When you go up it is beautiful because you have a 360° view of the city.Additionally, being there evokes you to that time of antiquity. A place with a lot of history but there it gives you incredible peace. It is in perfect condition despite the long years that this emblematic site has been in Cartagena. You must come and enjoy your view.

Jay Palmer: Loved this hotel! The food was amazing, the air was ON, and the staff was very nice and helpful. When we arrived we had an issue with our hotel room door not securing, and after we notified the front desk they sent someone and it was fixed immediately. We will definitely be staying at the Charleston again. The location was perfect.
Marcial Patino: Magnificent experience.Of the best
Dario Navia Cujar: Very good hotel, good service, good location, good facilities, good toilet, good menu
Carolina Ardila: I had the misfortune of staying at a hotel in which I was unable to talk with the manager, and also charged me a tax that is only applicable for residents. Furthermore, they refused to accept my passport as proof that I am leaving overseas. It was an unpleasant experience overall and one I would not recommend to anyone looking for accommodation while traveling abroad. The first issue arose when trying to speak with someone in charge about my reservation; there seemed no way of doing this without having direct contact information or being able go through customer service on site. This made it difficult if any issues were encountered during stay because there wasn’t any reliable source available who could help resolve them quickly and efficiently. The second issue came up when checking in; instead of charging me what should have been due according their policy, they added additional taxes meant only for residents - something which should never happen considering that foreign travelers are exempt from such charges! To make matters worse they then refused my passport as valid proof needed upon departure - despite passports being accepted worldwide as standard official identification documents! The card, the booking and the address of the booking are also from overseas.Overall it has been an extremely unsatisfactory experience dealing with this particular hotel's management team and customer service staff alike; both lacked basic understanding about how these situations are usually handled meaning guests can be left feeling confused or frustrated by their policies . As such ,I cannot recommend staying here unless absolutely necessary given all the problems associated with its services . JR
Gethsemanie Acea: Beautiful hotel located in the center of EVERYTHING. The rooms were spacious and clean. Hotel staff was accommodating especially Raphael. He was a charm. I swear everytime we cam back our rooms had been cleaned with fresh linens and when had out personal items put to the side neatly. The breakfast was very good fill of fresh fruit. Nothing beat the roof top pool with a stunning view. Everything about our stay here was nothing short of amazing.
Jenny Smith: We had an incredible time splurging here for our honeymoon! We are usually budget travelers, so ending our trip with some class and luxury was a real treat. :-) The rooftop wading pool was a highlight and provided incredible views of the city and we were able to experience the most precious colorful sunset over the sea on one of the cloudless nights. The breakfast in the morning was also delightful, with so many unique/local whole fruits to choose from (we booked a room where breakfast was included, which was a great choice). Oh and there were fresh flowers everywhere that looked and smelled incredible! Hydrangea, lilacs, orchards - so much beauty everywhere. We stayed in the newer "Republican" part of the hotel - I loved the lavender colored walls and our shower had the best view of the city. We also enjoyed looking/sitting in the more historic colonial part of the hotel. There is so much to soak up throughout the surroundings, and the location is absolutely perfect - near the Old City wall/lookout and walkable to all of the shops and restaurants in the area. If you want to indulge a little bit during your travels, this the perfect spot to do so. :-)
Maridol Cecilia: The hotel has a good location, but when you arrive you go to the bar and the lady in charge had sports and couldn't authorize music. On Thursday we arrived on Friday we went to have breakfast and they told us that they are going to have a drink. I told her a mango juice yes it is sweet I asked for it with water and my husband with milk it was sour and I asked the young man if he could put milk on it to make it better and he said he couldn't, then we wanted to share a hot pot and I asked him if he could put the scrambled eggs on us The bill couldn't be made then and he didn't even bother, he gave us the bill as if nothing or an apology, much less, but we have a very high opinion of Guillermo the bartender and Marcela thank you very much but I would not return to this hotel 🤔Noteworthy details: I would not go back

erika samaniego: The rooms are beautiful. The pool looks so much bigger in the photos, in reality it was small and one family with kids can take all the space of it. However they have a lot of space to sit and sip some drinks at the rooftop. The staff was kind and helpful. We arrived very early and left late in the afternoon and were allowed to remain in the public areas of the hotel and they held our bags while we explored some more of the city.Rooms: Big and cozy, nice view from balcony and great showers.Nearby activities: So many good restaurants and bars within walking distance. Getsemani is about 15-20 mins away walking.

