Palace of the Inquisition Cartagena Historical Museum: what do users think?
Janin Mei: The museum is very beautiful and informative. I went with a friend who doesn't speak Spanish and for her it was very boring because almost nothing is translated into English. Also, it doesn't take long to explore it- if you speak Spanish I recommend it.
Juan Diego Molina Montoya: The place preserves the nostalgia that only the passage of time can give to a place with so many years reflected on its walls.
Fáber Alexánder Gallego Obando: Nothing to do with the space that was one day. There is no guide service, closed rooms. It doesn't justify paying for what little it offers.
Chris Korpuze: Good little museum with the history of cartagena. Just a few translate in English. Cool to spent a hour their.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Not sure …More

Hugo Amigo: Know part of history! Religion is the man looking for God. Christianity is the story of a Deus of love that seeks to repay the home. The inquisition is an inferno raised by men who say they act in the name of God. Conheça a Cristo somente, ele é a Porta e o Caminho aos ceus.COMPLAINTIt was usually done anonymously, orally or in writing. It was the process in which the validity of thecomplaint, investigating to see if there were meritsenough to prosecute the defendant.QUALIFICATIONMoment in which the defendant was informed that he waswould initiate a process against him, This occurred in twoforms: Inquisitio Specialeis and the Inquisitio Generalis;in the first, individually the parish priest of thetown of the defendant took the summons to hishome, for the suspect to turn himself in forimprisoned. The second, in the absence of adetermined suspect, consisted of promulgating thecall in a space where there could beheretics, to give themselves up.CITATIONHe wanted the defendant to acknowledge that he wascommitting a crime against faith. The procedurewas in secret and was carried out in the presence of tworeligious, the notary and the inquisitorial judgeINTERROGATIONIf the prisoner did not confess during the interrogation, the procedure wasto the application of torture, under the premise that thetruth extorted through torture is validTORMENTJUDGMENTIt occurred if the prisoner resisted despite the torment and thecourt came to establish guilt.
Mari C: Museu impactante e recomendo pra todos que queiram saber mais sobre os absurdos da inquisição! Eu fui com expectativas baixas, mas valeu MUITO a visita.
Stephanie P. G.: I went on a Sunday in June/2023, the adult ticket is $23,000, there are three floors and it does not have an elevator, so it is an issue to take into account if your health does not allow you to climb stairs. The building has been restored and is beautiful, on the first floor are the exhibitions on the inquisition and human rights, a cool audiovisual recreating what it was like to blame and "prosecute" someone. On the second and third floors, it is related to the history of Cartagena. I like that the people from the museum are betting on showing Cartagena's Afro heritage as well. Recommended, if you have the chance to go, I recommend it.Of course, it would be nice if they could have guides to better complement the tour and tell some tourists that they should not step on or lie down... It would also be cool to have something more interactive with screens showing audiovisuals with oral history, with other people to give their perspectives and reconstruction of certain facts that are usually left out by the political / historical interests of the people.
W: A gloomy place, but with many stories.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait …More

Carlos Sotelo: Interesting facts about the inquisition are known
Dr. Abby: I love museums. This one was unfortunately the worst maintained one I've visited. I worry about how long some of their artifacts will last. Some exhibits are described in Spanish and English, but most in Spanish only. Overall, I learned a lot about how slavery, the Inquisition, and the fight for independence impacted the area.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No …More

carlos alamos: Few original samples. I expected more for such a historic city. Missing to see archive documents or exhibits of old pieces. Only 2 themes. inquisition and slavery
Gian Carlo de Melo: Não vale o ingresso. O museu está cheio de plotagem e poucas obras de verdade. Muita maquete, além de só ter 1 sala climatizada descente. No mais, muito quente.A parte de inquisição é melhor consultar informações on-line.
Miguel Prieto: Very disappointed. First of all, you need to pay to come in and then there is not even a/c. Barely any items on exhibition, just some panels with stories that you can read on any website
Maibeth Mejia: The Palace of the Inquisition is a place that houses all the history that the first settlers of Cartagena lived through. The facilities are poorly cared for, they lack maintenance, the bathrooms are poorly cleaned. It was not a good experience.
Elias Razo: Several rooms were closed and the exhibitions were incomplete. It is an historical building so I think the government should invest more on restore it.

José Vicente: They close very early, I am not satisfied that they close at 5 in the afternoon, that is a learning space, it should close at least at 7 pm, the people who serve are not friendly and it shows that doing their job is for mere convenience, they do not do it with love, much less dedication. The spaces are quite neglected and the paintings full of dust some.I only recommend going if it is necessarily important... But to see the museum I recommend others who are here in our city. The service is deplorable. to correct!!

