A b: Highly recommend this excursion if you want to escape the heat of the walled city, make new friends, dance to a mix of local and international music, and lounge around in the water. Food was good, crew was experienced and fun, and boat was well maintained. If snorkeling is a priority, make sure to get in line early at the first stop in order to secure snorkeling gear before they run out. We were able to snorkel, but didn't see any marine life on our trip.

Kristin: For the price, worth the experience to enjoy a couple of hours on the water.The sunset cruise included a welcome drink and snack, with the opportunity to purchase additional drinks and snacks. The “cruise” itself circled the harbor area pretty much staying in one area. Most on it appeared on it to take selfies the first half and dance the second half. The music and the staff were nice…. People enjoyed themselves. At the end, traffic at the dock wasn’t organized so crew members were a bit challenged to grab a spot and pull the catamaran in. Because we didn’t go far, it seemed a lot for two hours just to “party” on the boat… Caution walking on the boardwalk as dine boards are missing. Also, many folks selling products and hustling for money around the boardwalk area.

Crystal Vazquez: Wow. We loved it. Easy to book online, prompt departure. The vibes were immaculate. The meal was great for the price paid for the whole experience. If you plan to use their snorkel masks. BRING YOUR OWN MOUTHPIECE or alcohol wipes. They had mold or black dirt. Other than that the ship was clean, beautiful. Servers were so great. On the second stop a worker cautioned me to not leave phones or belongings around the edge of the ship because peddlers who come to the ship to sell jet ski and banana boat rides may swipe them. So be careful for that but everyone on ship was great. Music was AWESOME. Tip the servers they deserve it. Would do this again and again

Greg Hughes: We went on two cruises with Bona Vida, one to the Rosario Islands and as we enjoyed it so much, we also went on a Cartagena sunset cruise.We felt both were really good value for what they were. The catamaran was in great condition, was very smooth and had lots of places to sit. Snacks were provided and on the main cruise lunch was absolutely fantastic - we are vegetarian but we had a filling meal of rice and a huge selection of salad and fruit.Staff were all really friendly and even got involved with dancing on the way back. the atmosphere was so good. Drinks were strong and reasonably priced which definitely helped!The stop at the islands provided the best swimming we've ever had on a boat trip. I don't think there was much to see snorkelling but the water was crystal clear and perfect for swimming.We loved Cartagena so much and these trips were a big part of our experience. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Bona Vida.

S J: We took both the sunset crucero and pasadía to Islas del Rosario. We had the crucero first and the next day, the pasadía. We enjoyed both experiences very much. The service quality and the comfort of the catamaran is superb. The catamaran is very spacious so although there were many people onboard, it was not crowded. We had our own little sofa to enjoy the entire pasadía. The second stop of the pasadía is the best. The lunch provided on the pasadía was delicious. Both the arroz con mariscos and arroz con pollo were beautifully flavored. The snacks provided on both the crucero and pasadía were plentiful and also tasty. My only small criticism is that the pasadía is supposed to include a welcome cocktail but we did not get that and when we asked, were told the jugo de sandía was the welcome cocktail which was a bit strange to me but overall, I would definitely recommend Bona Vida. We speak Spanish but also the staff speak English so it’s great for all travelers.

Kathy Aedo: Muy buena experiencia. Vale completamente la pena si lo que buscas es tener un día de relajo y mar. La tripulación muy amable y atentos a cualquier solicitud. Te reciben con un jugo de natural y ofrecen un snack de empanaditas y bastoncitos de queso, lo que puedes repetirte las veces que quieras. El almuerzo, arroz con mariscos, sabroso y acompañado con un buffet variado de ensaladas. Se realizan 2 paradas a mar abierto, tienen equipo de snorkel y flotadores en caso de que lo requieras. Totalmente recomendable, lo repetiría mil veces!

Las velas permanecieron plegadas y todo el crucero estuvo a motor. Eso fue un fastidio.

Allan Lizano: Es una empresa confiable y responsable. El tour lo conectaron con la guía de Backpackers y fueron muy cálidos en su trato de nuestro tour por las islas. Lo único que recomiendo es que le digan a las personas que en la parada de las baterías, en Boca Chica (si tu tour lo incluye), los lugareños piden un porcentaje de dinero que nadie nos avisó. Nosotros no llevábamos dinero en efectivo y los lugareños nos hicieron pasar un mal rato. No es culpa de la empresa Nexxt Tours, pero sería bueno que aconsejen a los turistas de llevar dinero o no bajarse en esa parada.

