Eric Hall: If you’ve ever had French cuisine you understand it’s on a higher level. Montmartre is no exception. Had the chateaubriand with a small bit of ratatouille and of course the creme brûlée. Had a bottle of Bordeaux that was chilled but in Cartagena it warms up nicely. As good as Montmartre Paris!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

En fin...imperdible!!!(Translated by Google
Jolie deco simple.Vegetarian options: Ceviche vegetarien ou soupe
Fernando Dussin: THE PLACE SURPRISED ME, THE TASTE AND PRESENTATION OF ITS DISHES TAKEN ME TO FRANCE, WITH A TOUCH OF CARTAGENA. THE TERRINE IS JUST AS IN FRANCE AND THE BOEUF BORGINON HAD A SUBLIME PREPARATION, A VERY DELICATE FEELING ON THE PALATE. THE CHOCOLATE DESSERT, ELEVATED THE EXPERIENCE.THEY WILL REMEMBER THE EXPERIENCE FOREVER.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Alicia Williams: We were very happy with our experience here for lunch! We had the empanadas, the ceviche, and the fish and shrimp cari. Everything was great, we sat out on the balcony for a little while we waited, service was quick, chatted with the friendly owner for a little and we love that kind of experience when we go to a small restaurant.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5 …More
sam stringer: on a recent trip to colombia with friends, i visited the french restaurant Montmartre in Cartagena.the interior of the restaurant was quirky and had a chilled atmosphere.for starters I had hoped to try the french onion soup, but it was sadly out of stock. instead I ordered the duck empanadas which were decent.for mains I of course ordered the steak frites. this was one of my favourite dishes of my 2 week holiday in colombia. the steak and chips alone were sensational, but the creamy peppery sauce lifted it to a whole new level.we also polished off some lovely red wine.a must-visit for anyone after high quality dining experiences in Cartagena!
Kailie Hauser: Delicious food. The appetizer, main dishes and dessert were made to perfection with amazing local flavours. The service is excellent. The ambiance is very quaint - I would recommend making a reservation as it fills up fast.

Luiz Horowitz: Probably the best meal we had over 9 days in Colombia! Dishes are made to perfection, I had a salmon wellington which is quite different to the usual filet wellington, and my girlfriend had fishes and shrimps on coconut sauc! Both were AMAZING, but hers was better to my taste hahaVery affordable prices 50-60k cop for very high end dishes(which could easily cost 30-40 usd somewhere else)Loooots of options of wine glasses for 27k cop aswell