Francisco Valverde B.: Worth seeing. Jewelry with excellent prices.

If I had the chance to go to Colombia I would go back again. Excellent service.
Manuel Alejandro Abreo Devars: I liked the jewelry.
Sean Moore: Very sad and terrible experience. I was followed into the bathroom and intimidated by some sobaka that works there. Been to over 65 countries across 7 continents and have never been treated as such. Terribly sad that in 2023 there are still people who have such poor mannerisms and education
Carlos Llera Novau: Curious exhibition-museum but it is a tourist visit, included in a City-Tour, which feels like an abuse of the tourist's time. Cheeky business approach.
Tom Hart: Visited in March. Took the jewelry making class, toured the museum and store. Our instructor, Ada, was so patient with us and we have handmade souvenirs to take home. (Plus my wife's purchase from the store) The owners even posed with my wife with her new necklace.
Mario Mazzei serrano: Excellent information on the subject of the emerald, its history, its exploitation and its use in jewelry.
Jaume Aleu Lorente: Little museum and many emerald shops, typical of the area. only for purchases

ANGÉLICA Faciolince: I have fond memories of this place that unfortunately closed.
Dina Herrera: This place unfortunately no longer exists in the historic center of the city.It was super delicious and cosy.
Cindy Vega Marin: It no longer exists
Veronica Rincon: Unfortunately due to the pandemic this place is closed, it's a shame, we really had high expectations. It's sad that places like this are finished by the pandemic.
Melo :D: I'm sorry for the people who want to visit the choco museum because they closed it due to a pandemic and the choco museum no longer exists 😭
Andres Ardila: No longer exists !
Christian Restrepo: There is two address, one address for some reason takes you to a small town a bocadillo which is ABSOLUTELY WRONG.The other address is in centro histórico which I do not know it exist as the address listed on google was totally wrong and gave up after being ripped off by mindless cab driver.
James Vinasco: It is a place you like, you are not only going to buy, they also give you a tour to tell you about the procedure with the cocoa, the flavors according to the regions. Then you can taste and buy from a wide variety of flavors and combinations
Yenifer: THIS MUSEUM NO LONGER EXISTS IN CARTAGENA
adriana espina moron: I loved. A spectacular site
Marc Van Baar: Sebastian was our master chef and guided us through 2 hours of making chocolates. At the end you make 16 to take home. Sebastian was great. Great way to escape throngs of cruise ship passengers if a cruise ship enters Cartagena: They will not do a 2 hour class
Luis Manuel Puerta Cassiani: Excellent
Natalie Mills: Loved it. Kids loved the chocolate workshop class making chocolates treats. Very educational and the staf(especially) Charlie, were patient and interested in sharing the chocolate process. Definitely worth the stop.
Oscar Augusto Vallejo Santos: Very good quality chocolate on the first floor, whose flavor is spectacular and on the second the museum part which is a bit sparse but attractive
Patrick Lawless: Great excursion from cruise ship. Learned about cocao peocess, tree to chocolate candy, plus uses of shells. Hands on making of our own candies and 3 different drinks. Guides were extremely informative and helpful and made the experience fun.
Leonel Arf: La atención y el chocolate
Arise Service Partner PF Kendra Jackson: The Choco Museo was the highlight of my trip. The service was exceptional and the experience was unimaginable.
Pedro Claver Redondo Padilla: Super
Marc Staveley: Took the chocolate making workshop with a great host. Actually learned more than I thought I would and had a lot of fun too.

PJSD: As a Historic House it is excellent to visit, but its administration is terrible and it is truly embarrassing. Rafael W. Nuñez 4 times President of Colombia and these srs who manage your house museum do not feel Pride or Patriotic duty to not even raise a Flag of Colombia and Cartagena in their house. Neither on National Holidays are they able to raise the Colombian flag. We need a lot of patriotism and love for our nation. Starting with these people who earn salaries, in which they have the work and the honor of taking care of these national monuments.
Ricardo Pedraza: House where the 4 times president Rafaél Núñez lived
Ernesto León Ibarra: A must visit historical site
Javier Martinez: The house of a president who gave us the Colombian constitution and the Colombian national anthem

Mariela MOYA HUERTAS: Availability of staff to make you know the history and importance of the Museum and learn a little more about Colombia and beautiful Cartagena.
Daniel Dupuis: Jolie mais une seule pièce à visiter : bureau bibliothèque.
john Torres: This house is very beautiful where President Rafael Nuñez lived. The bad could only visit the ground floor. Pity
