There is a tiny access to the sea but no beach, we got non-stop bothered by people trying to sell us something and the smell of gasoline from the boats & jetskis was unbearable. Food was okay but too expensive, massage was meh and then we got rushed out. Went to other islands further out (eg Rosario) and had a much better time
Adya Maddox: lots of experiences in Cartegena seem to be based on skin color so going to say that we are a group of five black woman. We came over here for a day trip. They first tried to put too many people on the boat coming over here and wanted 4 people to sit in rows clearly for 3 people. When we arrived to the beach club we were given pretty cold welcomes by staff and it was difficult to get service. Only one of the waitresses was even nice to us so thank you to .. for your service. Everyone else was pretty rude. If you’re going to advertise drinks that come with a meal you need to specify that you can only get the drink that the hotel chooses to give us. That’s called false advertising. In addition it was also stated that the environment would be free from buying pressure. But there was pressure from vendors the whole day and were very disturbing to the peace The whole reason we chose this experience was to have a break from the vendors. So I feel like we overpayed for nothing. Just go to castillogrande and barter with the lanchas to get a fare over to Tierra bomba and go to any chill bar. Way better than wasting money for an experience that was not as advertised. Also Namaste I’d like your establishment to be aware that pesos from Black people and white people are the same so you need to treat us the same. Ridiculous.

The staff is friendly and really care about the satisfaction and good experience - but also not too intrusive. I am already looking forward to going back next year for few nights. Also, whoever is complaining about the beach and water - it is true it is not idealistic clear blue water, but still nice blue water. I loved it. The private beach access is nice and looked after. Also, the whole resort is peaceful and you feel connected to the nature - which I really enjoyed. Overall, really good and beautiful experience and looking forward to coming back next year! Also, I don't speak Spanish much. The staff members translated meditation and ceremony - which was really nice. I really appreciated that and now on a mission to learn Spanish haha

Constanza Balboa: Para empezar, me iban a cobrar un precio mucho mayor al valor de la reserva, tuve que reclamar para que respetaran el valor. Luego me entregaron un auto (Chevrolet Trailblazer) que venía sucio, nos hicieron pagar por el lavado del vehículo que usaríamos y nos entregaron uno que hasta tenía un cuesco de manzana en la zona para botellas, ademas salía un mensaje para mantención de llantas, llame a asistencia en ruta por dicho mensaje quienes me dijeron que se requería cambio de vehículo, tuve que volver a la concesionaria (perdiendo mucho tiempo en todo esto) para que me dijeran que ese mensaje siempre salía en estos modelos y no pasaba nada, al final terminaron cambiándome el auto igual ya que la pantalla touch no funcionaba, intentamos que nos dieran otro tipo de vehículo pero al final fue cambio por mismo modelo donde también salía mensaje de alineación de llantas. El auto tenía vidrios tan polarizados que dificultaba la vista, también con fallas en pantalla touch que no nos dejaba hacer ningún cambio dentro de esta, los vidrios delanteros no funcionaban bien, en ovaciones había que esperar para que se “destrabaran”, el cinturón de seguridad se encontraba malo. La verdad muy mala experiencia, no recomiendo su empresa.

Nour Idriss: This place was recommended by a local after I begged for a recommendation for a quite place to spend the day with my boyfriend and it was perfect. Yes it didn’t have the beautiful turquoise blue water like the one in Playa Blanca and Playa Tranquila but the peace, service and food here and well worth it. We only spent the day. The owner will suggest car service to take you there and drop you off for a reasonable price. I had what was probably the best grilled fish during my month and a half in Colombia. The staff was super friendly and trust me after you experience the other busy beaches that are packed with vendors and people offering different services, you’ll appreciate the peacefulness and romantic vibes of this place.

Ali: The rooms were very dirty. The bathroom was technically outdoors which was not mentioned in the description. Last thing you want to see when using the shower is a giant spider on the showerhead. HARD PASS. The rooms were extremely dusty. There is no curtains, just open windows where everyone on the grounds can see and hear everything in your room so you have zero privacy. The mosquito net seem like it had never been washed. There were little holes in the net and gaps all over the edges of the room and we saw many geckos freely coming and going into the room. Since the only way to get air circulation in the No A/C rooms was to keep the windows open, the mosquito net was not very efficient as a result and it would fly off the bottom of the ground let mosquitoes and geckos in.Also, the location of the rooms in relation to the main road makes it seem like there is a helicopter constantly hovering over you. It was so loud (and not peaceful at all) that we were wondering if we were near a military base. Only to realize it was the echo of the cars on the road about 50 meters above the rooms.