Rum and Chocolate tasting Cartagena: what do users think?
Daniel Ramos: Great presentation! Good atmosphere. Renato is very knowledgeable about rum and provides a great details about the rums and chocolate!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Robert Mathes: Sandra was an amazing hostess! We had so much fun! I love this place!!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Fatmata Sankoh: Thought I knew about rum until I did this tasting. Learned so much from Renato's wealth of information and storytelling. The rums got better with each tasting but the second one was my favorite. The chocolates paired well with the rums and my tastebuds. I could not stop eating. I loved the intimate setting and small group. It was my brother's birthday and Renato and his team made it extra special by preparing a slice of delicious cheesecake with candle to help me celebrate his birthday. We met a lot of cool people (all from the US like us). Definitely would recommend to my clients and friends!
Yogi the Shooter: Top notch experience. Renato is the best. He’s super knowledgeable about Rum, he has a great passion for it and each rum tastes perfect with its pairing. We had a late afternoon tasting and are still on a high from it into the night. He also knows so much about the hot spots in the city. My girlfriend and I are very pleased with our ticket purchase.
Alexis Robinson: Great rum tasting experience.
Qyana Agina: Amazing! We had a great time with Renato. Very nice and knowledgeable. Would recommend to check this place out! It’s awesome!
Sophie Fellmer: My boyfriend and I did a rum and chocolate tasting with Renato and loved it!! It was a unique experience which was definitely our highlight in Cartagena! We tasted different Colombian rums and were impressed by the variety. The chocolates were delicious and a perfect addition to the rum!Renato was a wonderful host with a profound knowledge, through which he could answer all of our questions and led us through the tasting experience. We would definitely recommend this tasting to anyone who likes rum or is just curious about it - a perfect evening, prepared with all love and detail!
Lisa Whitney: Great fun learning more about Colombian rums and chocolates!
Sophie Maranda: This was a stellar experience! Definitely good value for money: we tried six different rums, as well as Aguardiente and Viche. I would recommend going after a good supper to avoid a hangover.. Renato is kind, personable and lots of fun! The activity is in English.
Arne Koch: I was the onliest attendie for this rum tasting but that was not a problem. Renato lead me through the 6 different rum of Colombia and gave me a lot of information beside.
Tayia Jones: Great experience with a nice selection! It was fun, interactive and informative. If you are in Cartagena, I highly recommend.
ana horan: Amazing experience!Renato is a supergreat host and you can see the passion he has for rum. I really enjoyed doing this experience with Renato and meeting new people.Definetely recommend to anyone even if youre not a drinker yourself, you'll still have a great time!
H James Lucas: Renato may not have convinced me that rum and chocolate are indeed best friends, but he certainly offers a lovely selection of each and a perfect environment in which to taste. His cooking-school space on the second floor of Caffé Lunático is clean and spacious, bright enough for learning but comfortable enough for a class to morph into a little party of newfound friends as an evening progresses. Our fellow tasters included brothers from Brighton and couples from Santiago, Paris, New York, and Seattle, and we would have been happy to have been sitting next to any of them. Anyone new to Colombia with even a mild appreciation for rum would do well to spend an evening here.
Caroline Martin: Great experience! Delicious Colombian rums and learned alot. Renato was excellent, super friendly and knowledgeable.
Mitchell Fly: This is an absolutely incredible experience to be a part of. You get to sample a wide variety of Colombian rums that the creator (Renalto) has personally selected, paired with some phenomenal Colombian chocolates. The experience is very casual, while still knowing that you’re dealing with an expert. For gaining an understanding of Colombian rum, the history, the geography, and the flavor behind it, you can’t get a better experience.
Abigail Yeary: This experience was amazing! Renato was so knowledgeable about each rum and made the experience so unique and educational. The view from the restaurant is incredible and the chocolate and rum was delicious. Best experience in Cartagena!
Chuck G: Simply incredible. As a whiskey drinker, I always thought rum was something only to use as a mixer in a daiquiri. NO MORE! The rums I tried were incredible. I'm so glad I took this tasting class. Great rums, great people, great time :)
Way Yuhl: We loved rum and chocolate! This is one of our favorite experiences anywhere in the world. We learned a lot about rum we learned a lot about chocolate. The rum was excellent the chocolate was excellent and a host was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, he was fun, he was professional, he felt like a good friend
Amy Todorova: This was a great experience in Cartagena. It was well set-up and everything we tasted was great. Renato was amazing -- he was very knowledgeable about everything he was speaking about. He also was extremely responsive to messages that we sent ahead of time when we had questions about switching times. My husband was sick and we were afraid we wouldn't make it and he worked with us to come up with other solutions in case we had to miss the activity. But luckily we were able to go and we are so happy we made it!
Jason Hill: I've done events at so many places around the world. I would like to say more but will not spoil how amazing this event has been. I highly recommend this experience because it's truly an experience!

