Lorena LM: Absolutely amazing hotel, a truly 5-star experience! Staff are incredible and go out of their way to make sure your stay is pleasant. From Jesus welcoming special guests to the mayordomos (thank you Rudy, Diego, Amaury and Armando!) and everyone else in the hotel. The facilities are stunning and full of history and the food is amazing in all restaurants. I highly recommend the restaurant 1621 for amazing fine dining! Can’t wait to go back one day!
Vilma Barrios: I had lunch with my family, excellent attention, service and food
Karen McNeill: This place is worth every penny! The people are beautiful, welcoming, and most of all kind. The rooms are a little outdated, but for the most part you don’t spend a lot of time in your room. The hotel has everything you need and it’s conveniently located to shops and restaurants. The staff goes above and beyond to accommodate you. I highly recommend this place. They nailed “customer service”! I will return!
Luchy Cuentas May: Simply, the best place at all times... I highlight the warmth and simplicity of its collaborators...Food & drinks: Las habitaciones, sus áreas, su gastronomía, en fin todo es excelente. Es un lugar muy completo.
Gustavo Enrique Soto: Excellent menu served by high-level professionals
Juancho Arcilla: It was a flawless lunch. Pate of black and green olives, capers and anchovies on bread.Exquisite seafood casserole accompanied by Viognier blanc wine.Excellent prices

Barbara Olvera Muñoz: Beautiful property! All the staff is very professional, attentive and kind. My family and I had an amazing time during our stay. Kids loved the pool and the restaurant hostess were just lovely with the kiddos.Looved the selection at breakfast. During evening time staff performs a beautiful ritual lighting candles around the hotel, honoring its historical tradition of the claustro. Everything is link to its rich culture. So easy to walk around and get to know the walled city and the beautiful streets!

Almirante Cartagena Hotel: what do users think?
Estefany Parra Cardona: I think that a few years ago it could be called a 5-star hotel, but currently it is no longer. The photo of the pool is a lie, it's very small, so it's always full and apart from everything they close it at 8 pm. Very regular customer service, mostly from the people who serve breakfast and the bar located by the pool. There are many people offering tours at the entrance of the hotel, very harassing, quite annoying…
philip lawrence: I rate this hotel a Minus 1. I am in Cartagena EVERY 2 months and decided to try the Almirante. WORST thing I could have done. We checked in, me and fiancée, both WITH passports. The day after checking in, the hotel security team rushed the elevator we were using to go to our room and asked my fiancée if she was registered in the hotel, what an embarrassment, other guests looking etc., like we had done something!! THEY ASKED HER THAT BECAUSE SHE IS A COLOMBIANA, SO, THEY, THE SECURITY TEAM, RACIALLY PROFILED HER!! I Spoke to the manager the following morning and demanded they make things right for the embarrassment they had caused us due their inept security team (my fiancée cried the whole night because of what happened with the security team !!) The manager agreed that the hotel was at fault, that the security team never should have done what they did and that they would 'comp' us our room charges for the stay to make things right!!The problem is, THEY DID IT, and they did it because it has been tolerated all along, that is my problem with the whole thing She (hotel manager) fully agreed that what happened NEVER should have happened so, they would make things right.Just today, about 10 days after our trip, I was making another reservation at this hotel (because the hotel manager had, I thought. handled everything professionally) when I received an email from the hotel manager saying that She would not honor the room comp but would adjust an overcharge of about $35 from our prior bill. When I asked WHY, SHE SAID that she Never Agreed to the room comp in our meeting in her office on the day in question (I have emails from her admitting their security teams fault!!!! ) Money is one thing but, lies / integrity are another!!I judge a company by their word which is their integrity and not by the cost of services more times than not. With that being said, I would NEVER recommend this property to anyone as, I do not trust them, totally mis-managed!!!! I stay at the Dan Cartagena ALL THE TIME and have NEVER had any problems of any kind, and the rooms are twice the size with Balcony's and the hotel is ON THE BEACH, no walking to the beach!! DO yourself a FAVOR and run as fast as you can AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL PROPERTY. ALSO, THIS IS ABOUT A 3 STAR PROPERTY, VERY DATED AND VERY SMALL ROOMS (AND WE HAD THE BEST ROOM THE HOTEL OFFERED!! )

