It was very history-heavy but I thought it was well-delivered and organized. You can tell he is very knowledgeable about Cartagena and its history! Definitely highly recommend his tour. I am only rating it 4 stars because the 2nd tour we did, the Getsemani tour, was quite bad. It was led by Arthur and we did not actually start walking until 45 minutes into the tour. At that point my partner and I were tired and figured it wasn't going to be that great of a tour (we were standing for 45 minutes!), so we left. He was also telling random stories that didn't seem connected or to have a big picture theme/message like Baurilio's did. TLDR: Do Baurilio's walled city tour!

We went on a tour on the first day of our trip and it ruined our trip. Aside from the tour we went on having being sold as a bioluminescence tour and not actually including that stop, we had a fairly nice day. The beaches we visited were fairly crowded with tourists but it was a nice way to get the lay of the land. Our guide was friendly.However, on the return to cartagena, the water got choppy. The driver had the music on loud and was driving quickly into the waves. All of a sudden, a huge wave came along and everyone in the boat went flying, smacking back down into the floor of the boat. I immediately felt sick, as did my friend, who had heard a loud crack.We had a horrible journey back after that as every bump and wave made our backs feel worse. Luckily for us, another passenger on the tour was a paramedic. He told the boat crew that my friend and I both needed to go to hospital. The boat crew called an ambulance and tried to make us walk along to meet it (any basic first aid training would teach you that moving someone with a spinal injury can risk nerve damage). We were taken to hospital and it turned out that we both had fractured spines (although my friend didn't find out for a further 4 weeks due to a mis-read X-ray - another saga). We were a group of 5 friends in our twenties and this happened on the first day of our trip. I was in Colombian hospital for three days and honestly, it was such a traumatic experience.It turns out that the boat driver tried to tell the insurance company that both my friend and I were standing up (which we were not) so that it wouldn't appear to be Nexxt Tours fault that we were injured.We asked for a refund for my friends and I. Considering, I can no longer do my job, could not enjoy the rest of my time in Colombia and almost couldn't get back home, this felt like a fair enough ask. I have since followed up by contacting members of the company but havent received any compensation. They offered us another free tour (which felt like an absolute joke, particularly as my medical report said I couldn't even go on a bus, let alone a boat), but we havent had any money back at all. Their insurance did cover some of our medical expenses in country but honestly, the company were far more worried about covering their own back in terms of legal liabilities rather than us being ok or having being treated fairly.The whole time I was in the hospital, someone from the boat company was there and making medical decisions for me. I have limited spanish but my friends and I were excluded from discussions and decisions about my health. No one from the boat company so much as apologised for what we had gone through.I have considered suing Nexxt Tours but even writing this review brings us so much stuff that the stress of reliving the experience feels overwhelming. Had Nexxt Tours at least apologised and refunded our tour, that would have been enough but as it stands it has left a really bad taste in my mouth.I don't normally write reviews at all but I really, really don't want anyone to have to go through the experience that we did. I would advise Nexxt tours to create some emergency protocol for bad sailing conditions and to provide basic first aid training to their crew as a very bare minimum. We were not even required to wear life jackets and so had the accident resulted in one of us going over board (which it so nearly could have) the outcome could have been fatal.

I choose the tour due to the good reviews and was SO let down. It was poorly organised from the start.Firstly they delegate the tour to Backpackers, who run the tour for 20 USD less than Nexxt usually charges. So it seems Nexxt just pocket the profit.We wasted an hour in the morning just checking in for the trip. We had to do so 4 different times as different people had different clipboards with our names on them. Then on the first stop at the fort, someone is just screaming facts without rhyme or reason, not allowing for questions or even to hear them properly.Second stop snorkelling, that was nice although sadly not much to see.Third stop a nice beach, but where we had uncomfortable plastic chairs cramped in a group together. This was obviously not possible since I was going back to the US! Rip off, avoid this company. They depend on you not being around long enough to fight back.

Ufuoma Odudu: Enthusiastic guide, willing and able to share a lot of history with us so the tour was decent. Would be nice to go further considering we've bikes but I understand this isn't always possible. E.g. to San felipe's castle would've been a good destination. We did go to another nice viewing point and left our bikes whilst another guide watched them.The city itself is not very bike friendly so not the most leisurely bike ride as you find yourself dodging walkers and cars but our guide gave good tips and help make sure we were prepared. Although called a "free bike tour," you pay 50,000 COP for the bike which is a fair price, but the bikes aren't well maintained. You can't adjust the size on many, mine was missing a bell and a wire poking out that kept scratching me. That's why I'm scoring a 3 for the bikes mainly and route but the guide was great. For example in Bogota there's a "free bike tour" and you don't pay anything for the bikes, just a tip so I don't want to hear that the money's needed for maintenance if they're not maintained!

Marta Tymoschuk: From Plazuela del Pozo, in Getsemaní, I traveled 6 km from the historic center of Cartagena de Indias, to the walls that surround the city. José was very knowledgeable in his descriptions, kind in the face of difficulties and more than generous because the excursion lasted more than 2 hours, because he wanted to know so much and the traffic in Cartagena was very dense with the IronMan event. Excellent excursion. I suggest that cycling tourists wear a helmet.

It's a great way to see the city and experience a little bit of Colombia culture. Jose and Miret make sure you are well taken care of and leave the tour feeling full. Just note that if you come on a day when cruises are in town, be prepared to navigate through hordes of tourists. But even with the biking, Jose, Miret and their team make sure you are comfortable and safe. I would recommend this tour to anyone!

Mis padres y yo hicimos un tour a las Islas de Rosario, que supuestamente incluía la isla semiprivada Pa'ue y una lancha comoda para pocas personas tanto como diferentes refrescantes. El empleado fue muy amable, sin embargo nos vendió un tour de 4 islas que era totalmente diferente a lo que nos mostraba en las fotos en la oficina de Ecoway Tours a la hora de la compra. Vimos solo 3 islas, nunca llegamos a Pa'ue y la lancha era lo peor, era muy pequeña, incomoda y hubo mucha gente. Terminamos en alguna parte de Playa Tranquila, lo cual nunca formaba parte del tour. Siento que realmente se abusaron de nosotros, cosa que es común en Cartagena pero deja un sabor amargo de todo el viaje, ya que habíamos pagado alrededor de 60€ por persona.El empleado me preguntó como nos fue, cuando le comenté mis dudas me respondió que se había equivocado y las condiciones no eran las que nos había comentado. Cuando le hice más preguntas, me ignoró por completo y no me volvió a hablar.En fin, mal servicio, no lo recomiendo para nada.

N Lima: The return trip from Isla Palma to Cartagena was horrible! The boat is not at all suitable for transport in such a stormy sea, all the luggage got wet (including handbags with electronic devices etc.), although we were confirmed before departure that the luggage would be stored safely. People on the boat were crying and screaming in fear and the staff was ignorant. Absolutely not recommended!!!

Paul Eduardo: Jamás pensé que el regreso de isla palma iba hacer tan malo, las lanchas no son las adecuada para realizar ese traslado en el mar picado cómo se pone esa parte (qué es siempre), esas pequeñas embarcaciones se levanta muchos por el oleaje y generan golpes en la espalda y ocasionan qué la gente entre en pánico. Por la cantidad de personas que mueven en ese trayecto les recomiendo buscar un barco más grande tipo catamarán de 55pies o algo similar donde se pueda ir más cómodo.