C Woods: Stayed here for 7 days. Rooms are big and comfy. Tile floors so bring your slippers. Bathrooms are nice size. Showers are great. They have nice products in the bathroom. They offer a nicebuffet breakfast in the restaurant but you can also get made to order breakfast. Lobby is nice to kick it and chill but depending on when you go, you might become a buffet for mosquitoes. There is a room next to the outdoor lobby area and it's comfy and a great place to hang out. The rooftop pool is amazing and the views from up there are phenomenal. Pool area is the perfect place to hang out and drink. Internet connection could be spotty at times but wasn't too bad. Front desk was very attentive to any of our needs. Staff was extremely accommodating. Nice hotel to stay at inside the Walled City.
Erica Chew: We spent 5 spectacular days there. The pool was great and the sunset views were stunning. Jorge gave great recommendations of things to do in town. Jordan helped find us reservations and hooked us up with a great walking tour with a local, Aura. Highly recommended. Only thing that I didn't like is they wouldn't heat up my leftovers. I had it in the fridge and was so excited to eat it the next morning but couldn't.Walkability: Great location. Everything in the old town was about 15 min walk max.
Craig R: Great location with full breakfast included. A full spa. A short walk to most parts of the city. Rooftop pool/bar with amazing service (Janner/Jorge are the best!). A quiet oasis away from the busy city below, with its own unobstructed sunset views.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view, Quiet, Great value …More
ANJLI SHAH: My husband and I stayed at Bastion for 4 nights. It is definitely not a “luxury” hotel for following reasons- as soon as we were allocated a room we realised the air conditioning unit was not working. The workmen did come and sort this out.We then realised our sink was getting clogged up and the water was not draining. This caused a sewage smell in the bathroom. We did let the manager know about this and he assured us it would be dealt with whilst we were sight seeing. Nothing seemed to be sorted. After 2 nights of sleeping in this room and finally making a fuss at reception they did change our room as they said the sink problem could not be sorted. However the second room we were allocated had a broken toilet roll holder, broken tiles on the bathroom floor, the shower wasn't draining quick enough hence was overflowing, the room telephone wasn't working. We did complain to the manager but he didn't seem to be too bothered. The room was definitely not fit to be allocated to a guest.- Breakfast was mediocre for a 'luxury' hotel! There were insects (fruit flies) all over the fresh fruit and the staff didn't seem to be bothered by it.The hotel is in a good location, slightly away from all the hustle and bustle but yet close enough. However I would recommend other hotels in the vicinity which are probably cheaper but have better service and rooms.
Maria Hernandez: 10/10 I would definitely come back and enjoy it again. From the decor to the service every details is thought to make it specialFood & drinks: The ceviche is amazing
Laura Patricia Támara Muñoz: Excellent service and attention. We marriedIn the Santo Toribio church, and arrive walking to the church. Very convenient they decorated the room on the wedding night and they were very special
René Francisco Torres Jugo: The hotel is excellent to spend a few days and get to know Cartagena from the walled city. It is very well located. The hotel is not ostentatious luxury, very nice to relax in a quiet environment. The staff is very polite and oriented to make things easier. The truth is that it is a characteristic of Cartagena, everyone is very helpful and cheerful.
Mo Gourrier: We had a great room next to the courtyard! The pool upstairs was wonderful with a bar and plenty of seating. The gentleman serving us by the pool was very friendly as well! The food and drinks were amazing.
Ing. Juan Felipe Restrepo L.: Very good hotel...Slightly expensive... very good facilities. Good swimming pool. all okRooms: En muy buen estado de limpieza y comodidadSafety: Se siente uno seguro

Dreams Karibana Cartagena Golf & Spa Resort: what do users think?
