Gajan: Plaza de Los Coches is a charming place to visit during the day with beautiful scenery and horse-drawn carriages. The perfect spot for a leisurely stroll. At night it becomes a hot spot for a pretty active night life which can be super fun. However, it's important to exercise alot of caution during the night as tourists and visitors are always oftenly targeted for robbery. Visitors should be wary of pickpockets and chain snatchers. Street vendors have been known to change the price of drinks mid-transaction and work in cahoots with the criminals. It's important to keep a close eye on your belongings and stay alert at all times.

Martin Aguayo Salas: Once you pass the arches under the Clock Tower, it is the starting point of a tour through the history of Cartagena. Where formerly slaves were sold, today it is still a place of commerce. Sweets, exchange houses, bars, clothing stores and much more. There is the monument to Pedro de Heredia, founder of Cartagena, and it is the corner of Calle de las Carretas from where the horse-drawn carriages depart for tours of the city.

H C: I wasn't able to sleep. They play loud music on their roof, and one night it played until 4am - the entire room shakes and there's no sound proofing. No hot water. No soap or shampoo available. We were 4 rooms and none was going well.The treatment of the staff has been terrible and the common areas with restrictions of use.They have laundry service and using it ALL the clothes shrank.The first day they offered us some tickets to a nightclub at a cost of 10,000 pesos and in the end those tickets to the nightclub were FREE, so be careful with the staff of that hotel who scam customers. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone

Nour Idriss: This place was recommended by a local after I begged for a recommendation for a quite place to spend the day with my boyfriend and it was perfect. Yes it didn’t have the beautiful turquoise blue water like the one in Playa Blanca and Playa Tranquila but the peace, service and food here and well worth it. We only spent the day. The owner will suggest car service to take you there and drop you off for a reasonable price. I had what was probably the best grilled fish during my month and a half in Colombia. The staff was super friendly and trust me after you experience the other busy beaches that are packed with vendors and people offering different services, you’ll appreciate the peacefulness and romantic vibes of this place.

Ali: The rooms were very dirty. The bathroom was technically outdoors which was not mentioned in the description. Last thing you want to see when using the shower is a giant spider on the showerhead. HARD PASS. The rooms were extremely dusty. There is no curtains, just open windows where everyone on the grounds can see and hear everything in your room so you have zero privacy. The mosquito net seem like it had never been washed. There were little holes in the net and gaps all over the edges of the room and we saw many geckos freely coming and going into the room. Since the only way to get air circulation in the No A/C rooms was to keep the windows open, the mosquito net was not very efficient as a result and it would fly off the bottom of the ground let mosquitoes and geckos in.Also, the location of the rooms in relation to the main road makes it seem like there is a helicopter constantly hovering over you. It was so loud (and not peaceful at all) that we were wondering if we were near a military base. Only to realize it was the echo of the cars on the road about 50 meters above the rooms.
Kristofer Johansson: A small and intimate hotel at an awesome location, right next to the water. There is a private beach that's very pretty and peaceful. One can relax in the seats there or place the hammock among the trees. The water is calm and of perfect temperature.The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and can arrange cheap transports to destinations in the area. The food and drinks the staff makes is delicious. There is also an "honour" bar with beers etc.The room was clean but simple with no AC. But there were plenty of fans and we had no problem sleeping at night.If you're looking for a peaceful and beautiful place in Barú to spend a few days, you can't find a better alternative than this.

juan castro: I went to have lunch the same day I went to the Aviario. The place is nice, clean and peaceful. It is well kept and the food was good with reasonable portions. Reason for not giving this place a 5 star. Prices are little high, and the wait time for lunch was over one hour. Everything else was good.

Benjamin Batdorff: I stayed here while scuba diving for 3 days. Bajo Perdito is one of my favorite dive spots near the island, plenty of soft coral. The hotel was clean, the food and drinks were good and the staff very kind and helpful. Water pressure in the shower is what I would expect on an island, and speed of service is also what I would expect. Relax, enjoy, there is nowhere to rush off to. I am very refreshed and looking forward to my next adventure. The only suggestion I have is a more eclectic music selection for the restaurant, 4 songs on a loop is not a playlist, that would be an easy change to make too.

