The rum and chocolate tasting experience was an excellent touch. The food was exquisite. The service was outstanding, with friendly and very helpful (and patient) staff. It's a good environment when the whole staff is always smiling, you can tell they enjoy working there. So kudos to management. Highly recommend checking this place out. Make your reservations early though!

Farrah Powell: We spent a day here and took advantage of the day passes that the property offers. They have a ferry that picks up in the mornings, which is convenient. We were welcomed by the staff and taken to our pool lounger. The hotel offers many add-on options for the day passes. We didn't opt for the all-inclusive package. But enjoyed a delicious meal at lunch. The pork sandwich with sour dough was amazing, as well as the ceviche. The cooks here must be applauded. We also had a massage and can report that it was the best 25$ we have ever spent period. The masseuse was amazing. The dj was a nice touch, and the music was a good mix of genres. We had such a good time, and we are hoping to come back for a weekend getaway soon. A day here just isn't enough.

The beach is clean and great to swim and with great views of the sunset. My one feedback would be that there seems to be a lot of promise of activities happening at night for guests on the website but we didn;t get any of this. It was extremely quiet and dead in the evenings. Despite this, I would 100% return in a heartbeat.Also really love their focus on sustainability and you could tell this isn't just a marketing ploy. They have a glass bottle recycling facility in the back, a garden where they grow herbs and vegtables that are used in the kitchen.Tip: book directly through their website and not through third party providers to ensure you get free breakfast included and the boat trip back to Cartagena included.

Al Stankus: Spent three glorious nights at Blue Apple and couldn't have been happier (well the all night Rave at a nearby resort put some unwanted deep bass into the night)The room was huge, the bed and linens top-notch and hot water plentiful.Every member of the staff went out of their way to take care of you...a special nod to Luz and Jorge. And Jessie at the front is amazing.Every meal was truly delicious with highlights being the sea bass carpaccio, fish crudo and seafood paella. The bar makes terrific nights and the wine list is really good.We spent three nights and to spend any less would be a mistake. You really do settle into an island pattern. And book a massage near the beach.

The only negative was that we booked a bed on our second visit they said there was none available when we arrived so we had to sit on regular loungers. But that was deducted from our bill so not the end of the world. We went to a few beach clubs in Cartagena and this was probably my favourite one!

I stayed in this hotel in May, my mother suffered an accident around the pool and this hotel does not have trained personnel, nor do they have any protocol for these cases. My mom fell silent and lost consciousness for a few minutes and the lifeguard who was nearby brought me a cream to spread. The lack of knowledge in an accident like this is noticeable, an ambulance was never called to immobilize her, I had to pick her up after she fell and take her to the hospital in a taxi. The result of the fall was 3 fractured ribs and a vertebra. So far I have not heard anything from the hotel or from the hotel insurance company. If you are looking for a safe site with a greater sense of responsibility. do not stay at the hilton in cartagena.

Es war bis auf das Wochende nicht überlaufen und hat eine sehr schöne Aussicht.Zu Fuss kann man mehrere Restaurants und Bars erreichen und durch Bocagrande bummeln, Ich habe mich auch abends sicher gefühlt.

The big pool in the other building was closed my whole stay. The other reviews about the absurdly loud music are correct, they play music so insanely loudly on the roof for some reason. If there was some kind of event going on I could understand, but the music is like this all of the time. It is so loud that it’s impossible to just chill by the pool or even talk to someone. No social vibe at all, filled with older people working which is kind of expected at a Selina. My room was filled with Israelis who would wake up at 9am and start yelling to eachother. Overall horrible experience, and definitely not up to the Selina quality standard.

