Cookie Maldonado-McQ: We have had a wonderful time at this boutique hotel. From the minute we checked in we felt at home and safe! I read reviews in past and have had no issues what so ever . Sergio on operations was amazing as well as all the lovely ladies at breakfast and the bar area. Rooms cleaned in a timely manner. 2 things to remember, bring bug spray if you are prone to getting bitten and sewer system can be delicate and so tissue is recommended to be placed in trash can which took some getting used to. I would stay again. Breakfast included is lots of variety and great juices!
Jessyca Bustamante Londoño: I was there last year in December on a day at the SPA with my husband. I have no complaints about the massage, but I do have a lot to say about the care and poor communication and misinformation that exists between workers. That day we chose several things from the menu and then they charged us a different value because the menu no longer had those prices but they had not changed it on the website, the solution was to give us two lemonades which we did not even drink because we were super full.Last week I wrote to schedule a massage for a gift and they shared a letter with some prices on Instagram, to schedule they asked me for the information since they had to communicate with me from reception, when they wrote to me from reception, they sent me a totally different letter , the prices with a variation of 40,000 pesos, I told them that this was not the letter sent at the beginning and they simply said that this was the price, period. Not even to assume his mistake and give a courtesy drink so as not to lose the client.I'm sure the administrator or manager is not aware of this situation, because I don't think they would allow something like this to happen.
Gini Standard-Sheader: This place definitely isn’t a 5 star hotel. It’s probably a 3 star property. The staff were nice and our room was ok but it had a weird damp smell to it and the bathroom was tired and felt dirty. We also got woken up at 4:30am by a very drunk guy blasting music for 2 hours.
Parviz Tehranfar: In general hotel was good, but they charged us 177,000 Peso extra and when we asked about it, the staff told us that it is tax. We paid the extra amount but one of our friend in group knows Spanish and discuss with them and they confirm it is not tax and it was insurance of our luggage which is optional and they added to our bill without our permission. As soon as we complained they returned $126400 Peso. I believe they are cheating in this way and get more money from the guests. Please check your bills and do not trust them at all.Rooms: It is very old building and i noticed a couple spots with mold in our room and cracks on walls