Tons of good looking people, unfortunately I do not have the best salsa, the DJ was on point though. Food is great, the sushi bowl was super fresh. Don’t stay here for 5 days and expect a resort experience. This is a 2 night enjoy the grounds kinda spot.One thing, The entire complex is fenced in with pretty heavy barbed wire. I wonder whether that has anything to do with the small community that you can walk too and buy bug spray and snacks. Seem like really kind people but gave me a bit of a weird feeling with the heavy duty barb and fence and all.
rodolphe limouzy: Une auberge de jeunesse, entièrement a rafraîchir.Lucile n a déjà pas d'intérêt, et l'arrivée sur la plage privée de cette auberge donne le ton : 2 ou 3btransats sans matelas, 1 ou 2 parasols branlants...L arrivée sur les lieux : nous faire patienter 2h45 avant le check in...Heureusement, un gentil organisateur vient nous présenter le fonctionnement et l adn du secreto, tout un programme...Le Club en version ultra cheap !Nous avons ensuite récupéré les clés de la chambre, et là : la chambre donne sur les cuisines de l hôtel, une moustiquaire trop courte n'atteignant pas le lit...Nous avons donc demande l annulation des 2 nuits et le remboursement de la seconde nuit (ce que prévoyait le contrat), mais la responsable a refusé tout simplement !Étant dans un pays étranger, nous n avons pas fait de vague mais nous trouvons cela inadmissible de ne pas respecter le contrat!En bref, je ne recommande absolument pas cette auberge de jeunesse qui vend des chambres privées a un prix certain qui plus est!Enfin, le lieu n est pas du tout entretenu et paraît délabré.Seul point positif : le personnel du restaurant et le gentil organisateur sont sympathiques.
Marie Colsen: By far the prettiest hostel i’ve stayed in during my 4,5 months travelling! It’s really fancy for the price you pay. Also by far the best welcome i’ve had!!!!! From second number one I felt at home and welcomed by the extremely sweet staff members. They tell you everything you need to know. The pool and private beach are amazing too! The whole hostel is really clean and all the beds have their own fan so you don’t have problems with the heat while sleeping. The snorkel tour was really fun too. And the hostel is very social, It’s really easy to meet people at the pool and at the bar in the evening. They also organise salsa classes which was a lot of fun too! I think i’ve sayed something about all the aspects of the hostel by now, it really is a 10/10. Can’t wait to be back someday.
Natalia Andrea Suárez Avellaneda: Es un hostel con enfoque a turistas extranjeros principalmente europeos. Las habitaciones y los espacios en comun pueden mejorar ciertos aspectos de mantenimiento como la madera del techo, la ducha del baño y la piscina. De 2-6 pm retiran la electricidad en la habitación y esto solo te informa al momento del Check in. El personal es amable y dispuesto a atenderte. La comida me pareció genial. Los tours o actividades son variados y su precio me parecio acorde. La playa del hotel como tal no es muy bonita porque hay muchos manglares a su alrededor.
Cydney Yeates: I booked to stay here for five days and my experience was not great. Firstly, I would issue caution to solo travellers going here as during my stay it was mainly groups and couples staying here. The vibe is weird. The bar staff/activities guy are verging on creepy and constantly asked if I was going to the beach party and whether I'd dance with them.In terms of the accommodation, the cabins are in need of a bit of love. There are no ladders on the bunk beds, which means if you're on the top bunk you have to step on the bunk below to heave yourself up. The cables for the fans aren't long enough and the electricity is turned off during the day. The pools were dirty and looked like they both needed draining and deep cleaned. The beach smells like egg and the majority of the sun beds are broken, as are the parasols.Communication was lacking. There had been a few trips to a floating bar, however guests were only asked if they wanted to join five minutes before and not everyone was asked. Service at the bar and restaurant was slow, but luckily there is a town 7 mins walk away with restaurants. The female staff are the only saving grace. They were incredibly friendly and hospitable and kindly moved me after I made a request

Kelly Mercado Bolivar: Terrible service from the waitersI went with my friends to spend a cool afternoon, we arrived and they stared at us and turned their backs on us as if they hadn't seen us, then I had to raise my arm for several minutes so they could attend to us and it was a man who told the the waiter we were calling, said waiter saw us when we arrived and became literally blind, then the waiter came to the table and I told him why they did not want to serve us and he did not answer the question and immediately asked us what we wanted without having shown us a menu, and we immediately ordered some hamburgers and what a coincidence that there wasn't any and when we saw such lousy attention, we better leave the place, lousy service.

