CHIQUI HOUSE BOUTIQUE: what do users think?
Alison Rooney: Stopped by recently as it was highly recommended. It is very over priced and there wasn’t any service there whatsoever. Hardly anyone was in the store and they staff seemed preoccupied. I bought two small items and they were overpriced for what they were. Suggest other spots in Cartagena.
Jean Ng: Great variety of home goods, decors, apparels to jewelleries from small to large in sizes. Besides Colombian design, they also features other ethnic items from other country like India and Indonesia to name a few. Everything is so beautiful and I only have so much space in my luggage.

Jenny Smith: Hotel Casa Lola was the perfect place to kick off our extended honeymoon getaway in Cartagena. A cross between old steam punk, colonial, and Eastern decor with beautiful water streams throughout the incredible labyrinth of the hotel - there was so much to look at and take in at every corner! We thoroughly enjoyed our daily delicious breakfast full of amazing/unique local fruit (+ more), top notch coffee (according to my coffee connoisseur husband) and friendly service - all included with the room, which is the best if you are a budget conscious traveler like myself. :-) The split level rooms with the bed up on the second floor and mirrors all over also made for a one-of-a-kind experience. A major highlight was the rooftop deck with the most incredible views of the city and interesting nooks and crannies galore - it was so quiet up there whenever we made our way on the roof, and we always wondered why more guests/people weren't around enjoying lounging in this hidden gem of a spot!Staying in the heart of Getsemani (a block or so away from the famous Cafe Havana, where we enjoyed a night out of live music and salsa dancing) was such a treat, and the staff were extremely helpful with coordinating drivers from the airport and down to our self-coordinated trip to the Aviary one morning. And of course the neighborhood is a full cultural/art immersion experience - the colors and energy of the nights are one-of-a-kind!
Naima Lyn: The place has an old world charm. The staff is nice, attentive, friendly. Food is top notch. We had the salmon and burger. Drinks are decent. Location is THE best if you want to be knee deep in culture, close proximity to events, clubs, restaurants and all water tours. We had a blast! Last night here and we miss it already.Rooms: Unique decor, zen. If you enjoy nature, pick thid hotel.Nearby activities: Clubs. Tours. Plaza de la trinidad. The mall. The wall. The museums. Close to it all.Safety: Youtube reviews said Cartagena is dangerous. We did not sew nor feel that at all here.
Cameron Smee: Great location, food and staff are very helpfulRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
P Dora: This hotel has lots of potential but unfortunately leaves a lot to be desired with room for improvement. The hotel is decorated beautifully. The location is fine. Our room (4) was quiet. The rooftop is a well curated space. Breakfast was also plentiful and of a good quality - the staff serving breakfast were polite, as were the cleaning staff we encountered. My main issues with the hotel were as follows:• Some of the staff presented as unhappy throughout, in particular those facilitating check in and check out. As the first and last impression of the hotel it would not hurt to expend a bit of energy on a smile.• On our second day we spent roughly 4 hours on the rooftop pool during the day. Unfortunately, there were no staff present on the rooftop to take requests for drinks and food. There was no information on the bar indicating opening hours of the hotel bar. There was a sign that said to call down to make requests but this appeared to only indicate an extension number, not a full number. The hotel website indicates there is an app in which you can make requests but this did not appear to be working. Eventually we left the pool area and hotel to grab drinks and food elsewhere.• The hotel website and information leaflets make reference to happy hour every day of the week. However when we witnessed another customer ask about this he was informed that happy hour only happens Wednesday to Friday. It is unprofessional for happy hour to be marketed in this way if the hotel is not providing such an offer. This false advertisement led to us observing a rather uncomfortable exchange between the customer and the member of the staff on our first night. The member of staff remained polite throughout the exchange but a quality hotel would acknowledge their own mistake and offer the customer a one time discretionary happy hour offer. It is poor form of the hotel to put the member of staff in this position.• WIFI was hit and miss in both our room and on the rooftop. In summary, this is a hotel with so much potential but I would not return in a rush until improvements are made.

Ben Walker: Great rooftop for sundowners. DJ and cocktail waiter.
Янко Г.: Два пъти бяхме в ресторанта. Морската храна е вкусна. Обслужването е добро.Само на втория ден се наложи да почакаме малко по дълго за поръчката

Jay Clemmey: The Sanctuary takes you through the history of San Pedro Claver who dedicated most of his life to evangelizing slaves in Cartagena during the 1600’s. He was canonized as a saint in 1888 by Pope Leo XIII.You can spend a good hour or so touring the church, garden, artwork, and the rooms where Claver lived and worked. Highly recommend a visit if you’re in Cartagena.