Mateo Gomez: DO NOT STAY HERE ! Save yourself the frustration, time , and rudeness.Attention Diego M general manager I hope this review finds you . I would love to give your hotel a higher rating. If it wasn’t for such rude front desk staff, I would give your Hotel four out of five however We had such horrible experience checking in and it was all due to Jorge the front desk attendant and self proclaimed manager . So you get only 1 star. Jorge was so rude and not accommodating that it Made the entire stay a huge regret . I will explain the situation, we (my dad mom , gf and myself ) are visiting Cartagena for Easter , we are US citizens, we have lived in United States for over 35 years. We also happen to have dual citizenship in Columbia. Upon checking in Jorge explained that we would have to be charged as Colombian residents which means an additional tax would be added to the bill. We explained to him. We are not residents of Colombia, We live in the United States and we provided him our American passports and more to make our case. he was persistent in saying there’s nothing he could do and we will have to be charged extra tax. This is not true , he could’ve take used OUR US passports but he chose to be unhelpful and rude during the whole exchange. Additionally, We were traveling with my girlfriend who is a US born citizen. We requested/ stated she would be paying the bill and reservation to be under her name. Jorge refused to put the reservation under her name and he professed hotel /he could not waive the Colombian resident tax because there’s four of us and we have two rooms so it can’t be one reservation .. huh that doesn’t make sense at all ..right ? . We said if she is paying with her credit card for both rooms and she is a US resident and citizen , we don’t understand the complication with our request and why he can’t help. Jorge why did you choose to not accommodate us ? What do you have against colombian ex-patriots ???Jorge got his general manager on the phone, and we asked to speak to Diego the GM but Jorge ignored us and finished the call with out Putting us in touch with GM.At this point we already felt like we were treated rudely and didn’t even want to stay in the hotel but had little options sitting at check in with our bags. We told Jorge. if the hotel cannot honor and recognize that the tariff should not be charged because we have a US citizen who will be paying the bill then we will search for another hotel. Jorge essentially said, good luck, and did not waver whatsoever. We find this to be horrible customer service, he was rude throughout the whole process, and he said he is the top authority on the matter . He then called his boss, and while he was on the phone with his boss, we asked to speak to him, he ignored us, and did not give us the opportunity to speak to a Diego the GM. Upon reading past google reviews, we find that Jorge was rude to other customers as well to no surprise, please check the google reviews for months back from this review from somebody else that had a bad experience and names Jorge as the antagonist. We will never stay in this hotel again and it is because of Jorge. We will let everyone we know about a bad experience, and we will be posting reviews on every forum possible from Yelp to Google to Tripadvisor. .Solution, we stayed one night and checked into the hotel two blocks down.. and guess what , they didn’t charge the Colombian resident tax as we are not Colombian residents. Further more the one night we did stay , we could hear the entire hotel walls are so poorly insulated you could hear people talking . The tub had a leak fromBottom and flooded bathroom , thank god I didn’t trip and break my neck .Again Save yourself from rude staff and pick another place .Noteworthy details: Absolutely horrible front desk staff Jorge . He was rudeness hotel employee I’ve ever encountered and I travelled for work for four years staying at 3-4 hotels per month . DO NOT stay here .
Danielle Erdman: Title NO HOT water and horrible front desk staff . Abominable experience checking in.Recently had the wonderful opportunity to visit Colombia with my boyfriend and his family . I’ve had an incredible trip so far up up until the arrival at the Ananda hotel. Upon check in , The front desk manager Jorge was so rude to my boyfriends mother and myself , I absolutely couldn’t believe it. I don’t post reviews very often, but the experience was so horrible that I feel the need to warn other travelers and save them from booking this hotel. The hotel front desk manager if you can even call him that understands and speaks perfect English but when I asked to speak to his manager Diego that he was on the phone with he completely ignored me and ended his call abruptly with him. We ended up turning a thee night reservation into one night and booked a hotel few blocks away. Thank god because when I took a shower this morning, I come to find that not only is the hotel staff extremely rude, but the hotel does not have any hot water. No hot water in the bathtub and no hot water in the shower. Last night the only night that we stayed here my boyfriend attempted to take a bath and out from underneath the bath water was pouring out and essentially flooded the entire bathroom floor. and he couldn’t even take his bath because the water was cold this morning when I showered, I couldn’t even stay in the water for more than four minutes because it’s not lukewarm it’s not kind of cold. It was very cold. Almost as cold as Jorge’s heart was when we were checking in. Upon reading reviews on Google I found that Jorge has been a problem for other guests as well. The only positive experience we’ve had so far at this hotel was the breakfast service and food was good. But the bathroom experience was quite horrendous and as I previously mentioned, the check in procedure was extremely dissatisfied. As I mentioned above, I am not the reviewer, but I feel it is my duty to contribute to the community and help the hotel owners, as well as other future potential guests know about the shortcomings of this property and staff.Noteworthy details: $600 per night and no hot water and rude staff . Save yourself the bad experience and stay somewhere else . Jorge was the WORST

Alexander Tarrant: We booked a superior room for two nights. We were immediately unhappy with the room - the noise from outside the room was loud, there was no hot water, the toilet didn't flush and there was no natural light.We asked for another room and were told there weren't any available on the first night, but there would be on the second. So we never unpacked.The noise continued until late at night (12am) and we were woken by staff noise (cleaners and pool staff) around 6am. There was also construction noise the other side of the wall that was unbearable.We went to the front desk expecting to move rooms but were told there weren't any available. The staff felt detached from any empathy and we were treated as you'd might expect at a hostel. Totally unprofessional and a very low quality experience.Avoid if you're looking for a pleasant or luxurious holiday.
Bridget Kiley (Bridge): We loved our stay here!!! Great staff, beautiful rooftop views and beds for lounging, breakfast included, really enjoyed the pool at the ground level and top roof level. It can get noisy at night with outside music and rooms opening up to main areas but that’s to be expected. Hope to be back in the future!

Amaury BRIANCON: Very bad experience with the staff at the entrance who was very rude. Jorge in particular. Rest of the the staff was very nice though.We ordered water for the breakfast and they made us pay the bottle without telling us!! The gesture is incredible.Also they market a very nice rooftop with a pool. But it was in renovation and no one told us. They have another small pool but hard to use because everybody was packed there.Having issues happen but the way they communicated about them where very bad unfortunately.