Kirsty Smyth: DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY - MY FRIEND AND I BOTH BROKE OUR BACKSI honestly cannot believe this tour group has such good reviews. We went on a tour on the first day of our trip and it ruined our trip. Aside from the tour we went on having being sold as a bioluminescence tour and not actually including that stop, we had a fairly nice day. The beaches we visited were fairly crowded with tourists but it was a nice way to get the lay of the land. Our guide was friendly.However, on the return to cartagena, the water got choppy. The driver had the music on loud and was driving quickly into the waves. All of a sudden, a huge wave came along and everyone in the boat went flying, smacking back down into the floor of the boat. I immediately felt sick, as did my friend, who had heard a loud crack.We had a horrible journey back after that as every bump and wave made our backs feel worse. Luckily for us, another passenger on the tour was a paramedic. He told the boat crew that my friend and I both needed to go to hospital. The boat crew called an ambulance and tried to make us walk along to meet it (any basic first aid training would teach you that moving someone with a spinal injury can risk nerve damage). We were taken to hospital and it turned out that we both had fractured spines (although my friend didn't find out for a further 4 weeks due to a mis-read X-ray - another saga). We were a group of 5 friends in our twenties and this happened on the first day of our trip. I was in Colombian hospital for three days and honestly, it was such a traumatic experience.It turns out that the boat driver tried to tell the insurance company that both my friend and I were standing up (which we were not) so that it wouldn't appear to be Nexxt Tours fault that we were injured.We asked for a refund for my friends and I. Considering, I can no longer do my job, could not enjoy the rest of my time in Colombia and almost couldn't get back home, this felt like a fair enough ask. I have since followed up by contacting members of the company but havent received any compensation. They offered us another free tour (which felt like an absolute joke, particularly as my medical report said I couldn't even go on a bus, let alone a boat), but we havent had any money back at all. Their insurance did cover some of our medical expenses in country but honestly, the company were far more worried about covering their own back in terms of legal liabilities rather than us being ok or having being treated fairly.The whole time I was in the hospital, someone from the boat company was there and making medical decisions for me. I have limited spanish but my friends and I were excluded from discussions and decisions about my health. No one from the boat company so much as apologised for what we had gone through.I have considered suing Nexxt Tours but even writing this review brings us so much stuff that the stress of reliving the experience feels overwhelming. Had Nexxt Tours at least apologised and refunded our tour, that would have been enough but as it stands it has left a really bad taste in my mouth.I don't normally write reviews at all but I really, really don't want anyone to have to go through the experience that we did. I would advise Nexxt tours to create some emergency protocol for bad sailing conditions and to provide basic first aid training to their crew as a very bare minimum. We were not even required to wear life jackets and so had the accident resulted in one of us going over board (which it so nearly could have) the outcome could have been fatal.

I choose the tour due to the good reviews and was SO let down. It was poorly organised from the start.Firstly they delegate the tour to Backpackers, who run the tour for 20 USD less than Nexxt usually charges. So it seems Nexxt just pocket the profit.We wasted an hour in the morning just checking in for the trip. We had to do so 4 different times as different people had different clipboards with our names on them. Then on the first stop at the fort, someone is just screaming facts without rhyme or reason, not allowing for questions or even to hear them properly.Second stop snorkelling, that was nice although sadly not much to see.Third stop a nice beach, but where we had uncomfortable plastic chairs cramped in a group together. Cool beach but we only had 30 minutes before being rushed off.Fourth stop was my actual ideal of hell (see video

Amber W: I booked a Mud Volcano tour in Cartagena November 2022. The night before, they cancelled, but kept my $105.00! There is no customer service email or other contact, only a phone number. I did not want to waste an international phone call and waste more money. I was leaving the next day and they still only offered me to book another tour. This was obviously not possible since I was going back to the US! Rip off, avoid this company. They depend on you not being around long enough to fight back.

Jill Slater: We used Boating Cartagena 3x this week to travel to and from our hotel in Baru and a day trip around the Rosario islands. Each trip and experience was amazing. Omar and Pedro were extremely professional, attentive and always on time and always made us feel safe on the water. We were also told that our boat had the best music in Cholon curtesy of our crew. We will happily use BC again when we are lucky enough to return to Cartagena.

