The yacht was on time, beautiful, clean, and the captain and stewardess were fantastic. Of exceptional note however, was the quality of service provided by the team at Colombia Luxury Group. It was important to me to have the right accommodation, the timing, the venue, food, drinks, etc and Melanie coordinated everything beautifully! Priscila M. Hudgins: The crew and responsiveness was great. However they didn’t let us know that the boat would take 8hrs on sea (4 hours each way) to get to Rosario islands (on a regular boat it takes 1hour). They said they assumed I’d know about the speed of boats because I picked a sail boat catamaran, but I’m sure most people who book boats aren’t boating experts. In conversation I had also said the timelines I assumed would make sense (i.e. leave at 8 so we can snorkel at 9, get to island at 10 etc) and no one told me that wouldn’t work because leaving at 8 meant we’d arrive at 12. We also didn’t order food nor drinks for boat due to assumption of shorter ride. I recommend this company for its service, just please make sure you are aware of timing!

erika samaniego: The rooms are beautiful. The pool looks so much bigger in the photos, in reality it was small and one family with kids can take all the space of it. However they have a lot of space to sit and sip some drinks at the rooftop. The staff was kind and helpful. We arrived very early and left late in the afternoon and were allowed to remain in the public areas of the hotel and they held our bags while we explored some more of the city.Rooms: Big and cozy, nice view from balcony and great showers.Nearby activities: So many good restaurants and bars within walking distance. Getsemani is about 15-20 mins away walking.

C Woods: Stayed here for 7 days. Rooms are big and comfy. Tile floors so bring your slippers. Bathrooms are nice size. Showers are great. They have nice products in the bathroom. They offer a nicebuffet breakfast in the restaurant but you can also get made to order breakfast. Lobby is nice to kick it and chill but depending on when you go, you might become a buffet for mosquitoes. There is a room next to the outdoor lobby area and it's comfy and a great place to hang out. The rooftop pool is amazing and the views from up there are phenomenal. Pool area is the perfect place to hang out and drink. Internet connection could be spotty at times but wasn't too bad. Front desk was very attentive to any of our needs. Staff was extremely accommodating. Nice hotel to stay at inside the Walled City.

ANJLI SHAH: My husband and I stayed at Bastion for 4 nights. It is definitely not a “luxury” hotel for following reasons- as soon as we were allocated a room we realised the air conditioning unit was not working. The workmen did come and sort this out.We then realised our sink was getting clogged up and the water was not draining. This caused a sewage smell in the bathroom. We did let the manager know about this and he assured us it would be dealt with whilst we were sight seeing. Nothing seemed to be sorted. After 2 nights of sleeping in this room and finally making a fuss at reception they did change our room as they said the sink problem could not be sorted. However the second room we were allocated had a broken toilet roll holder, broken tiles on the bathroom floor, the shower wasn't draining quick enough hence was overflowing, the room telephone wasn't working. We did complain to the manager but he didn't seem to be too bothered. The room was definitely not fit to be allocated to a guest.- Breakfast was mediocre for a 'luxury' hotel! There were insects (fruit flies) all over the fresh fruit and the staff didn't seem to be bothered by it.The hotel is in a good location, slightly away from all the hustle and bustle but yet close enough. However I would recommend other hotels in the vicinity which are probably cheaper but have better service and rooms.

Nour Idriss: This place was recommended by a local after I begged for a recommendation for a quite place to spend the day with my boyfriend and it was perfect. Yes it didn’t have the beautiful turquoise blue water like the one in Playa Blanca and Playa Tranquila but the peace, service and food here and well worth it. We only spent the day. The owner will suggest car service to take you there and drop you off for a reasonable price. I had what was probably the best grilled fish during my month and a half in Colombia. The staff was super friendly and trust me after you experience the other busy beaches that are packed with vendors and people offering different services, you’ll appreciate the peacefulness and romantic vibes of this place.

Ali: The rooms were very dirty. The bathroom was technically outdoors which was not mentioned in the description. Last thing you want to see when using the shower is a giant spider on the showerhead. HARD PASS. The rooms were extremely dusty. There is no curtains, just open windows where everyone on the grounds can see and hear everything in your room so you have zero privacy. The mosquito net seem like it had never been washed. There were little holes in the net and gaps all over the edges of the room and we saw many geckos freely coming and going into the room. Since the only way to get air circulation in the No A/C rooms was to keep the windows open, the mosquito net was not very efficient as a result and it would fly off the bottom of the ground let mosquitoes and geckos in.Also, the location of the rooms in relation to the main road makes it seem like there is a helicopter constantly hovering over you. It was so loud (and not peaceful at all) that we were wondering if we were near a military base. Only to realize it was the echo of the cars on the road about 50 meters above the rooms.
Kristofer Johansson: A small and intimate hotel at an awesome location, right next to the water. There is a private beach that's very pretty and peaceful. One can relax in the seats there or place the hammock among the trees. The water is calm and of perfect temperature.The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and can arrange cheap transports to destinations in the area. The food and drinks the staff makes is delicious. There is also an "honour" bar with beers etc.The room was clean but simple with no AC. But there were plenty of fans and we had no problem sleeping at night.If you're looking for a peaceful and beautiful place in Barú to spend a few days, you can't find a better alternative than this.