Alessio Astolfi: I had the chance to visit the Santuario de San Pedro Claver during a trip to Cartagena, Colombia, some ten years ago, and it was definitely an incredible experience. I am a person who has a great love for history and culture, therefore I was very taken aback by this sanctuary's significant past.In the centre of Cartagena's historic area, the Santuario de San Pedro Claver is a beautifully maintained Jesuit church and convent from the 17th century. It bears the name of Saint Peter Claver, a Jesuit priest of Spanish descent who dedicated his life to assisting slaves who were taken from Africa to Cartagena. The sanctuary provided these slaves with food, shelter, and medical attention while acting as a haven for them during a trying moment in history. It was a significant symbol of compassion and hope. The Santuario de San Pedro Claver's architecture is extremely stunning. The facade's exquisite detailing and elaborate designs are evidence of the architects' and artisans' expertise and craftsmanship. The sanctuary's interior is as breathtaking, featuring magnificent murals, pieces of art, and sculptures that depict Saint Peter Claver and his contributions to humankind. The opportunity to view Saint Peter Claver's relics, which are stored in a small room inside the sanctuary, was one of the pleasures of my trip. The saint's skull and bones are among the relics, which serve as a potent reminder of the sacrifices he made during his life and the influence he had on countless others.Overall, anyone with an interest in history, culture, or spirituality should definitely pay a visit to the Santuario de San Pedro Claver. Everyone who visits will undoubtedly have a lasting impression of this absolutely exceptional and inspirational location.

Laelia Milleri Photography: Check the opening time before you go. On the day when we were there the church was closed until the evening, so unfortunately I didn't get to see it inside. Enjoyed watching the busy and lively area surrounding it.
Carlos Hernández: Historic site of the walled city in Cartagena de Indias, with excellent cafes and restaurants around it
Kelly Cabrera: Beautiful
harold david gil muñoz: It is a good place to visit in Cartagena
Gabriel Garcés: Good experience for religious tourism. Rest the remains of San Pedro Claver. It also has a museum from the colonial era.

Amarla Boutique Hotel Cartagena: what do users think?
Daniel Rubio Sánchez: The hotel is fantastic. Well located, taken care of and the staff makes you feel like home. I recommend it without hesitation.
David Weber: We had the pleasure of staying at Amarla Boutique Hotel in Cartagena for 2 days and it was simply perfect! The hotel has a great location in the heart of the old town and its staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. From the spacious rooms to their rooftop terrace with stunning views, every detail is guaranteed to make your stay a memorable one. Highly recommend it!

Carmen Morawska: This is such a special hotel. The common areas are beautiful, and it has definitely kept its colonial charm whilst feeling very luxurious. The room was comfortable and well equipped. The only issue is we had a desk semi-blocking the door, so accessing the balcony wasn’t easy. It’s also worth noting that it’s quite noisy at night. Not the hotel’s fault as it’s coming from the street below, but for the rooms that face the road, maybe they could offer earplugs. The shower did not get very hot for very long and the old shower head means the water sort of splatters in weird directions, but it wasn’t terribly inconvenient. The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating.
Marc Jerome: My wife and I just returned from a three night stay at this wonderful boutique property. The stay was wonderful because both the property and the service were excellent. Our room—#1– was lovely, quiet and peaceful with high ceilings and a large bathroom. The common areas are beautiful and stylish. The rooftop pool was perfect to relax at. But most importantly, the level of service was so good, we felt like we were staying at a private Villa. Every morning, fresh coffee with hot milk was waiting for us before our run. Breakfast, which is included, was delicious. See photos below. For the price, you cannot beat the level of service or room amenities. We highly recommend this 6 room hidden gem. Special shout out to the wonderful staff, including our food server, Dorian; Otto who greeted us in the am and Eduardo andClaudia, who helped make our stay memorable.