B Julious: I was a little skeptical from some of the reviews on here, but I actually had a really great experience at this resort! The food was the best I’ve experienced at an all-inclusive resort thus far. The staff is attentive and friendly. They keep entertainment going around the clock, this was great because the resort is somewhat far from the Cartegena attractions and night life. The hotel was clean, the rooms are a bit outdated and could use some upgrades, but not a big deal. We stayed on the preferred side of the resort. The air didn't really work during the day, but we were sightseeing mostly anyway. I wouldn’t consider it a 5 star resort (maybe 4), but it has 5 star potential. I would definitely return to this resort!
J Carlos Medina: , pero como nuestro objetivo era descansar, pues para nosotros no fue un problema. En cuanto a los alimentos solo comentar que es preferible el restaurante de bufet para cualquier alimento.(Translated by Google
Nathalie Smalls: There is limited food options 2 resturants. The food is cold, and fly infested. Power keeps going on and off making riding in the elevator risky. We were told the the buffet option which is not our favorite is only open for dinner when they are to capacity and the remaining 2 resturants will not serve ladies in formal long dresses with sandals but we can wear sneakers or high hills. Crazy since its raining and the tile is slippery. This is not a Dreams resort. They do not have the same level of excellence as the other locations.Food & drinks: Limited to no food options.

Richard Agard: I am an Impression member with Unlimited Vacation Club and to say I am disappointed is an understatement. I am currently staying at Dreams Karibana in Cartagena, Colombia. We chose to stay 10 days and our trip has been filled with disappointments. The first 3 nights we didn’t even have AC in our room and we are traveling with a 4 month old baby. They moved our room but moved it to an area full of black mold. Our towels are extremely worn down to the point they are see through. The manager Luis Gomez did very little to make our stay better. He offered a 30 min massage. The second room we got was smaller than what we had booked and when they corrected it they put my parents in a room that part of the ceiling fell and flooded their room. The unlimited vacation club is an expensive timeshare that at this moment seems like a robbery. I am so disgusted with how we were treated and the state of the hotel. I will never come back and will actively write reviews warning people to not come here. They don’t care about you. They only want to want your money but it is definitely not worth it! Literally black mold is everywhere!Rooms: Rooms are ok but are extremely outdated! Not luxury level
Becky Mansfield: Beautiful resort. It is a bit far from the city. My room was beautiful. The restaurants could have been better. This is a smaller resort for Dreams but it wZ extremely clean and beautifulRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 4/5Hotel highlights Great view, Quiet …More
mariana duncan: An excellent resort that has everything, even a golf course.Excellent services, amenities, cleanliness, access to the beach club with a cart. The view from the beach is incredible. It has everything to be able to hold a super elegant and beautiful event.
Juan Pablo Rodriguez: Excellent hotel and very good unique service in Colombia
Katy Gonzales: It is located in a secluded area, which gives privacy. What we should have are fans in restaurants that are not indoors.Rooms: Lindas, equipadas y todas con vista parcial o toral al mar.Safety: Hay cámaras y personal de seguridad en todo el hotel.
Lilianaportilla Portillamoreno: It really is an expectacular experience, a place to rest in the best way
A PN: . Mucho cuidado con el tour para conocer el hotel, al final quieren obligarte a pagar membresía, pero cuando dices que NO, te hostigan y te incomodan con preguntas muy personales. Tratan de venderte paquetes vacacionales de forma obligatoria. MUCHO CUIDADO CON ELLOS(Translated by Google

This Is Cartagena: what do users think?
Rosario Valdivia: What a picturesque city, the colonial center and strong colors, it seems that time has not passed.
Victoria Patiño: Every time I go to Cartagena I discover new beautiful and romantic places. It is a city that combines old architecture with modern buildings, it has beautiful landscapes and there are fun places to visit with many tourist attractions. They offer attractions that can be visited on tourist buses and other vehicles that we know as Chivas, some also designed as trams, pirate ships, boats, yachts, ships and even a cruise port.
Nuvia Loaiza Salazar: Recontra recommended National pride I fell in love one of my best gifts Thank God for so many beauty
Salete Amaral li: Muito legal
Byron Orlando Nazate: Magical
Leonor Corradi: magic
Maxx Saiz: Beautiful place
Maria Carolina Velez de Watson: Loved staying at their properties in centro, every time we have friends over we only recommend this company! The house we stayed at was fantastic, beautiful pool, very comfortable bedrooms and an amazing design. Without a doubt will stay there again.