Mikael Hermansson: I had such a nice time here! For me it was a vacation within my backpacking, where it is quite expensive meals and smaller portions. And breakfast is not included, which I found out at the reception at check out. But over all! Really nice!
Paul Freitag: Also ich weiß gar nicht wo ich überhaupt anfangen soll. Ich bin über einen Discount von einem anderen Hostel auf dieses Hostel gekommen, der Discount wurde jedoch ignoriert und ich musste vor Ort den vollen Preis bezahlen. Dies ist wohl ein Trick um Gäste ins Hostel zu führen. Vor dem Essen im Hostel würde ich mich in Acht nehmen. Ich hatte extreme Bauchschmerzen und Krämpfe und die Urlaubstage waren die reinste Hölle. Der Strand des Hostels ist mit Abstand der schlechteste der ganzen Insel. Am Strand stinkt es extrem und das Wasser ist völlig verdreckt. Das Hostel wird als ,,Eco Hostel‘‘ bezeichnet, jedoch läuft Tag und Nacht ein Dieselgenerator um für Strom zu sorgen. Außerhalb der Zäune des Hostels wird der Müll einfach in der Natur entsorgt. Super Eco!!! Der Pool ist völlig milchig und sieht nach Pilzinfektionen aus. Jeden Tag läuft für 5 Gäste übertrieben laute Musik, was das Schlafen für die anderen Gäste unmöglich macht. Bei der übers Hostel gebuchten Rückfahrt wurde mein Reisepass, mein Laptop und meine Kopfhörer nass und alles ist jetzt nicht mehr nutzbar. Ich wurde vorher nicht gewarnt, dass hinten im Boot alles nass wird. Vielen Dank dafür nochmal an die Mitarbeiter!! Ich würde dieses Hostel wirklich keinem empfehlen!!!!
D'almeida Beyura: Si vous recherche un Hostal de luxe ce n’est pas du tout l’endroit!!! La plage est là plus sale de l’île ça sent littéralement les chiotes ! La piscine est Degeulasse parfait pour choper une mycose vaginale!! Les prix pour une suite est alarmante comparé au produit reçu! Pas d’électricité durant la journée obligation de charger son téléphone au bar , manque terrible de personnelle il faut attendre entre 1h30 et 2h pour recevoir son plat , la liste de désagréments est tellement longue je préfère m’arrêter.. seul point positive une partie du staff est vraiment sympathique et l’activité subwing est génial mais je vous conseil de rapporter votre propre matériel…
macrozl77: Not the best experience. Dont book a private room is not worth it. The vibe is weird eventhough the sea view is great. One of the receptionist had a terrible attittude some workers look really tired of doing their job. Food is delicious but a bit expensive. I would suggest you to try el hamaquero better environment. There has been people robbed outside of this hostel, even if its not their fault never happened before in the island. Snorkeling was fun.

Louise Curtis: Really nice hostel-the private room was very clean and comfortable, food was great, and staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Great service with meals and drinks etc. slightly pricey for a hostel but very worth it for Isla grande! Daily activities were good value too and easy to organise.. only thing is it’s not an ideal place if you are coming hoping for an early night-music is loud and goes until around midnight every day! There’s a beach here too which is ok-water is a bit murky but close by there’s some nice beaches to swim in!

A Google User: Wir hatten einen wundervollen Tag auf See! Ich habe meinen 24 Geburtstag auf dem Katamaran gefeiert und werde mich an diesen noch lange erinnern! Nicht nur war dieser totale neu, mit viel Platz und nett für uns dekoriert, sondern auch Toni und Mike waren als unsere Skipper total freundlich und haben uns in jederlei Hinsicht geholfen. Wir konnten unsere eigene Musik einschicken und dementsprechend die Fahrt in vollen Zügen personalisiert genießen. Es hat total viel Spaß gemacht sich auf den Netzen zu Sonnen, den Fahrtwind zu genießen und später ein kühles Bad zu nehmen. Unsere Skipper haben uns zu einen wundervollen Badeort in der Nähe von der Playa Blanca gefahren. Am Abend konnten wir auch noch den Sonnenuntergang an der Skyline von Cartagena sehen, das war fantastisch! Wie hatten einen tollen Tag und ich bedanke mich für dieses schöne Erlebnis!