One can relax in the seats there or place the hammock among the trees. The water is calm and of perfect temperature.The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and can arrange cheap transports to destinations in the area. The food and drinks the staff makes is delicious. There is also an "honour" bar with beers etc.The room was clean but simple with no AC. But there were plenty of fans and we had no problem sleeping at night.If you're looking for a peaceful and beautiful place in Barú to spend a few days, you can't find a better alternative than this.

The photo of the pool is a lie, it's very small, so it's always full and apart from everything they close it at 8 pm. philip lawrence: I rate this hotel a Minus 1. I am in Cartagena EVERY 2 months and decided to try the Almirante. WORST thing I could have done. We checked in, me and fiancée, both WITH passports. The day after checking in, the hotel security team rushed the elevator we were using to go to our room and asked my fiancée if she was registered in the hotel, what an embarrassment, other guests looking etc., like we had done something!! THEY ASKED HER THAT BECAUSE SHE IS A COLOMBIANA, SO, THEY, THE SECURITY TEAM, RACIALLY PROFILED HER!! I Spoke to the manager the following morning and demanded they make things right for the embarrassment they had caused us due their inept security team (my fiancée cried the whole night because of what happened with the security team !!) The manager agreed that the hotel was at fault, that the security team never should have done what they did and that they would 'comp' us our room charges for the stay to make things right!!The problem is, THEY DID IT, and they did it because it has been tolerated all along, that is my problem with the whole thing She (hotel manager) fully agreed that what happened NEVER should have happened so, they would make things right.Just today, about 10 days after our trip, I was making another reservation at this hotel (because the hotel manager had, I thought. handled everything professionally) when I received an email from the hotel manager saying that She would not honor the room comp but would adjust an overcharge of about $35 from our prior bill. When I asked WHY, SHE SAID that she Never Agreed to the room comp in our meeting in her office on the day in question (I have emails from her admitting their security teams fault!!!! ) Money is one thing but, lies / integrity are another!!I judge a company by their word which is their integrity and not by the cost of services more times than not. With that being said, I would NEVER recommend this property to anyone as, I do not trust them, totally mis-managed!!!! I stay at the Dan Cartagena ALL THE TIME and have NEVER had any problems of any kind, and the rooms are twice the size with Balcony's and the hotel is ON THE BEACH, no walking to the beach!! DO yourself a FAVOR and run as fast as you can AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL PROPERTY. ALSO, THIS IS ABOUT A 3 STAR PROPERTY, VERY DATED AND VERY SMALL ROOMS (AND WE HAD THE BEST ROOM THE HOTEL OFFERED!! )

Benjamin Batdorff: I stayed here while scuba diving for 3 days. Bajo Perdito is one of my favorite dive spots near the island, plenty of soft coral. The hotel was clean, the food and drinks were good and the staff very kind and helpful. Water pressure in the shower is what I would expect on an island, and speed of service is also what I would expect. Relax, enjoy, there is nowhere to rush off to. I am very refreshed and looking forward to my next adventure. The only suggestion I have is a more eclectic music selection for the restaurant, 4 songs on a loop is not a playlist, that would be an easy change to make too.

Eve Desroches: Hôtel situé sur une île, magnifique.Complexe avec piscine et activités.Belle piscine, on se sent en vacance. Personnels tres gentils et serviable.Par contre, nous y allons pour la bioluminescence et malheureusement nous n'avons rien pu voir.Il n'y a pas de plageNous avions une chambre près de la réception et il y avait de la musique forte qui semblait venir de la cuisine ou des chambres du personnel. La musique a cessé vers minuit mais dès 6h am ils l'ont remis.

Beatriz Corbella: It is located in a wonderful place. The service and attention of the staff unbeatable. The only negative is the very small and outdated bathroom.
Kevin Boel: Hotel needs a fix up. Things were falling apart (showerbutton, sinkbuttons too, not enough water in pool, loud generator,...). The service was kind, but a short english lesson could do wonders. No wifi in room, and not working very well at other places... and the 'business account' via whatsapp did not help/answer.Location was good. But the price was too high for this kind of aged facilities.