Daniela Duque: The best restaurant I've ever been to! Wonderful care. You have to visit it ❤️
Paula Nechita: The service was perfect! Amazing place and amazing food. I recomand!
Jean verdot: Be careful, they will facture you more than you see on the bill ! And then when you send a proof they tell you sorry it was an error of price but they don’t give you back the change …
David Andres Perez: I have eaten in several Michelin star restaurants, this is without a doubt, completely expendable. Everything was very good, except the price. The quality goes up to a certain point, but the price goes up and up. I think that these types of restaurants are the ones that parody different series and movies and generate that stereotype of small and pretentious portions that do not represent the reality of the industry. There are better Michelin-starred experiences at a third of the price. It is not that it is "expensive", it is that the perceived value is very low compared to the amounts paid.
Alejandro Aguilar: Bad experience with the dress code, the Hostess or receptionist. She has a terrible handling of the situation, and is not prepared to give the information correctly and concretely. They ask for formal attire, and there were men in short pants inside the venue.Other than that they have old ads, which have the actual dress codes. And they only use it in favor of their situations. They need more preparation in customer service, and above all, be consistent when asking for a dress code when they don't even report it in the WhatsApp message.Sad experience, especially from a hotel that is facing the sea.
Ricardo Jacome: Excellent food, good service, attentive. Well balanced flavors. Recommended the sweet lobster
Dark Tabris: An excellent experience for your palate.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
zack shooter: Great food and drink. Unfortunately found a hair in our starter which absolutely ruined our appetite and they did not deal with it very professionally as you would expect in such a prestigious restaurant.
Rosscandy Ortiz: What a wonderful experience, that place is beautiful, the staff is very kind Andrés, Kevin, Douglas, Luz Marinathey are all very kind, polite, very professional.
Jorge Prieto: The best restaurant in Cartagena de Indias.
Genaro Grajeda: The service and flavor are spectacular. Please try the flan.
William Andres Uchima: Nice place, good attention deteriorated the taste of the food.
DA KG: I visit hundreds of restaurants a year around the world. Without a doubt, the best Spanish restaurant outside of Spain. Congratulations Ramon Freixa!!!!!Parking: Parquing en el propio hotel Las Americas! Perfecta ubicacion