When we arrived we had an issue with our hotel room door not securing, and after we notified the front desk they sent someone and it was fixed immediately. We will definitely be staying at the Charleston again. The location was perfect.

Carolina Ardila: I had the misfortune of staying at a hotel in which I was unable to talk with the manager, and also charged me a tax that is only applicable for residents. Furthermore, they refused to accept my passport as proof that I am leaving overseas. It was an unpleasant experience overall and one I would not recommend to anyone looking for accommodation while traveling abroad.The first issue arose when trying to speak with someone in charge about my reservation; there seemed no way of doing this without having direct contact information or being able go through customer service on site. This made it difficult if any issues were encountered during stay because there wasn’t any reliable source available who could help resolve them quickly and efficiently.The second issue came up when checking in; instead of charging me what should have been due according their policy, they added additional taxes meant only for residents - something which should never happen considering that foreign travelers are exempt from such charges! To make matters worse they then refused my passport as valid proof needed upon departure - despite passports being accepted worldwide as standard official identification documents! The card, the booking and the address of the booking are also from overseas.Overall it has been an extremely unsatisfactory experience dealing with this particular hotel's management team and customer service staff alike; both lacked basic understanding about how these situations are usually handled meaning guests can be left feeling confused or frustrated by their policies . As such ,I cannot recommend staying here unless absolutely necessary given all the problems associated with its services . JR
Gethsemanie Acea: Beautiful hotel located in the center of EVERYTHING. The rooms were spacious and clean. Hotel staff was accommodating especially Raphael. He was a charm. I swear everytime we cam back our rooms had been cleaned with fresh linens and when had out personal items put to the side neatly. The breakfast was very good fill of fresh fruit. Nothing beat the roof top pool with a stunning view. Everything about our stay here was nothing short of amazing.
Jenny Smith: We had an incredible time splurging here for our honeymoon! We are usually budget travelers, so ending our trip with some class and luxury was a real treat. :-) The rooftop wading pool was a highlight and provided incredible views of the city and we were able to experience the most precious colorful sunset over the sea on one of the cloudless nights. The breakfast in the morning was also delightful, with so many unique/local whole fruits to choose from (we booked a room where breakfast was included, which was a great choice). Oh and there were fresh flowers everywhere that looked and smelled incredible! Hydrangea, lilacs, orchards - so much beauty everywhere.We stayed in the newer "Republican" part of the hotel - I loved the lavender colored walls and our shower had the best view of the city. We also enjoyed looking/sitting in the more historic colonial part of the hotel. There is so much to soak up throughout the surroundings, and the location is absolutely perfect - near the Old City wall/lookout and walkable to all of the shops and restaurants in the area. If you want to indulge a little bit during your travels, this the perfect spot to do so. :-)
Maridol Cecilia: The hotel has a good location, but when you arrive you go to the bar and the lady in charge had sports and couldn't authorize music. On Thursday we arrived on Friday we went to have breakfast and they told us that they are going to have a drink. I told her a mango juice yes it is sweet I asked for it with water and my husband with milk it was sour and I asked the young man if he could put milk on it to make it better and he said he couldn't, then we wanted to share a hot pot and I asked him if he could put the scrambled eggs on us The bill couldn't be made then and he didn't even bother, he gave us the bill as if nothing or an apology, much less, but we have a very high opinion of Guillermo the bartender and Marcela thank you very much but I would not return to this hotel 🤔Noteworthy details: I would not go back

Alexander Pinzon: DANGEROUS... UNRESPONSIBLE... I stayed in this hotel in May, my mother suffered an accident around the pool and this hotel does not have trained personnel, nor do they have any protocol for these cases. My mom fell silent and lost consciousness for a few minutes and the lifeguard who was nearby brought me a cream to spread. The lack of knowledge in an accident like this is noticeable, an ambulance was never called to immobilize her, I had to pick her up after she fell and take her to the hospital in a taxi. The result of the fall was 3 fractured ribs and a vertebra. So far I have not heard anything from the hotel or from the hotel insurance company. If you are looking for a safe site with a greater sense of responsibility. do not stay at the hilton in cartagena.

