventional tourism. Learning Spanish in cultural immersion guarantees rapid learning of the language. Colombian Spanish is considered by many to be the best to learn. The cities of Medellín and Cartagena are charming and allow an experience in very diverse contexts and regions, between the Caribbean and the Andes.
Camilo Ramirez: Great school, I learned a lot from you. I hope I can come back soon
Valérie Roy: Thanks for everything! cool experience
Lukas Niemeier: Great school. Perfectly organized with very skilled teachers, good equipment and a lot of fun during classes. I went for 30h/week for two weeks. One in Medellin and one in Cartagena. The Different knowledge levels of the students were taken into account and the groups built fit well together. Thanks again for a great time!
Gaby Sierra: Excellent!
Laura Liszewski: Really nice experience in this school, recommend!
Tom Lovett: I cannot recommend this school enough. I am absolutely amazed that. I'm able to have spontaneous conversations with locals about a host of topics, considering I only did four weeks of classes, starting from zero. I was worried that doing well in classes wouldn't carry over to the real world, but that has not been the case at all.The classes themselves were really enjoyable. My teachers were great, the other students were great. We cracked plenty of jokes while still learning new grammar and vocabulary. The school was very helpful when it came to logistics as well. I literally enrolled on a Friday afternoon for Monday morning classes. Also, the school allowed me to print documents and received a package for me.Cannot recommend this school highly enough.
Laura Shadley: Had a wonderful experience at Centro Catalina - Cartagena. The instructors and staff were outgoing and helpful. School always flew by because it was so much fun. I was nervous to speak with people in Spanish, but I gained a lot of confidence while I was there! The school organized a lot of fun activities that allowed you to experience more of the city. They also organized a trip to Isla Grande on the weekend, which was incredible! I stayed with an awesome host family very close to the school. I can't say enough good things!
Dario Paolillo Mendoza: Super escuela, Muchas gracias, thanks a lot for the great time! The support, activities, treatment and personal are fantastic. Colombia and the School has stolen my heart and they are like a second home and like a Family. May God always bless you in Name of Jesus! Bendiciones mi gente bella
Jim C.: I had a great time a Centro Catalina. The school is located in the historic center of Cartagena, with lots of restaurants, shops and sights in a short walking distance.Teachers and staff are just awesome and made my stay a unique and special experience. Everybody is super friendly and helpful. All in all a great experience, defenitely a school that I can recommend.
lisa muzzin: This is a great place to learn or improve your Spanish. Not only are the teachers and classes of top quality but there are free events most days as well. This helps you to get to know other students and the city and to practice your spanish even more. I really enjoyed my time here. Thanks everyone!
Max N: Great Experience
Yanis GUIGNOUNE: Une école totalement a l’écoute de nos besoin et le tout avec le sourire. Une ambiance géniale du début à la fin. je recommande vivement cette école.
Loris Contro: I spent 6 FUNtastic weeks learning Spanish and everything I could about the Colombian heritage and culture at Centro Catalina, and would have spent a lot more than that if I had had more time. The teachers, facilities, customer service, extra activities and anybody who works in there with great passion: everything was excellent! I attended both schools in Medellin and Cartagena, and I strongly recommend them.
William Zarb: C'est une super école les cours sont très bien organisés , les professeurs sont géniaux. Il y a beaucoup d'activités qui sont organisés chaque jour .
Thomas Augsten: School was great fun, wonderful staff, and evening as well as weekend activities are organized. Stayed for a 1-week elementary course and would come back. Also limited number of affordable rental rooms available in a safe neighborhood.
Emeline Flores: Une super école pour apprendre l'espagnol ! Une super ambiance entre les élèves et les professeurs :)
HAMOOD AL TOQI: Great school great stuff the best experience to learn Spanish highly recommend
Caleb Solofra: Great school! Classes allowed me to dig deep into not only the language but also the culture of Medellín. I have traveled a lot, and this school is the most friendly and made me most comfortable. Here’s a list of other great things:-provided a fantastic host family-top notch classes-good location in Medellín (lots to do)-optional evening activity provided each day (like a movie, salsa classes, etc)-clean facility
Brian Eaten: Perfect Spanish school for a perfect experience. S/o to David
Danny Lee: I truly can recommend centro catalina for every person who wants to learn spanish - doesnt matter which level you have! The facilities, the staff, the teachers and the way they teach are top notch! Every day they have an activity for the afternoon and also for the weekends, like salsa class, movies, city- or graffiti-tours, etc. Also the school is in the middle of centeo historico and so you can find many restaurants, bars and shops just next to it! On this point i want to say MUCHAS GRACIAS to all of the staff, especially to David, who is an amazing "papi"!! All of you, keep going the way you do!! Mucho gusto.. jackie! ;)