Duran Duran Tours: what do users think?
Chet Cramer: Excellent tour guide. He knows everyone and everything about Cartagena. 10/10 would recommend!
Rob Osborn: The best experience on our trip to Cartagena was our day with Senor Duran and his wife, Maria. The trip through the city to the market to select our ingredients and meet wonderful vendors was authentic. We saw parts of the City that were full of life and beauty. Senor Duran and Maria opened their home to us and shared a fabulous cooking tradition. We met their family and made wonderful food. We felt the warmth of being with family.Thank you for making this cherished memory for us.-The Osborns
Martha Dugan: We did the Garcia Marquez literary tour and it was wonderful. It brought the books alive! Best tour in Cartegna.
Ann D: The History & Street Food tour with Durán Angel Eduardo was, hands-down, the best tour we’ve had in Colombia so far. It was a private tour that we will cherish in our memories for years to a come.Angel is very passionate about the city and its culture; a passion that has not dulled at all despite 3+ decades of experience guiding newcomers and re-visitors alike. His passion is not only noticed by us, but also the locals who openly greet him throughout the tour. His enthusiasm shines through with every topic that he talks about, from Cartagena’s beginnings to current day, which made learning about Cartagena’s history a lot of fun, rather than a dull lecture. Angel is the epitome of Cartagena’s warmth and hospitality—he is extremely friendly and kept us engaged, laughing, and safe throughout the entirety of the tour. Angel even made sure that we had a chance to try a street food that was not originally a part of the tour, all because we had asked about it. We enjoyed this tour with Angel so much that, when we return to Cartagena in the future, we would make it a mission to re-experience this or another tour with Angel again. If a tour with good people and fun history over delicious local food sounds like something you’d enjoy, make sure you book with Angel at Duran Duran right away!Edit: Added pictures!
N Villarreal: Duran Duran tours helped me coordinate several events for a week long work conference in Cartagena a few years ago. They helped me tremendously because I was planning this from Dallas, Texas and I had to put a lot of trust in them. My trust was not misplaced, they were incredible!! They planned an entire day's tour for 80 people (including transportation) plus they helped me with a rental of a catamaran with direct drop off at a restaurant for dinner. That night was amazing and everything went very smoothly. They made me look really good in front of our customers and my managers! At the end of the week Mr. Duran thanked me and said he was grateful because this was the first large tour group he'd managed since his business was fairly new. I would never have known it by their level of organization, service and professionalism. I loved Cartagena and if I ever go back Duran Duran Tours is who I'd call first!! Contact them, you won't be disappointed!!Un saludo cariñoso Señor Duran desde Dallas!Norma Villarreal
Faromine G: They allowed me to go on a bike tour with Ángel and his son Andrés. super educational! They know a lot about the history of Cartagena. I can recommend them both!
Rosie Parker: Truly a unique and unforgettable experience! Angel and Maria guide you through an experience that you would never be able to access on your own as a tourist. Our Bazurto market tour & cooking class was our highlight of our time in Cartagena!
Andrew Hatcher: This was perhaps one of the best tours we've ever participated in, anywhere in the world! We were picked up at our apartment by one of our hosts, Angel, and then driven out to the Bazurto Market to buy the ingredients for our lunch. This would have been worth the cost of the entire tour alone - the market covers a vast area, teeming with locals buying and selling goods of all kinds. Stepping into its maze-like interior is a little intimidating (especially if you're not fluent in Spanish!), but no worries - Angel guided us through the various shops and stalls, stopping to get us some tasty samples, shopping for produce and fresh fish, greeting various friends and acquaintances, and all the while providing us with all sorts of information (about the market, Cartagena, Colombia and a bit of his personal biography.Leaving the market, we then drove to his family's home in the Andalucia neighborhood. We were greeted there by his lovely wife, Maria, and her assistant, and then began preparing our meal. Our hosts made sure to keep the conversation flowing when they weren't instructing us, and, over the course of three hours, we all got to know a bit about each other (and, of course, Colombian cuisine!). With such pleasant company and plenty to do, time flew by and, seemingly before I knew it, it was time to eat!We were joined for lunch by Angel and Maria's son (I am SO sorry, but I can't recall the young man's name just now), a college student and very friendly young man. We all ate our delicious home-cooked meal together, and continued our great conversation throughout. When we were finished, we said our goodbyes (but not before they gave us a special parting gift!) and Angel and his assistant drove us back to our apartment in the Centro district. We spent about 9 days in Colombia, and I would say that this was the most enjoyable, most educational and most rewarding experience we had during our time there. I cannot recommend this tour (or any tour with Duran Duran) highly enough!
yessica Guanipa: Positive:Professionalism
Mike McMahon: Great tour company!!
Janet Masaki: Wonderful attention given by Don Ángel Durán and all his staff in each of his tours. A lot of professionalism, knowledge, punctuality and responsibility. And all this at a fair price. Highly recommend all the options of Durán Durán Tours. At all times you feel that you are in good hands. If you want to spend a magnificent vacation in Cartagena de Indias, then with your eyes closed, contact Durán Durán Tours.
Aman Agarwal: Did a 4-hour Gabriel Garcia Marquez tour with Angel Duran. It was the most amazingly informative experience. Angel is a fun person who will ensure to keep you entertained and interested and happy. Despite the heat, we really enjoyed it.
ariza tours: They are very professional in everything they do, the services of Duran Duran Tours are 100% recommendable.
Patrik Holmberg: This is the worst experience I have ever had with a tour company anywhere in the world. We booked everything for Playa Blanca the day before at their office and continued talking to them over text messages during the night to confirm our pick up.Today, when we arrived the pick up wasnt there and they couldn't give us a new one. Apparently a public holiday today, something they did not tell us yesterday. We had to ask for every bit of information, or search for ourselves. No information was provided by the office/staff. They even tried to put the blame on us by saying we booked the wrong time, but in reality they gave us two different pick up time to choose from. The service was bad and it felt like they did nothing to make the situation better, like ordering us a taxi or something to fix the issue they have caused.I do not recommend using them at all, a time waster and bad experience.
bvj joan: The bike tour with the DuraDuran guide was perfect. Great connoisseur of the city and its history, he was very entertaining and constructive. Totally recommended.
Steve Tadevich: We booked a private tour with Duran Duran for a group of eight. Booked the tour in January of 2018 and pulled into port early April. Everything was excellent, from the time we were greeted coming off our cruise ship until we were dropped off at the conclusion of tour. Knowledgeable guide, interesting stops, an air conditioned van. Cost was better than what the cruise line offered and from what I understand it was far superior. I highly recommend Duran Duran.

