Loved that they offer season yellow rice which is not found in many places outside of North American middle eastern places.Chicken was well season, lots of amazing veggie options for toppings. Michael Jeffreys: I really wanted to like this place because we were so hungry, but I am so disappointed! Where do I begin… First of all we got completely annihilated by mosquitoes under our table which was a bit traumatizing. They did offer us some repellent but that didn’t help too much. They gave us some fresh bread which was really good, but the butter that came with it was way too sweet. Olive oil or plain butter would have been much preferred. As an appetizer, we ordered eggplant Parmesan but because they don’t know how to do it right, the eggplant had that bitter taste. There’s a simple technique to get rid of that using salt before cooking it. Next, we had the ravioli with Pomodoro sauce which was pretty good. The other plate we had was risotto with Alfredo sauce and it was terrible! We hardly ate any of it because it just tasted like rice with a mediocre cream sauce. But here’s the kicker that really hurt… They charged 14,000 pesos for a bottle of water! That’s absolutely ridiculous! There are several restaurants in town that give you a complete delicious lunch with a beverage for that price. I recommend avoiding this place and looking for something far better.

Narek Dshkhunyan: What a lovely hidden gem! On the edge of the walled town (but just steps away from the iconic Cafe del Mar), this might be the most well-kept secret of Cartagena! They have a beautiful and spacious garden area perfect for dates or family gatherings, and the band played great local and Latin music all night long, not the incessant party music of Cartagena restaurants. The chef himself checked on our table many times and recommended dishes, and of course the pasta he made was delicious.

Sandra: This place was quite a surprise. Firstly, my family and I walked into Carmen hoping to snatch a table for an early dinner. Well, with no reservation that plan backfired.Thankfully, the staff suggested Moshi. Moshi serves Japanese cuisine, and is nestled inside Carmen. I ordered the tasting menu w/cocktails and it was an amazing meal. This review was long over due, one year to be exact, and I can’t recall all of the dishes. However, if you’re a foodie and appreciate small surprises in every dish, then I recommend the tasting menu.