Alexander Pinzon: DANGEROUS... UNRESPONSIBLE... I stayed in this hotel in May, my mother suffered an accident around the pool and this hotel does not have trained personnel, nor do they have any protocol for these cases. My mom fell silent and lost consciousness for a few minutes and the lifeguard who was nearby brought me a cream to spread. The lack of knowledge in an accident like this is noticeable, an ambulance was never called to immobilize her, I had to pick her up after she fell and take her to the hospital in a taxi. The result of the fall was 3 fractured ribs and a vertebra. So far I have not heard anything from the hotel or from the hotel insurance company. If you are looking for a safe site with a greater sense of responsibility. do not stay at the hilton in cartagena.
Uwe Tropf: Alles ausgezeichnet.

Jay Clemmey: The Sanctuary takes you through the history of San Pedro Claver who dedicated most of his life to evangelizing slaves in Cartagena during the 1600’s. He was canonized as a saint in 1888 by Pope Leo XIII.You can spend a good hour or so touring the church, garden, artwork, and the rooms where Claver lived and worked. Highly recommend a visit if you’re in Cartagena.

Alessio Astolfi: I had the chance to visit the Santuario de San Pedro Claver during a trip to Cartagena, Colombia, some ten years ago, and it was definitely an incredible experience. I am a person who has a great love for history and culture, therefore I was very taken aback by this sanctuary's significant past.In the centre of Cartagena's historic area, the Santuario de San Pedro Claver is a beautifully maintained Jesuit church and convent from the 17th century. It bears the name of Saint Peter Claver, a Jesuit priest of Spanish descent who dedicated his life to assisting slaves who were taken from Africa to Cartagena. The sanctuary provided these slaves with food, shelter, and medical attention while acting as a haven for them during a trying moment in history. It was a significant symbol of compassion and hope. The Santuario de San Pedro Claver's architecture is extremely stunning. The facade's exquisite detailing and elaborate designs are evidence of the architects' and artisans' expertise and craftsmanship. The sanctuary's interior is as breathtaking, featuring magnificent murals, pieces of art, and sculptures that depict Saint Peter Claver and his contributions to humankind. The opportunity to view Saint Peter Claver's relics, which are stored in a small room inside the sanctuary, was one of the pleasures of my trip. The saint's skull and bones are among the relics, which serve as a potent reminder of the sacrifices he made during his life and the influence he had on countless others.Overall, anyone with an interest in history, culture, or spirituality should definitely pay a visit to the Santuario de San Pedro Claver. Everyone who visits will undoubtedly have a lasting impression of this absolutely exceptional and inspirational location.
Sebastian Fürst Fotografie - Hochzeitsfotograf: What a beautiful church and place ❤️❤️❤️
Walberto Martinez: His story is very beautiful and perfect to enrich your faith
Laelia Milleri Photography: Check the opening time before you go. On the day when we were there the church was closed until the evening, so unfortunately I didn't get to see it inside. Enjoyed watching the busy and lively area surrounding it.
TheFABYMARC: Excellent place to listen to the Eucharist, it is super fresh, spacious and I love the preaching of the priest, apart from its architecture it is worth admiring, I like the mass at 12, since afterward I can have a coffee and walk the streets of the historic center, they are a bit empty at that time
Carlos Hernández: Historic site of the walled city in Cartagena de Indias, with excellent cafes and restaurants around it
Kelly Cabrera: Beautiful
harold david gil muñoz: It is a good place to visit in Cartagena
Gabriel Garcés: Good experience for religious tourism. Rest the remains of San Pedro Claver. It also has a museum from the colonial era.