Liegen waren immer vorhanden.Upgrade auf Meerblick als Statusmitglied habe ich bekommem.Die Zimmer sind sauber, modern eingerichtet, auch gut zum Arbeiten ausgestattet.Frühstück sehr reichhaltig, gerade bei den lokalen Gerichten kann man fast jeden Tag was neues ausprobieren. Station für Omelett und frische Säfte.Executive Lounge von 12-20 Uhr geöffnet mit kleinen Snacks, Obst, Limonaden und Kaffeemaschine und durchgehend mit 2 freundlichen Mitarbeitern besetzt. 18-20 Uhr gibt es kleine warme Gerichte, Vorspeisen, Nachspeisen, Bier,Rotwein und Weisswein. Es war bis auf das Wochende nicht überlaufen und hat eine sehr schöne Aussicht.Zu Fuss kann man mehrere Restaurants und Bars erreichen und durch Bocagrande bummeln, Ich habe mich auch abends sicher gefühlt.

Kimberly Guerin: We stayed at the Hyatt Cartagena for a family vacation. Isabel checked us in and was super accommodating. Her customer experience skills are superb.We arrived a couple of hours before checking, she graciously provided a hospitality room for us to change our clothes. While we were out exploring the city, she had our luggage conveniently transported to our room and emailed me. I appreciate the level of service she provided!Rooms: We booked a suite and it was just what we needed; 2 rooms 1 master and 2nd room with 2 twin size beds. Balcony overlooking the water. The pullout couch was super convenient for our family of 5 and the room was spacious.Safety: One of the reasons we decided to stay at the Hyatt was for safety purposes. We have stayed at the Hyatt in other countries and felt extremely safe.I like the idea of having to take 2 sets of hotels to get tothe room. This provides a layer of security bc you gave to go to the main lobby to access the room elevator.Walkability: The hotel is conveniently located in Boca Grande, next to a mall with many shops and in front of a grocery store. It's a couple of mins away via Uber to the Walled City.Food & drinks: We had room service, the food was good and priced reasonably. The drinks by the pool were amazing. We ordered mojitos and they were great!

Luxury, spectacular, spacious rooms with an incredible view, intelligent climate inside the rooms that ensure a restful sleep, the food is delicious buffet and à la carte, there are several restaurants and a pool area for adults and families. Spectacular pool environment with dj that enlivens everything. The hotel is very large, very safe, the attention of all the staff is first class, luxury at all costs. I loved it, I will surely return to the hyatt chain. Highly recommended.

Jay Peralta: I had such an amazing stay at this Hyatt for a 6 day trip to Cartagena. The views are gorgeous, though it is such a shame the beach is being completely rebuilt so during our stay we just saw construction every day by the water. The service was exceptional and the restaurants were all great. All of the pools have a great view and are never too busy.
Yanis & Yei: Here you find healthy eating and gourmet dishes. It has several restaurants open to the public, amacagua and kokaú. Recommended to visit if you are in Cartagena

Tyler Peck: Absolutely loved this hotel. We were immediately impressed by the design throughout. It felt modern, but tasteful and not out of place. Our junior suite had a huge bed, tall ceilings, modern appliances, luxurious shower, and cute balcony overlooking the street. The rooftop pool area was breathtaking. The staff couldn’t be more friendly or accommodating. Only improvement would be thicker windows, but Centro is just inherently loud. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

Other than that, still a great place, but a pity with the breakfast.We stayed here as a family of 5. Everything was fantastic, it was the best hotel we have stayed in so far on our six week trip. The breakfast was fantastic (loved their juices and smoothies), the staff super friendly, the design well thought through, and the service spectacular (they went beyond what you can expect). The only but we have is that the street outside can be noisy at night, earplugs are recommended if you are a light sleeper.

Carmen Morawska: This is such a special hotel. The common areas are beautiful, and it has definitely kept its colonial charm whilst feeling very luxurious.The room was comfortable and well equipped. The only issue is we had a desk semi-blocking the door, so accessing the balcony wasn’t easy. It’s also worth noting that it’s quite noisy at night. Not the hotel’s fault as it’s coming from the street below, but for the rooms that face the road, maybe they could offer earplugs.The shower did not get very hot for very long and the old shower head means the water sort of splatters in weird directions, but it wasn’t terribly inconvenient.The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating.