The front office staff are experts of the old town and have amazing recommendations for food and sights. They were extremely helpful in navigating transportation needs. 100% stay here if you are in Cartagena!!!For any event, I highly recommend Angie. She was detail oriented, responsive, and well-connected. She is personable and navigated any request, no matter how last-minute, with care, attention to detail, and grace. She made the entire wedding party feel at home and provided us with service that went above and beyond her role. She truly is an amazing person and fantastic at her job. Hugo Amigo: Know part of history! Religion is the man looking for God. Christianity is the story of a Deus of love that seeks to repay the home. The inquisition is an inferno raised by men who say they act in the name of God. Conheça a Cristo somente, ele é a Porta e o Caminho aos ceus.COMPLAINTIt was usually done anonymously, orally or in writing. It was the process in which the validity of thecomplaint, investigating to see if there were meritsenough to prosecute the defendant.QUALIFICATIONMoment in which the defendant was informed that he waswould initiate a process against him, This occurred in twoforms: Inquisitio Specialeis and the Inquisitio Generalis;in the first, individually the parish priest of thetown of the defendant took the summons to hishome, for the suspect to turn himself in forimprisoned. The second, in the absence of adetermined suspect, consisted of promulgating thecall in a space where there could beheretics, to give themselves up.CITATIONHe wanted the defendant to acknowledge that he wascommitting a crime against faith. The procedurewas in secret and was carried out in the presence of tworeligious, the notary and the inquisitorial judgeINTERROGATIONIf the prisoner did not confess during the interrogation, the procedure wasto the application of torture, under the premise that thetruth extorted through torture is validTORMENTJUDGMENTIt occurred if the prisoner resisted despite the torment and thecourt came to establish guilt.
Mari C: Impressive museum and I recommend it to everyone who wants to know more about the absurdities of the inquisition! I went with low expectations, but it was SO worth the visit.
Stephanie P. G.: I went on a Sunday in June/2023, the adult ticket is $23,000, there are three floors and it does not have an elevator, so it is an issue to take into account if your health does not allow you to climb stairs. The building has been restored and is beautiful, on the first floor are the exhibitions on the inquisition and human rights, a cool audiovisual recreating what it was like to blame and "prosecute" someone. On the second and third floors, it is related to the history of Cartagena. I like that the people from the museum are betting on showing Cartagena's Afro heritage as well. Recommended, if you have the chance to go, I recommend it.Of course, it would be nice if they could have guides to better complement the tour and tell some tourists that they should not step on or lie down... It would also be cool to have something more interactive with screens showing audiovisuals with oral history, with other people to give their perspectives and reconstruction of certain facts that are usually left out by the political / historical interests of the people.

Gian Carlo de Melo: Não vale o ingresso. O museu está cheio de plotagem e poucas obras de verdade. Muita maquete, além de só ter 1 sala climatizada descente. No mais, muito quente.A parte de inquisição é melhor consultar informações on-line.
Miguel Prieto: Very disappointed. First of all, you need to pay to come in and then there is not even a/c. Barely any items on exhibition, just some panels with stories that you can read on any website
Maibeth Mejia: The Palace of the Inquisition is a place that houses all the history that the first settlers of Cartagena lived through. The facilities are poorly cared for, they lack maintenance, the bathrooms are poorly cleaned. It was not a good experience.
Elias Razo: Several rooms were closed and the exhibitions were incomplete. It is an historical building so I think the government should invest more on restore it.

loveonblock: If I could give zero stars I would. We went with a large group, over 20 people, and hoped this would be a wonderful experience and sadly it was miserable. Though the courtyard is pretty and the roof is sunny, is was impossible to find staff to get food/drinks and the pool was not cleaned properly. To start off the street noise is unbearable and there seems to be a club across the street that goes late into the evening. Secondly, I stayed in the most expensive room and felt I was in a dark cave. Most of the windows did not open and there was zero light- all the rooms appear to be this way. Then my door broke and I was locked in my room for over 30 minutes and was told my included breakfast ended at 10am and I would have to hurry- I literally couldn't get out of my room. The towels and linens were stained and felt poorly washed. And to make things worse, when I went to check out I paid whatever they said I owed for a few drinks/food I consumed on property- then I did the math for the pesos they charged me and realized that a they wrongly charged me for bringing three female escorts to my room- which never happened- I don't even sleep with women. They had copies of their IDs, not mine, from the evening and told me I was lying. I had to speak to three different people to convince them that I was telling the truth. Had I not inquired about the mysterious charges I would have paid hundreds of dollars. They were not apologetic and did nothing to make these situations right. I would never stay here again.
roy schlesinger: The best hotel we have ever stayed in!Everything is just perfect. It seems that they put a lot of thought into every little detail that exists in the hotel. From the furniture to the level of the shampoo. A very romantic and pleasant hotel for couples, a pleasant and well-kept pool, and a rooftop with an amazing view of the city.We want to come back to Cartagena again just for this hotel.