Alexander Pinzon: DANGEROUS... UNRESPONSIBLE... I stayed in this hotel in May, my mother suffered an accident around the pool and this hotel does not have trained personnel, nor do they have any protocol for these cases. My mom fell silent and lost consciousness for a few minutes and the lifeguard who was nearby brought me a cream to spread. The lack of knowledge in an accident like this is noticeable, an ambulance was never called to immobilize her, I had to pick her up after she fell and take her to the hospital in a taxi. The result of the fall was 3 fractured ribs and a vertebra. So far I have not heard anything from the hotel or from the hotel insurance company. If you are looking for a safe site with a greater sense of responsibility. do not stay at the hilton in cartagena.

Station für Omelett und frische Säfte.Executive Lounge von 12-20 Uhr geöffnet mit kleinen Snacks, Obst, Limonaden und Kaffeemaschine und durchgehend mit 2 freundlichen Mitarbeitern besetzt. 18-20 Uhr gibt es kleine warme Gerichte, Vorspeisen, Nachspeisen, Bier,Rotwein und Weisswein. Es war bis auf das Wochende nicht überlaufen und hat eine sehr schöne Aussicht.Zu Fuss kann man mehrere Restaurants und Bars erreichen und durch Bocagrande bummeln, Ich habe mich auch abends sicher gefühlt.

Belen Berisso: Playa Blanca is one of the most amazing beaches ive been in Colombia, water is ina good temperature and totally clear! A dream come true! The typical picture of the idilic beach. However, you have to be mentally prepared for the living conditions: no tap water at all, you can shower by paying a minimal fare and they give you 6liters of clean water. You must bring water bottles or you can buy at the bar. It has electricity.Parador Playa Blanca is a small hostal (like all are) with the most caring and nice people ever! They are always available for anything you need and can help you arrange tours, etc. (The plankton night tour is a MUST) i stayed with a couple of friends in bedrooms with twin beds, they all have mosquitoe protecting net. The hostal has a pretty cool bar for local drinks and juices and you can eat there as well for a reasonable price. The menu often includes local fish (amazing!), pasta, chicken, etc.

Small but adequate beach, watch out for stinging algae. Site with a lot of difference in level from the beach to the main building: be prepared to go up and down the steps continuously. For such a beautiful location, it was lacking so many things including efficient service, up to date and properly maintained facilities, poor food quality, and NO WIFI!!There is a lack of care across everything in this resort. Paul Johnson: The Movich rooftop might be one of the best views in the old city of Cartagena and probably worth a visit particularly for a sunsetHowever be prepared to pay the highest prices in the city for cocktails and they are not very good. Just a shot of vodka or rum will cost 80,000 pesos (~$19 US dollars), which is close to 2x other high end restaurants in the old city.Despite the fabulous view we were shocked by the prices of the cocktails, which spoiled our visit.

But …. 2 very anoying points:1. the music was terrible, loud american pop music. We asked to change the music and they were clueless…. Saying it was the hotel radio. The music is so important for the ambiance, the full city is about salsa and good vibe, I can’t believe they don’t have better music than that to create a vibe.2. The service! We ordered 2 Dry Martini from the menu. The waiter said they can’t do them, they are out of gin. We asked then to replace by vodka. It got extremely complicated. And at the end, they charged double the price, saying they had to charge a shot of vodka (?) to replace the gin in the martini.. we argued, but the manager was rude and not client friendly. A big zero for the service.Unfortunately, although the view is amazing, go for some pictures and get your drinks somewhere else nicer !

We could see other rooftop bars and it had a view of the Plaza where a public concert was taking place. Erica Rojas Castellanos: The Decameron Cartagena in Bocagrande is the worst Decameron in the world. It's an ugly tower with no beach. With a very small pool with only one restaurant and no advertising site warns you that there will be no beach for 3 years, only until payment is made. Please avoid bad times, unnecessary bitterness or visit other hotels and other Decameron but definitely not this one in BOCAGRANDE.

You ask people about the activities and many don't know, they don't advise well, the snacks are not very good. The buffet food is excellent. The San Pedro restaurant is fatal and there is no air conditioning. They also did not tell us that the idea to Baru was so sought after and we were left without knowing.