Sandra Saiz: very historical
Armando Ibarra: The city is an exemplary example of the Latin American spirit and its colonial past. The historic center is majestic beyond the obvious commercial spirit dedicated to plundering the tourist. The boardwalk and its yacht clubs alternate with the promenade of its inhabitants, the enormous inequality of society in this and in many Latin American countries. However, the greatness of this city is in its people. In his generous and gentle spirit.Cartagena is a place worth visiting.
Aleja Figue: Solo se decir que es hermosa
Yuly Correa: Super.
Nick Davidson: Spent 10 days in Cartagena with an excellent and varied programme devised by TiC. Good choice of beaches ( liked Blue Apple Beach followed by Fenix), interesting cooking course and delicious Ceviche Tour. Would strongly recommend TiC as the people to plan your stay in and around Cartagena.
Eder Castillo: Spectacular and reliable
Rodolfo Grau: Excellent, good professionals that when it comes to scheduling an excellent vacation
Jeanine Lucarelli: I unfortunately had a very unpleasant experience with This is Cartagena. I had booked a trip to Blue Apple Beach through this company for a Sunday, i got an email confirming that i was all set and ready to go for me and 3 other people. I then received an email the next day saying unfortunately there is no availability for Sunday (after i already got a confirmation) and was asked if i would like to go Monday, and without an argument i said no problem. I received a confirmation to meet at their office at 10:30AM, and that's exactly what i did. The office was closed (due to a holiday that i would have no idea about because i was just vacationing and it was never mentioned when they had me move my reservation to this day) So we called and called and then i emailed and finally got a hold of someone and they said they were having someone come pick us up, and would refund me for the at least the transportation. At this point my friends and i have already got in a taxi to get on a boat to make sure we can enjoy the day at the island we had all paid for already, not only did we have to pay for a taxi, we had to pay a decent amount of money to get us to an island by a different boat. Not only did they refuse to refund me for what was their mistake after they said they would, they ignored my last email asking them to reconsider that decision. So for anyone visiting Colombia, i don't recommend going through this company, Blue Apple Beach was great once we were there so i would just find another way to get there so you don't have to pay double like we did.
Brad Worthington: I did two tours with them. They were very helpful on both occasions. The Rosario islands was nice but pretty basic. The Tierra Bomba bike tour was great. It was fun and informative. The tour guides, Valerie and Cindy, were very helpful and went over the top to help.
HAROLD JULIO: An excellent place to have wonderful experiences while you get to know Cartagena and its tourist attractions
s heydt: One of the best best vacations we've ever taken! Rainbow Nelson and his talented team looked after every detail of our nine days in and around Cartagena. We traveled with our three children and my parents--there was something fun for everyone. This Is Cartagena planned wonderfully creative adventures for us each day, like a treasure hunt for the kids, salsa dancing lessons, chocolate making, floating in a mud volcano, tours through the market and a gondola ride through the mangroves. They arranged for daily Spanish lessons (Gustavo was fantastic with the kids!) and private tours with dynamic, talented guides (Ronaldo and Alex!). We chose Colombia because we hoped to expose our children to other cultures and ways of life. I'll admit I was a little nervous to travel there, but we felt safe at every moment--and I appreciated the efforts they made to Introduce us to aspects of real life in Cartagena, beyond the typical tourist experiences. It left a lasting impact upon us all!The accommodations were great. We loved the Casa Hobo and the amazing staff! Excellent food at every meal--we dined in several times and were treated to traditional Colombian cuisine. The week also included several meals out on the town arranged by This is Cartagena. They planned for a range of dining experiences that were occasionally adventous, but always delicious! Our three days at a private beach retreat were heavenly! The place came equipt with a beautiful pool overlooking the Caribbean, food served up under the palm trees, and daily excursions on speedboats to explore the nearby islands. It was paradise! What luck we had finding Rainbow and his team. We were so well looked after--leaving it all to come home was the hardest part!
