Estefany Parra Cardona: Creo que hace unos años podría llamársele hotel 5 estrellas, pero actualmente ya no lo es. La foto de la piscina es un engaño, es bien pequeña, por lo que se la pasa llena y a parte de todo la cierran a las 8 pm. La atención al cliente muy regular, más que todo de parte de las personas que sirven el desayuno y el del bar ubicado en la piscina. Hay mucha gente ofreciendo tours en la entrada del hotel, muy acosadores, bastante molesto…

philip lawrence: I rate this hotel a Minus 1. I am in Cartagena EVERY 2 months and decided to try the Almirante. WORST thing I could have done. We checked in, me and fiancée, both WITH passports. The day after checking in, the hotel security team rushed the elevator we were using to go to our room and asked my fiancée if she was registered in the hotel, what an embarrassment, other guests looking etc., like we had done something!! THEY ASKED HER THAT BECAUSE SHE IS A COLOMBIANA, SO, THEY, THE SECURITY TEAM, RACIALLY PROFILED HER!! I Spoke to the manager the following morning and demanded they make things right for the embarrassment they had caused us due their inept security team (my fiancée cried the whole night because of what happened with the security team !!) The manager agreed that the hotel was at fault, that the security team never should have done what they did and that they would 'comp' us our room charges for the stay to make things right!!The problem is, THEY DID IT, and they did it because it has been tolerated all along, that is my problem with the whole thing She (hotel manager) fully agreed that what happened NEVER should have happened so, they would make things right.Just today, about 10 days after our trip, I was making another reservation at this hotel (because the hotel manager had, I thought. handled everything professionally) when I received an email from the hotel manager saying that She would not honor the room comp but would adjust an overcharge of about $35 from our prior bill. When I asked WHY, SHE SAID that she Never Agreed to the room comp in our meeting in her office on the day in question (I have emails from her admitting their security teams fault!!!! ) Money is one thing but, lies / integrity are another!!I judge a company by their word which is their integrity and not by the cost of services more times than not. With that being said, I would NEVER recommend this property to anyone as, I do not trust them, totally mis-managed!!!! I stay at the Dan Cartagena ALL THE TIME and have NEVER had any problems of any kind, and the rooms are twice the size with Balcony's and the hotel is ON THE BEACH, no walking to the beach!! DO yourself a FAVOR and run as fast as you can AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL PROPERTY. ALSO, THIS IS ABOUT A 3 STAR PROPERTY, VERY DATED AND VERY SMALL ROOMS (AND WE HAD THE BEST ROOM THE HOTEL OFFERED!! )

Sanj Sukerkar: Amazing roof top, by far the best in Cartagena. Well laid out, not as claustrophobic as others! Get the club sandwich and shrimp cocktail entree. Paul Johnson: The Movich rooftop might be one of the best views in the old city of Cartagena and probably worth a visit particularly for a sunsetHowever be prepared to pay the highest prices in the city for cocktails and they are not very good. Just a shot of vodka or rum will cost 80,000 pesos (~$19 US dollars), which is close to 2x other high end restaurants in the old city.Despite the fabulous view we were shocked by the prices of the cocktails, which spoiled our visit.

But …. 2 very anoying points:1. the music was terrible, loud american pop music. We asked to change the music and they were clueless…. Saying it was the hotel radio. The music is so important for the ambiance, the full city is about salsa and good vibe, I can’t believe they don’t have better music than that to create a vibe.2. The service! We ordered 2 Dry Martini from the menu. The waiter said they can’t do them, they are out of gin. We asked then to replace by vodka. It got extremely complicated. And at the end, they charged double the price, saying they had to charge a shot of vodka (?) to replace the gin in the martini.. we argued, but the manager was rude and not client friendly. A big zero for the service.Unfortunately, although the view is amazing, go for some pictures and get your drinks somewhere else nicer !

HAROLD RANSOM: This place was recommended by our driver and it was spot on. Nice location, with beautiful views. We could see other rooftop bars and it had a view of the Plaza where a public concert was taking place. Food was good, margaritas were better than the mojitos.Food & drinks: Food and drinks were excellent.

Now that I need to reschedule, because we can just travel, nobody is taking charge and I have to go out and hire a new hotel because these cheeks wash their hands of it. They are scammers!

Yo venia con una herida en la pierna por lo tanto lo primero que hice fue pedir el kit de primeros auxilios. El hotel no contaba con un kit de primeras urgencias, lo cual es obligatorio. Por lo tanto tuve que curar mi herida lo mejor posible con lo que había disponible a esas horas. A la mañana siguiente I la de nosotros amanecio con una garrapata en mi piel, que claramente provenía de la cama del hotel ya que la noche anterior no la tenía en el cuerpo.Unas horas más tarde me comentan sobre una política de pagar por sábanas que tienen manchas de sangres, $150 COP lo cual un monto muy alto en un país como Colombia. Ademas es una política totalmente descriminatoria y humillante. Que pasa cuando una mujer mancha las sábanas por su menstruacion? Ambas situaciones son involuntarias y no representan un mal uso de las sábanas. Este tipo de situaciones ya deberían estar incluidas dentro del presupuesto de limpieza del hotel. Mister Anon: 3 nights was lovely. A very real charm to the place. Great location and surprisingly quiet given the streets nearby are extremely intense. Unfortunately the hot water was an issue (albeit most of Colombia has similar issues), the upstairs Jacuzzi/Bar was closed during high shoulder season ? and 1 particular staff member with a heavy lisp and almost no English was impossible to deal with especially during a travel emergency we experienced. (Yes I know it's not her fault for the lisp, but perhaps not the right person to be handling customer relations given her almost inaudible Spanish) Thankfully Ceasar who is a concierge and tour guide really went out of his way to help.

Christopher Sherman: Wonderful staff and beautiful accommodations. I cannot say enough great things about the staff. They helped arrange a covid-19 test to be done in our room and the results in 2 hours. The food was made to order eggs each morning with fruits and sausage. Nice little selection to get the day started. They have someone to help arrange any tours or needs that you may have. I spent 4 hours each day ready in a hammock and absolutely loved every minute of it. Will definitely stay here again when we return to Cartagena.

Cat Cat: It is a beautiful colonial hotel, very quiet, the rooms are very spacious. Because it is colonial and to give a warm touch to its environment, its lights are very dim, which makes it romantic, but perhaps there may be an alternative of more intense light inside the rooms for people who do not see well. It has a medium-sized pool, also a terrace and a spa, all very nice and well decorated.Breakfast is rich.What I highlight is the kindness of its staff, all very special and willing to help, which is essential to make the guest feel safe and happy.It is located at the beginning of the walls, diagonal to India Catalina and one block from the Serrezuela shopping center.

Rebecca Marks: Casa De Alba Boutique deserves more than five stars! Elegant with old world charm that makes it a a perfect complement to the ambiance of the walled city. Perfectly located and easy access to what Cartagena has to offer. Rooms are exquisite and very comfortable. It was lovely to have both pools and a beautiful front deck to enjoy fabulous food and watch the city life below. The staff is superb and made our stay wonderful in every way! Special thanks to Jefferson; he went above and beyond to create a wonderful experience for us and secured bookings for us at several amazing restaurants that we were unable to do on our own! We will be back to visit Cartagena and our friends at Casa De Alba Boutique!