Discover Cartagena by Locals: what do users think?
Ray Jackson: This vacation was my first time visiting Colombia, and it definitely won't be my last. Why? It was the amazing people that we met in Cartagena that made a lasting impression. Even though we originally planned to only book 1 tour with Discover Cartagena, we ended up booking 2, because the first experience was so incredible. Our first experience with Discover Cartagena was a tour of the public market, "Mercado de Bazurta." For me, this was the "real" Cartagena experience. We mixed and mingled with the hardworking people of Cartagena as they sold and bought all types of stuff. From fresh seafood, to beautiful and tasty produce. They even had a record shop in this market. I believe just about any and everything was sold here. We even bought lunch while there. But what differentiated this tour from other tours that we did during our stay was our phenomanal tour guide and host, Maria, aka Mayu. I believe Mayu is the owner of Discover Cartagena, and her passion, energy, and engaging personality is what made this experience. The moment that Mayu grabbed my hand and began teaching me how to dance Champeta while standing in front of the record shop at the public market, I knew I was all in. As a lover of music, the last thing that I expected to learn and experience at the "farmers market", lol, was how to dance to a music style that was completely foreign and fascinating to me. It was so surreal! At that very moment is when I shouted out that I'm booking a second experience with Discover Cartagena, which was "Learning to Dance Salsa." Before I share a little bit about that, I want to say that Mayu is the brand. In other words, there are some brands, that it's the product or service that makes the brand, but in this case, it's the person. If you're looking for a "cookie cutter" experience of Cartagena, then book anybody you want. But if you're truly seeking to experience Cartagena, especially like a local, then book Mayu with Discorver Cartagena. To cap off this experience, Mayu took us to the neighborhood that she grew up in, and we ate our lunch that we bought at the market. I don't know of any other place where you would get that same experience. It's just incredible. So the evening of the next day is when we went on our second experience with Mayu's Discover Cartagena. We learned how to dance Salsa, then we went to several spots to dance amongst the local crowd. Even though I love music and dancing, I'm introverted and self-conscious when dancing in front of other people, especially, when I'm the outsider. However, Mayu and the instructor did an awesome job in making me feel comfortable, and confident in learning how to Salsa. For the most part, everyone in our group was new to dancing Salsa, so I was good with the overall vibe. I know I'm not good enough to ever be on the tv show "Dancing with the Stars", but who cares I had a lot of fun. So much so that when it came time for me to leave, because it was getting late, I felt like the little kid having to leave early from his best friends birthday party begging his mom to let him stay longer, lol. I had that much fun! Once again, it was Mayu's passion, her love of the city and it's people is what made this experience incredible.I highly recommend that if you're fortunate enough to visit Cartagena, you should definitely connect with, and book your experience through Discover Cartagena!
Jenny Andry: A group of 9 of us booked a private food tour with Discover Cartagena via Airbnb experiences. With little expectation in mind, we were paired with the amazing tour guide, Marlon! We stopped at 6 local spots (+ a grocery store! which I personally love doing while traveling…a true glimpse into real life), learned their histories, tried their specialities, and were told stories from the POV of a local in between it all. 100% my favorite day while visiting; it gave color and life to my view of Cartagena that would otherwise not have happened. Marlon also went so far to recommend other spots around town for the rest of our stay and booked our group of 11 dinner at a friend's restaurant. What??Thanks for providing this great offering. I hope this business pays your Locals well.

RJ LS: My tour guide was passionate, genuine, talkative, full of energy, and is honest. I could sense or tell by the way the locals were around her that they trust her and have welcomed her as a family. I booked two tours with her: the Palenge tour and the Bazurto tour. She naturally spoke to you as if a friend. Not for one moment it felt like a script. She took great care of me and even helped me find where I can buy/special order dried fish! My father was happy hahaha! I would recommend this place. You won’t feel morally guilty for taking it unlike other tour guides/agencies.

We explored explored the local market amongst Cartageneros working and shopping for their families. We tried all sorts of interesting fruits and foods. The fried fish was so good, do not hesitate to try it! We saw a famous local artist at work and hear stories of some of the market's oldest vendors. Our guide was so friendly and how they interacted with everyone really made it special.Highly recommend. Make time for this tour in your trip, you won't regret it!

Maria was our tour guide. She guided us through the streets of Cartagena. We tasted the most delicious foods from fruits to candies to fried fish, yucca, and beers. We ate so much on the tour. The tour made me experience Cartagena in a way I never thought I would. I highly recommend Discover Cartagena.