Katherine Everett: Demasiado caro. Debido a que es solo un servicio de bote, lo llevan a la playa pública llena de gente en Barú, llena de vendedores y no pueden atracar en Rosario. Solo para que nos llevaran a la franja más sucia de Playa Blanca donde nos cobraron 50 mil pesos por un paraguas que no queríamos. Tengo la sensación de que reciben sobornos de algunos proveedores y es una estafa. Simplemente compre un todo incluido cuando llegue allí que lo lleve a una playa privada. Mucho más barato más divertido.

Leah Alberti: Boating Cartagena fue excepcional en todos los sentidos! Reservamos un bote de 33 pies para un día de isla en isla para nuestra familia de cuatro. El proceso de reserva fue muy fácil y estuvieron allí para recibirnos cuando llegamos al muelle. Incluso trabajaron con nosotros para reprogramar el barco para otro día cuando mis hijos no se sintieran bien el día que se suponía que íbamos a ir.Teníamos una tripulación de dos y estuvieron muy atentos a todas nuestras necesidades. Nos hicieron pasar un buen rato. ¡Félix, el gerente del barco, fue increíble! El viaje en bote de regreso desde las islas no estuvo mal, como han comentado otros críticos, y tiendo a ser muy sensible al mareo por movimiento. Tal vez fue por el tamaño del bote en el que estábamos y el hecho de que lo teníamos para nosotros solos. Vale la pena cada centavo . ¡Gracias por hacer de nuestro viaje a Islas del Rosario un gran recuerdo para nosotros!

They not only have the most beautiful and clean boats, the service is great because they have a captain and an assistant included that helps you with anything you need.They had a big cooler for our own drinks and also brought us lots of water for the day. On the day of, we went snorkeling, island hopping, and got to blast our music while cruising in the ocean. Our crew was awesome as well, and allowed us to really pick our itinerary. The whole day was super fun. I would highly recommend! It was one of the best parts of our visit to Cartagena.

S J: Tomamos el crucero al atardecer y el pasadía a Islas del Rosario. Primero tuvimos el crucero y al día siguiente, el pasadía. Disfrutamos mucho de ambas experiencias. La calidad del servicio y la comodidad del catamarán es excelente. El catamarán es muy espacioso por lo que aunque había mucha gente a bordo, no estaba abarrotado. Tuvimos nuestro propio pequeño sofá para disfrutar toda la pasadía. La segunda parada de la pasadía es la mejor. El almuerzo proporcionado en la pasadía fue delicioso. Tanto el arroz con mariscos como el arroz con pollo tenían un sabor hermoso. Los refrigerios proporcionados tanto en el crucero como en el pasadía fueron abundantes y también sabrosos. Mi única pequeña crítica es que se supone que el pasadía incluye un cóctel de bienvenida, pero no lo recibimos y cuando preguntamos, nos dijeron que el jugo de sandía era el cóctel de bienvenida, lo cual me resultó un poco extraño, pero en general, definitivamente lo recomendaría. Buena Vida. Hablamos español, pero también el personal habla inglés, por lo que es ideal para todos los viajeros.

Robert Coon: Mi esposa y yo hicimos la gira de Islas del Rosario. Nos habíamos esforzado en elegir esto o tomar una lancha rápida a la playa. Estábamos contentos con esta decisión. El bote es grande y agradable, nuestro recorrido no estuvo muy lleno y teníamos mucho espacio para tumbarnos y tomar el sol. El grupo de nuestro viaje se estaba divirtiendo, pero no era una escena de fiesta loca. El personal era amable y la comida era buena. Tuvimos dos paradas para nadar y la temperatura del agua fue excelente. Recomendar.

The ride was not too choppy even though it was pretty windy. They have plenty of places for shade but you need to remember to reapply sunscreen after swimming. James smith: I had a very good experience with this company in Cartagena.There are many people offering boat trips to the islands and I was very pleased I chose Bona Vida.The Catamaran is superb. It is very well equipped with plenty of seating and sunbeds so you have the choice of being in the sun or in the shade. The bathrooms and wash facilities are very clean onboard also. The bar is open throughout the trip serving alcoholic and soft drinks and the free watermelon juice is a nice touch.Food is cooked fresh and served lunchtime and is of a very good standard. Vegetarians are catered for and you will also have the option to buy fresh fish from the sellers who pull up alongside in their small boats.The boat will stop a few times for snorkeling and swimming. They have plenty of lifejackets if you require one and more than enough snorkel and masks to go around. The swimming is in sheltered safe areas just off of the islands. This trip does not go onto the islands but as the beaches there are so small you are not missing anything.This Catamaran trip is a little more expensive than some of the others but you get what you pay for and I would highly recommend this for a great day out on the water.