Palace of the Inquisition Cartagena Historical Museum: what do users think?
Janin Mei: The museum is very beautiful and informative. I went with a friend who doesn't speak Spanish and for her it was very boring because almost nothing is translated into English. Also, it doesn't take long to explore it- if you speak Spanish I recommend it.
Juan Diego Molina Montoya: The place preserves the nostalgia that only the passage of time can give to a place with so many years reflected on its walls.
Fáber Alexánder Gallego Obando: Nothing to do with the space that was one day. There is no guide service, closed rooms. It doesn't justify paying for what little it offers.
Chris Korpuze: Good little museum with the history of cartagena. Just a few translate in English. Cool to spent a hour their.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Not sure …More
Hugo Amigo: Know part of history! Religion is the man looking for God. Christianity is the story of a Deus of love that seeks to repay the home. The inquisition is an inferno raised by men who say they act in the name of God. Conheça a Cristo somente, ele é a Porta e o Caminho aos ceus.COMPLAINTIt was usually done anonymously, orally or in writing. It was the process in which the validity of thecomplaint, investigating to see if there were meritsenough to prosecute the defendant.QUALIFICATIONMoment in which the defendant was informed that he waswould initiate a process against him, This occurred in twoforms: Inquisitio Specialeis and the Inquisitio Generalis;in the first, individually the parish priest of thetown of the defendant took the summons to hishome, for the suspect to turn himself in forimprisoned. The second, in the absence of adetermined suspect, consisted of promulgating thecall in a space where there could beheretics, to give themselves up.CITATIONHe wanted the defendant to acknowledge that he wascommitting a crime against faith. The procedurewas in secret and was carried out in the presence of tworeligious, the notary and the inquisitorial judgeINTERROGATIONIf the prisoner did not confess during the interrogation, the procedure wasto the application of torture, under the premise that thetruth extorted through torture is validTORMENTJUDGMENTIt occurred if the prisoner resisted despite the torment and thecourt came to establish guilt.
Mari C: Museu impactante e recomendo pra todos que queiram saber mais sobre os absurdos da inquisição! Eu fui com expectativas baixas, mas valeu MUITO a visita.
Stephanie P. G.: I went on a Sunday in June/2023, the adult ticket is $23,000, there are three floors and it does not have an elevator, so it is an issue to take into account if your health does not allow you to climb stairs. The building has been restored and is beautiful, on the first floor are the exhibitions on the inquisition and human rights, a cool audiovisual recreating what it was like to blame and "prosecute" someone. On the second and third floors, it is related to the history of Cartagena. I like that the people from the museum are betting on showing Cartagena's Afro heritage as well. Recommended, if you have the chance to go, I recommend it.Of course, it would be nice if they could have guides to better complement the tour and tell some tourists that they should not step on or lie down... It would also be cool to have something more interactive with screens showing audiovisuals with oral history, with other people to give their perspectives and reconstruction of certain facts that are usually left out by the political / historical interests of the people.

Dr. Abby: I love museums. This one was unfortunately the worst maintained one I've visited. I worry about how long some of their artifacts will last. carlos alamos: Few original samples. I expected more for such a historic city. Missing to see archive documents or exhibits of old pieces. Only 2 themes. inquisition and slavery
Gian Carlo de Melo: Não vale o ingresso. O museu está cheio de plotagem e poucas obras de verdade. Muita maquete, além de só ter 1 sala climatizada descente. No mais, muito quente.A parte de inquisição é melhor consultar informações on-line.
Miguel Prieto: Very disappointed. First of all, you need to pay to come in and then there is not even a/c. Barely any items on exhibition, just some panels with stories that you can read on any website
Maibeth Mejia: The Palace of the Inquisition is a place that houses all the history that the first settlers of Cartagena lived through. The facilities are poorly cared for, they lack maintenance, the bathrooms are poorly cleaned. It was not a good experience.
Elias Razo: Several rooms were closed and the exhibitions were incomplete. It is an historical building so I think the government should invest more on restore it.

erika samaniego: It was kind of chaotic and smelled like urine, the government could preserve it a little better. A lot of cars parked and driving right in front of it, it would be so much nicer if the little street right in front of the structure was a walkable street to make it more tourist friendly. If we decided to walk inside the bóvedas (to avoid the cars) we were faced with people trying to sell us stuff. We just wanted to peacefully walk, admire and take pictures without having to be rude and ignore people or saying “No gracias” every minute. The structures are nice if you already know the history behind it. My boyfriend, who doesn’t really care about history, thought it was boring and dirty. I liked it but could be better preserved.
