Jeanine Lucarelli: I unfortunately had a very unpleasant experience with This is Cartagena. I had booked a trip to Blue Apple Beach through this company for a Sunday, i got an email confirming that i was all set and ready to go for me and 3 other people. I then received an email the next day saying unfortunately there is no availability for Sunday (after i already got a confirmation) and was asked if i would like to go Monday, and without an argument i said no problem. I received a confirmation to meet at their office at 10:30AM, and that's exactly what i did. The office was closed (due to a holiday that i would have no idea about because i was just vacationing and it was never mentioned when they had me move my reservation to this day) So we called and called and then i emailed and finally got a hold of someone and they said they were having someone come pick us up, and would refund me for the at least the transportation. At this point my friends and i have already got in a taxi to get on a boat to make sure we can enjoy the day at the island we had all paid for already, not only did we have to pay for a taxi, we had to pay a decent amount of money to get us to an island by a different boat. Not only did they refuse to refund me for what was their mistake after they said they would, they ignored my last email asking them to reconsider that decision. So for anyone visiting Colombia, i don't recommend going through this company, Blue Apple Beach was great once we were there so i would just find another way to get there so you don't have to pay double like we did.
Brad Worthington: I did two tours with them. They were very helpful on both occasions. The Rosario islands was nice but pretty basic. The Tierra Bomba bike tour was great. It was fun and informative. The tour guides, Valerie and Cindy, were very helpful and went over the top to help.

s heydt: One of the best best vacations we've ever taken! Rainbow Nelson and his talented team looked after every detail of our nine days in and around Cartagena. We traveled with our three children and my parents--there was something fun for everyone. This Is Cartagena planned wonderfully creative adventures for us each day, like a treasure hunt for the kids, salsa dancing lessons, chocolate making, floating in a mud volcano, tours through the market and a gondola ride through the mangroves. They arranged for daily Spanish lessons (Gustavo was fantastic with the kids!) and private tours with dynamic, talented guides (Ronaldo and Alex!). We chose Colombia because we hoped to expose our children to other cultures and ways of life. I'll admit I was a little nervous to travel there, but we felt safe at every moment--and I appreciated the efforts they made to Introduce us to aspects of real life in Cartagena, beyond the typical tourist experiences. It left a lasting impact upon us all!The accommodations were great. We loved the Casa Hobo and the amazing staff! Excellent food at every meal--we dined in several times and were treated to traditional Colombian cuisine. The week also included several meals out on the town arranged by This is Cartagena. They planned for a range of dining experiences that were occasionally adventous, but always delicious! Our three days at a private beach retreat were heavenly! The place came equipt with a beautiful pool overlooking the Caribbean, food served up under the palm trees, and daily excursions on speedboats to explore the nearby islands. It was paradise! What luck we had finding Rainbow and his team. We were so well looked after--leaving it all to come home was the hardest part!

Her customer experience skills are superb.We arrived a couple of hours before checking, she graciously provided a hospitality room for us to change our clothes. While we were out exploring the city, she had our luggage conveniently transported to our room and emailed me. I appreciate the level of service she provided!Rooms: We booked a suite and it was just what we needed; 2 rooms 1 master and 2nd room with 2 twin size beds. Balcony overlooking the water. The pullout couch was super convenient for our family of 5 and the room was spacious.Safety: One of the reasons we decided to stay at the Hyatt was for safety purposes. We have stayed at the Hyatt in other countries and felt extremely safe.I like the idea of having to take 2 sets of hotels to get tothe room. This provides a layer of security bc you gave to go to the main lobby to access the room elevator.Walkability: The hotel is conveniently located in Boca Grande, next to a mall with many shops and in front of a grocery store. It's a couple of mins away via Uber to the Walled City.Food & drinks: We had room service, the food was good and priced reasonably. The drinks by the pool were amazing. We ordered mojitos and they were great!

The views are gorgeous, though it is such a shame the beach is being completely rebuilt so during our stay we just saw construction every day by the water. The service was exceptional and the restaurants were all great. All of the pools have a great view and are never too busy.

Lorena LM: Absolutely amazing hotel, a truly 5-star experience! Staff are incredible and go out of their way to make sure your stay is pleasant. From Jesus welcoming special guests to the mayordomos (thank you Rudy, Diego, Amaury and Armando!) and everyone else in the hotel. È stata un'esperienza divina: servizio impeccabile, cibo squisito (colazione DA SOGNO) e infrastruttura meravigliosa. Unica pecca la mancanza di chiarezza riguardo il sistema delle mance. In Colombia è usanza lasciare una mancia pari al 10% del totale del conto. Ma non ci hanno spiegato bene che al momento del check out, per ogni notte ci hanno addebitato (con un sistema di mance centralizzato) circa 40€ (!). Il problema è che la mancia comunque dovrebbe essere una cosa volontaria, ma al momento di firmare ogni conto, comunque ti viene chiesto quanto desideri lasciare come mancia... Quindi abbiamo dato mance a ogni pasto, cocktail ecc. e in più ci hanno addebitato quei 40€ per ogni giorno che hanno aumentato cospicuamente il saldo da pagare a fine soggiorno. Comunque sia consigliatissimo!!!!!