Javier G. Santos: Mixed feelings. The place is living history. In what is now a souvenir shop, you can see the impacts of English muskets. You sit in watchtowers where Blas de Lezo himself designed the defense of Cartagena and, therefore, access to current Latin America from the English invaders. You can look at the sea from the fort defense quote supposed that today the entire south of that continent is Latin and not just another British colony. There, 2,300 Spaniards broke 24,000 English, assuming the end of the English hegemony of the seas... But... It is so full of stupid tourists, taking pictures in every corner, climbing historic canyons that they are forbidden to climb. .. In short, if you are a lover of history, it is a must. But you have to go at noon, when the horde of tourists is crammed. Otherwise, you feel too sorry for what those brave men gave their lives to defend.

Leila Jamoosian: My husband and I had a lovely time in this hotel. It located in the center and despite the crowds around, the room was well isolated. The manager, Sheikh, and all staff were friendly and helpful in every possible way! Clean and spacious room, great food and service! Don’t miss the roof pool in sunset. Highly recommended!
Anand Vasudevan: Poor value for money hotel without a soul for a ‘boutique’. Great location, ok service.
Hervé Philippe: Great hotel, great location! Breakfast was really good with plenty of different options from fresh juices, to pancakes and viennoiseries. The manager Sheik was kind enough to find a solution when we had to leave one day earlier, thank you for that.Ask for a room in the back if you want something a little quiter

The lobby, dining area and other common areas are beautiful. It is a peaceful haven in a chaotic city. From the moment we walked in the doors to the moment we climbed into our taxi to head to the airport, the service was incredible. We could not fault the staff on anything. True 5 Star hospitality. All the staff were great, but special thank you to Sheik for looking after us.

Eva S.: The best hotel we have stayed in on our trip to Colombia. Beautiful, tastefully decorated, comfortable, very friendly staff, impeccable cleanliness…. All perfect!
Sara Lucía García Cabrales: The restaurant food is delicious! and the place is divine
Eduardo Arenas: Hotel management over sells the rooms and then start asking customers if we “wish” to move to another hotel from the same group. We were asked many times and ended up accepting to move for the last night. Also, the street were the hotel is, has late time bars and clubs with not very nice people and “girls” around until 3 am.Rooms and service and breakfast and food is good. Staff is friendly.
Tyler Peck: Absolutely loved this hotel. We were immediately impressed by the design throughout. It felt modern, but tasteful and not out of place. Our junior suite had a huge bed, tall ceilings, modern appliances, luxurious shower, and cute balcony overlooking the street. The rooftop pool area was breathtaking. The staff couldn’t be more friendly or accommodating. Only improvement would be thicker windows, but Centro is just inherently loud. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.
Sofie: Update: went by a second time for breakfast, and unfortunately there were none of the great croissants and the sourdough bread was replaced by some boring industrial white bread. Other than that, still a great place, but a pity with the breakfast. We stayed here as a family of 5. Everything was fantastic, it was the best hotel we have stayed in so far on our six week trip. The breakfast was fantastic (loved their juices and smoothies), the staff super friendly, the design well thought through, and the service spectacular (they went beyond what you can expect). The only but we have is that the street outside can be noisy at night, earplugs are recommended if you are a light sleeper.