Sam Bunting: Fantastic boat trip, super-helpful crew and exquisite sights. Would highly recommend.

Camilo de Molina E.: Great hotel. Excellent service. They care about every single detail. If you go to the bar ask for the Fizz Del Este cocktail.
Beige Matthews: Everything about this hotel is absolutely lovely and gorgeous. The location is spectacular and the staff is the best I’ve experienced in a very long time. The grounds are perfect and having Alma as the in-house restaurant is an absolute treat. If you want the boutique feel, but with luxury - no questions asked, this is the place to stay.
Brittany Mitro: We had the most amazing stay at Casa San Agustin. We honestly could not recommend it enough. We were in Cartagena on our honeymoon and this was the perfect choice for us.The staff was wonderful from the moment we arrived. The doorman helped us on numerous occasions when we weren't sure where to go (e.g., when we needed to find an ATM, or find somewhere for lunch) and was always so friendly. The staff at breakfast were also amazing - it always started our day off well (plus the breakfast food was DELICIOUS). The spa staff were also lovely, and the Passion for Life spa treatment was such a good choice - relaxing and romantic! The hotel itself was BEAUTIFUL - the way they use the original architecture (and the old aqueduct!) and created luxury rooms and a beautiful pool area meant we felt like we got a full Cartagena experience. The little library room where they had tea and coffee everyday was a really nice touch as well.We also took the opportunity to spend a day at their private beach property Acasi, which was a great way to see the Rosario Islands and get some beach-time in a relaxed and private venue. We highly recommend doing this if you are looking to venture out that way!Lastly, the location of the hotel was perfect - right in the centre of the walled city, among a range of fantastic restaurants - it really was the perfect choice for us.
Alison Rooney: Just left the property after staying for a week. I booked with FHR. The hotel is beautiful. The design and focus on Colombian history was gorgeous. I loved walking through it to see all of the art and design elements. What worked:Nice room upgrade and I loved the space. Well designed with a Nespresso maker and water provided. Lots of space to relax and a two tvs. The housekeeping was excellent and the room was well cared for. Turn down service was very welcome. The security and front door was always visible and they welcome everyone on arrival. Each person I met was kind and genuinely engaged in their role at the hotel.Breakfast was plentiful and some choices came off better than others. Dinner at Alma was quite good and I would recommend it.What needs work:Prior to arrival, I sent no less than 10+ emails to book airport pick ups, tours and dinners. All the messages went unanswered. I called. No one picked up. I booked my own dinners. For the activities, I wasn’t successful at getting these booked. The staff promised to follow up. Never did.I did a walking tour one day.Other than that, I did my own thing.I spoke with Paola and with Gladys. For some reason, the feedback didn’t make Ny measurable difference. The spa service was good but the manager kept trying to upswell me.Would I stay again?Probably not. I loved Cartagena!
Alexander Tucci: Horrendous Administrative Service - Our inability to reach the hotel led to an unfortunate situation where the administration refused to refund our payment or provide any flexibility for a future visit. It is strongly recommended to stay away from this place under all circumstances.Rooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 1/5 …More
Zara Whittier: Great placeRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Christiam Enrique Fischer Vargas: Boutique hotel in the walled city of Cartagena with a colonial style and a lot of history, excellent service from its employees
Beba: Excelente atención del bar ,los chicos super amables y atentos.. no nos hospedamos solo pasamos por unas bebidasFood & drinks: Excelente
Megan Boling: My boyfriend and I booked a couples massage and it was absolutely incredible! We've both had massages from various places and agreed that this was the best massage we've ever had. The facility was beautiful and immaculate. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Ciaia, Yerenia, and Ludy were amazing and made the morning so special for us. We definitely plan on coming back and hope to be able to stay longer at this hidden gem!
Ganesha Thirumurthi: A truly wonderful hotel. The ambiance is lovely and very peaceful. The staff are incredible - so helpful and kind. Special thank you to Katherine, Andres and Edgar. If you are considering staying here we'd highly recommend it. It lives up to the great reviews.Deep tissue massage in the spa was also wonderful and the setting is very relaxing.I proposed at the hotel and the staff couldn't have been more helpful.Highly recommend Casa San Agustin!