Karen McNeill: This place is worth every penny! The people are beautiful, welcoming, and most of all kind. The rooms are a little outdated, but for the most part you don’t spend a lot of time in your room. The hotel has everything you need and it’s conveniently located to shops and restaurants. The staff goes above and beyond to accommodate you. I highly recommend this place. They nailed “customer service”! I will return!

erika samaniego: The rooms are beautiful. The pool looks so much bigger in the photos, in reality it was small and one family with kids can take all the space of it. However they have a lot of space to sit and sip some drinks at the rooftop. The staff was kind and helpful. We arrived very early and left late in the afternoon and were allowed to remain in the public areas of the hotel and they held our bags while we explored some more of the city.Rooms: Big and cozy, nice view from balcony and great showers.Nearby activities: So many good restaurants and bars within walking distance. C Woods: Stayed here for 7 days. Rooms are big and comfy. Tile floors so bring your slippers. Bathrooms are nice size. Showers are great. They have nice products in the bathroom. They offer a nicebuffet breakfast in the restaurant but you can also get made to order breakfast. Lobby is nice to kick it and chill but depending on when you go, you might become a buffet for mosquitoes. There is a room next to the outdoor lobby area and it's comfy and a great place to hang out. The rooftop pool is amazing and the views from up there are phenomenal. Pool area is the perfect place to hang out and drink. Internet connection could be spotty at times but wasn't too bad. Front desk was very attentive to any of our needs. Staff was extremely accommodating. Nice hotel to stay at inside the Walled City.

Jordan helped find us reservations and hooked us up with a great walking tour with a local, Aura. Highly recommended. Only thing that I didn't like is they wouldn't heat up my leftovers. ANJLI SHAH: My husband and I stayed at Bastion for 4 nights. It is definitely not a “luxury” hotel for following reasons- as soon as we were allocated a room we realised the air conditioning unit was not working. The workmen did come and sort this out.We then realised our sink was getting clogged up and the water was not draining. This caused a sewage smell in the bathroom. We did let the manager know about this and he assured us it would be dealt with whilst we were sight seeing. Nothing seemed to be sorted. After 2 nights of sleeping in this room and finally making a fuss at reception they did change our room as they said the sink problem could not be sorted. However the second room we were allocated had a broken toilet roll holder, broken tiles on the bathroom floor, the shower wasn't draining quick enough hence was overflowing, the room telephone wasn't working. We did complain to the manager but he didn't seem to be too bothered. The room was definitely not fit to be allocated to a guest.- Breakfast was mediocre for a 'luxury' hotel! There were insects (fruit flies) all over the fresh fruit and the staff didn't seem to be bothered by it.The hotel is in a good location, slightly away from all the hustle and bustle but yet close enough. However I would recommend other hotels in the vicinity which are probably cheaper but have better service and rooms.

Our entire journey was meticulously planned to the finest detail, with the convenience of a flexible rescheduling policy to accommodate unforeseen issues.Locating the ship was an effortless task due to its unique, easy-to-identify stature. It might be smaller compared to others, but its authentic ship architecture sets it apart. Unlike makeshift vessels cobbled together from spare parts (as seen in the competition), this ship exudes the essence of true maritime tradition. Overall, a fantastic adventure that I wholeheartedly recommend!

They helped arrange transportation from the cruise terminal and had excellent communication with us despite last minute itinerary changes. The sailing was smooth and enjoyable on a hot humid day. Luis Carlos Carvajal: The activity allows to obtain very beautiful views of the bay of Las Ánimas and the bay of Cartagena.Indeed, lemonades can be taken with or without rum that one likes.The boat, being large, minimizes the sway of the tide, in addition to allowing one to move on the deck with enough freedom to observe different points and take pictures.The staff is friendly.The only detail in the case of the tour on January 13, 2023, was that the staff on board limited themselves to recording in English about some iconic aspects and places. In Spanish there was no explanation or live animation either.The two hours are spent well, due to the experience and cists that are obtained.

Stanley Anderson: I went and rode the boat back in August. Really enjoyed entire experience. The boat looks small on the dock but it moves fast and doesn't rock. You won't get sea sick. There's complimentary drinks and a full tour of various sites on the bay. It's a great way to enjoy a night before going back to tour the town.