Oriol Moya Cànovas: El servei de SPA del Capellán és ideal. Un espai encantador, amb fruites i refresc al jacuzzi del final del massatge. Les massatgistes són molt professionals i amables. Una experiència perfecta! 👏
Nicolas kraliczek: Impeccable, charismatic, professional, clean, creative, excellently managed. History, color, flavor and good taste come together to create this experience.
Claudia Alzate: Traveling with friends!Recommended
Fernanda Bevilacqua: The hotel is divine! Super well located! The super large room with all the comforts, they gave us room 9 that faces the street and the only bad thing is that you feel the noise from outside. The breakfast is super good and the food of the rest and the pile tmb! I would return without a doubt.
Gretel Wilson: Beautiful hotel. Great facilities. Always clean and everything working.
Kingsley Walker: A faultless stay. Excellent quality facilities, attentive and helpful staff, great location and generally a beautiful hotel. I will be back for sure, highly recommend this place for a stay in Cartagena. Highlights include the pool, rooftop jacuzzi, breakfast and spacious rooms and great bed.
Héctor Escandell: Mal. Las habitaciones no son las que ofrecen. Tienen la oferta de camas Queen y en realidad son dobles.Los cuartos no son limpias. La atención es mala.

Almirante Cartagena Hotel: what do users think?
Estefany Parra Cardona: I think that a few years ago it could be called a 5-star hotel, but currently it is no longer. The photo of the pool is a lie, it's very small, so it's always full and apart from everything they close it at 8 pm. Very regular customer service, mostly from the people who serve breakfast and the bar located by the pool. There are many people offering tours at the entrance of the hotel, very harassing, quite annoying…
philip lawrence: I rate this hotel a Minus 1. I am in Cartagena EVERY 2 months and decided to try the Almirante. WORST thing I could have done. We checked in, me and fiancée, both WITH passports. The day after checking in, the hotel security team rushed the elevator we were using to go to our room and asked my fiancée if she was registered in the hotel, what an embarrassment, other guests looking etc., like we had done something!! THEY ASKED HER THAT BECAUSE SHE IS A COLOMBIANA, SO, THEY, THE SECURITY TEAM, RACIALLY PROFILED HER!! I Spoke to the manager the following morning and demanded they make things right for the embarrassment they had caused us due their inept security team (my fiancée cried the whole night because of what happened with the security team !!) The manager agreed that the hotel was at fault, that the security team never should have done what they did and that they would 'comp' us our room charges for the stay to make things right!!The problem is, THEY DID IT, and they did it because it has been tolerated all along, that is my problem with the whole thing She (hotel manager) fully agreed that what happened NEVER should have happened so, they would make things right.Just today, about 10 days after our trip, I was making another reservation at this hotel (because the hotel manager had, I thought. handled everything professionally) when I received an email from the hotel manager saying that She would not honor the room comp but would adjust an overcharge of about $35 from our prior bill. When I asked WHY, SHE SAID that she Never Agreed to the room comp in our meeting in her office on the day in question (I have emails from her admitting their security teams fault!!!! ) Money is one thing but, lies / integrity are another!!I judge a company by their word which is their integrity and not by the cost of services more times than not. With that being said, I would NEVER recommend this property to anyone as, I do not trust them, totally mis-managed!!!! I stay at the Dan Cartagena ALL THE TIME and have NEVER had any problems of any kind, and the rooms are twice the size with Balcony's and the hotel is ON THE BEACH, no walking to the beach!! DO yourself a FAVOR and run as fast as you can AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL PROPERTY. ALSO, THIS IS ABOUT A 3 STAR PROPERTY, VERY DATED AND VERY SMALL ROOMS (AND WE HAD THE BEST ROOM THE HOTEL OFFERED!! )

Jenifer Nahir Neves Jauregui: I did not stay. My sister stayed. They wouldn't let me pass from the Hall but I found out that water got into the room, that the windows were fixed and it was left with a bad smell after a torrential rain. They offered him room change for it. But equally, it is not a 5-star service.