Our room—#1– was lovely, quiet and peaceful with high ceilings and a large bathroom. The common areas are beautiful and stylish. The rooftop pool was perfect to relax at. But most importantly, the level of service was so good, we felt like we were staying at a private Villa. Every morning, fresh coffee with hot milk was waiting for us before our run. Brittany Mitro: We had the most amazing stay at Casa San Agustin. We honestly could not recommend it enough. We were in Cartagena on our honeymoon and this was the perfect choice for us.The staff was wonderful from the moment we arrived. The doorman helped us on numerous occasions when we weren't sure where to go (e.g., when we needed to find an ATM, or find somewhere for lunch) and was always so friendly. The staff at breakfast were also amazing - it always started our day off well (plus the breakfast food was DELICIOUS). The spa staff were also lovely, and the Passion for Life spa treatment was such a good choice - relaxing and romantic!The hotel itself was BEAUTIFUL - the way they use the original architecture (and the old aqueduct!) and created luxury rooms and a beautiful pool area meant we felt like we got a full Cartagena experience. The little library room where they had tea and coffee everyday was a really nice touch as well.We also took the opportunity to spend a day at their private beach property Acasi, which was a great way to see the Rosario Islands and get some beach-time in a relaxed and private venue. We highly recommend doing this if you are looking to venture out that way!Lastly, the location of the hotel was perfect - right in the centre of the walled city, among a range of fantastic restaurants - it really was the perfect choice for us.

I loved walking through it to see all of the art and design elements.What worked:Nice room upgrade and I loved the space. Well designed with a Nespresso maker and water provided. Lots of space to relax and a two tvs. The housekeeping was excellent and the room was well cared for. Turn down service was very welcome.The security and front door was always visible and they welcome everyone on arrival. Each person I met was kind and genuinely engaged in their role at the hotel.Breakfast was plentiful and some choices came off better than others. Dinner at Alma was quite good and I would recommend it.What needs work:Prior to arrival, I sent no less than 10+ emails to book airport pick ups, tours and dinners. All the messages went unanswered. I called. No one picked up. I booked my own dinners.For the activities, I wasn’t successful at getting these booked. The staff promised to follow up. Never did.I did a walking tour one day.Other than that, I did my own thing.I spoke with Paola and with Gladys. For some reason, the feedback didn’t make Ny measurable difference.The spa service was good but the manager kept trying to upswell me.Would I stay again?Probably not. I loved Cartagena!

John Barros: Well, unfortunately the place is what the reviews paint it to be. The facilities are a bit forgotten and the service is not the best. However, the rooms are very nice and comfortable. I believe that this hotel, with all its defects, fills a need and I even consider that I would repeat it. It is ideal for a weekend getaway where you will have a pool and beach. The price is very cheap so you could say it's worth it. Keep in mind that the beach is not attached to the hotel and you have to leave it, but it is a very short walk.

They have their own access and beach bar. We enjoyed our stay like children, we will repeat for sure!

Estefania Buitrago: It is a perfect place to rest. Relatively far from the city, it becomes a space to disconnect from the noise and bustle, with the possibility of escaping to the city at any time. Its spa and common areas are pleasant and its service staff makes the experience comfortable in its entirety. The fact that it is only for adults creates an atmosphere of independence and tranquility that fits perfectly with a walk with your partner or something quiet with friends. The hotel on the beach is very rich, excellent food at a good price for Cartagena. I would totally repeat the walk in this place.

Verónica Franco: The facilities are nice but the experience was very disappointing. We contracted an all-inclusive service and it had exceptions for all services, it is not a true all inclusive. The attention of the staff was not compromised, they were trying to circumvent the agreement made at the time of booking. For this reason, we did not manage to stay the desired time. I would like you to take this experience into account, so that the same does not happen to other guests.

Although in general all the staff are very friendly and helpful.It is a warm, quiet hotel, and I love the music that accompanies the tours of the place all the time. The beach is very close and it's great, without so many vendors. Highly recommended, their food is spectacular 😋 the spaces are comfortable. Without a doubt, I will return.

Yolima Sanchez: The all-inclusive plan is not really all-inclusive, in the reservation they do not indicate details that when you arrive at the hotel you find and damage the experience. On the page it says that it has 4 restaurants, there is really only one and the one at the beach club has an additional cost.The attention of the staff is very good.

They seem to be doing you a favor when you talk to them.- The wifi only works well in the lobby.- Music all night at full volume, and in the morning from 7, you have some works behind all rooms that make a lot of noise.It's a shame that Meliá has a hotel like this.