Beige Matthews: Everything about this hotel is absolutely lovely and gorgeous. The location is spectacular and the staff is the best I’ve experienced in a very long time. The grounds are perfect and having Alma as the in-house restaurant is an absolute treat. If you want the boutique feel, but with luxury - no questions asked, this is the place to stay.
Brittany Mitro: We had the most amazing stay at Casa San Agustin. We honestly could not recommend it enough. We were in Cartagena on our honeymoon and this was the perfect choice for us.The staff was wonderful from the moment we arrived. The doorman helped us on numerous occasions when we weren't sure where to go (e.g., when we needed to find an ATM, or find somewhere for lunch) and was always so friendly. The staff at breakfast were also amazing - it always started our day off well (plus the breakfast food was DELICIOUS). The spa staff were also lovely, and the Passion for Life spa treatment was such a good choice - relaxing and romantic! The hotel itself was BEAUTIFUL - the way they use the original architecture (and the old aqueduct!) and created luxury rooms and a beautiful pool area meant we felt like we got a full Cartagena experience. The little library room where they had tea and coffee everyday was a really nice touch as well.We also took the opportunity to spend a day at their private beach property Acasi, which was a great way to see the Rosario Islands and get some beach-time in a relaxed and private venue. We highly recommend doing this if you are looking to venture out that way!Lastly, the location of the hotel was perfect - right in the centre of the walled city, among a range of fantastic restaurants - it really was the perfect choice for us.
Alison Rooney: Just left the property after staying for a week. I booked with FHR. The hotel is beautiful. The design and focus on Colombian history was gorgeous. I loved walking through it to see all of the art and design elements. What worked:Nice room upgrade and I loved the space. Well designed with a Nespresso maker and water provided. Lots of space to relax and a two tvs. The housekeeping was excellent and the room was well cared for. Turn down service was very welcome. The security and front door was always visible and they welcome everyone on arrival. Each person I met was kind and genuinely engaged in their role at the hotel.Breakfast was plentiful and some choices came off better than others. Dinner at Alma was quite good and I would recommend it.What needs work:Prior to arrival, I sent no less than 10+ emails to book airport pick ups, tours and dinners. All the messages went unanswered. I called. No one picked up. I booked my own dinners. For the activities, I wasn’t successful at getting these booked. The staff promised to follow up. Never did.I did a walking tour one day.Other than that, I did my own thing.I spoke with Paola and with Gladys. For some reason, the feedback didn’t make Ny measurable difference. The spa service was good but the manager kept trying to upswell me.Would I stay again?Probably not. I loved Cartagena!

Hotel Caribe By Faranda Grand: what do users think?
Jose Mejia: Muy bonito y con buena ubicación frente a la playaRooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view, Romantic, Quiet, Kid-friendly …More
Katherine Brown: Very few housekeeping, reception and food service staff speak English and those who do speak English it is very limited. Took 3 days to get face towels in this establishment. No one understood what I was asking for. Another reviewer talk about buffet breakfast was limited. Yes it is limited no it does not have American food options appeal. Signage not clear during breakfast, trying to order food from menu during lunch or dinner or even a cocktail was difficult due to no English speaking staff. Had to have Spanish speaking translator app. The facility itself is nice clean and Family resort type setting.
Marco Garcia Rojas: Muy bien servicio y su habitaciones son muy cómodas y amplias
Laurent Sandra: We had booked a Queen Bed room in the colonial part of this very well located hotel in Bocagrande. The welcome and the service are excellent. Of course there are small disappointing and/or surprising things for this category of hotel (towels sometimes worn, bathrobe more yellow/grey than white, dirty switches, tv which was not functional when we arrived, etc.) but overall it is a hotel that meets expectations and in which we had a very good stay. The breakfast offers a wide choice both hot and cold: pastries and breads could be better compared to Europe, the coffee is also not exceptional as one might expect in Colombia , on the other hand the many cut fruits are all very tasty. The spa/jacuzzi/sauna area is well appointed and offers good relaxing massages at reasonable prices. The staff is discreet, attentive and very helpful in general. Much effort is made to maintain the gardens and buildings. This hotel, with its history and its unique services, is a reference in this part of the city. We recommend.

Yaneth Mena: You just have to go. Words cannot describe this hotel!!! Fantastic, I enjoyed it. I plan on returning when I decide if I want to get married again, that is how good a place it is—many shops in the hotel.Rooms: Always clean, superb.Nearby activities: Private beach location and very safe.Safety: Wonderful and peaceful.Walkability: Locations to stores are within walkable distance, very safe, and good people.Food & drinks: OMG, are you kidding me? Was that food the best? Breakfast in the morning had a buffet and a la carte as well. All fresh, and the drinks were always on T.Noteworthy details: The staff, from the moment you arrive until you leave, are so helpful and humble. You always had a smile when you walked by. We went at the time of renovation, but it didn't interfere with our stay. Indeed a hotel worth spending time there

The coffee was great and the selection of books made for a fun browsing. They had tons of Gabriel Garcia Marquez, so if you are looking for that while you are in Cartagena (in English or Spanish), this is the place to go. If you are looking for some local literature from Colombia, or Spanish translations of some of your favorites, stop in here for a drink and a browse!