This Selina is the WORST hostel experience I've ever had in my life. Book somewhere else.---When we arrived at 6pm after a 14-hour travel day, their reservation system was down and they told us to just wait. They didn't do anything or offer anything in the meantime. We just wanted to shower, so I had them grab a few towels for us. I've worked in a couple of hostels during my travel days, and the least you can do is greet people and welcome them with some water or a dang towel when things aren't working. They were, however, super concerned about me paying, even though they couldn't get us to a room for over 1.5 hours. 😂We stayed in a Micro room with a shared bathroom. Luckily, we didn't have mold or bed bugs, like other reviews have shared... but the room was super humid and dank. No fans or circulation other than the AC, which would have been fine...But part of the city lost power and Selina's generator isn't powerful enough for the building. No lights or AC (or any way to circulate the air) from 2am-7am. I went down to reception four times during these hours to get updates and ask for a different room. There were other rooms where the elctricty was working. Ours wasn't. They refused to move us. We only were able to sleep from 7-11am, missing our included breakfast, so we had to go buy breakfast somewhere else.Half of the people at reception are always in a bad mood, stressed, and as if they can't be bothered. When I went to buy a water, the guy just shoved the card reader towards me without speaking. When the "tap" didn't work, he just shoved it closer to my face to show my it was refused. Didn't offer to try the chip. I feel like I had to guide everyone at reception to help them do their job better. Zero customer service skills, and it's not a language barrier.Upon check out, I told them we wanted a discount on the first night, as we didn't get anything we paid for. We couldn't sleep. We didn't get AC or power. We weren't allowed into our rooms until 7:30pm. Nothing went well. They refused and only offered a 10% discount after 15 minutes of conversation. Said their manager was in a meeting and they had to charge me.For $40 USD/night for a tiny, humid jail cell where the door brushes against the bed when you open it, this place is a total scam.Nobody ever responded to our WhatsApp messages either. It’s linked in the Selina app but nobody bothers to get back to you.-Bathrooms are moldy and not clean (no circulation or fans).-Toilet paper regularly ran out (shared bathroom) and nobody refilled, so I went to get some.-Music is obnoxiously loud in the lobby at early hours and all day at the pool. If you are a light sleeper, good luck.The only good thing is the food at the restaurant is actually pretty good and has some vegan options, just a bit pricy.

Zoom was occasionally unstable.Most of the reception staff was friendly.An aesthetically pleasing place when not paying attention to details.Cons:My partner and I had a private room with a shared bathroom. The cleaning staff cleaned the bathroom everyday but it was more like straightening up instead of actually decently cleaning. The toilet and sink for example kept the same amount of gunk on them. But when the shower drain started to clog they did help with getting it to drain properly.The coworking restroom could be cleaned a lot better. I tried to avoid touching the walls. More toilet paper could be provided as it frequently ran out. Sometimes the water wasn’t running in this restroom. The trash bin was not conducive to putting toilet paper there while using the toilet.When we first got there we were put in a room that was hard to breathe in. We felt like it had something to do with mold. We saw that the AC unit was dripping and covered in a black substance which we assumed was mold. We were thankfully moved to another room.It looked like a lot of mold was covered with paint and there was no proper ventilation to really prevent it in the bathrooms.One day we saw some staff inspecting a bed that looked like it had bed bug blood stains on them near our room so that caused some anxiety.

Geneviève Bolduc: This is a great option to get out of the city without going too far. It is a Beach Club, so expect loud music and a ‘party’ atmosphere. But it is not too much. We enjoyed our day, the service was great, the place looks good and the food and the drinks are super. When we left, we waited a loooong time in the boat for people in the boat, that was a bit of a downer, but it is the beat!

Jairo Levi: It was refreshing to be on a beach in Cartagena without 10000 vendors trying tp scam you. The place felt very safe, excellent service and awesome Prosecco (I could not stop buying Prosecco from them lol)My only two suggestions would be to have better food, maybe a whole fried fish, or a steak. Also the boat was speeding on the way back from the club, so the ride was very bumpy, not the way I wanted to finish this awesome experience at Amare

Alexandra Betancourt: A must in Cartagena, they have a very very good menu, different from what you find in a beach club and of very good quality. The atmosphere is great, good music and a very nice place. Just 10 minutes from Cartagena. If you are a tourist it is the perfect place, because you can have an experience like a real local.

Emma Backup.: It's really quick to get to from Bocagrande and the boat journey was definitely one of the better ones we went on to Tierra Bomba. The staff were friendly and the food and drinks were nice. Good music too! There was no shaded area we could sit in so we ended up leaving early because the heat was too much for us. Unfortunately the wifi wasn't working and there's no phone signal at that part of the island.

Enzo: Netter Ausflug, die Bedienung war freundlich. Das Ambiente war allerdings nicht sehr schön, man könnte mehr machen aus dem Club. Essen war lecker, aber die Portionen sehr klein. Leider konnte man den Strand nicht richtig mitbenutzen. Außerdem kamen Straßenverkäufer in den Club. Wenn sie auf der Suche nach einem 1a Beach Club sind, empfehle ich den Marlin Beach Club.

Anna Hoffmann: We had an absolutely lovely day at Amare and Pablo (the owner) was an amazing host. The pool and facilities were all super and the food very good (organic/locally sourced). Peaceful atmosphere and great to get away from it all. When our separately pre-arranged transport didn’t show up, Pablo took us along on the boatride back which was a great experience - make sure to book transport directly with Amare/ Pablo as it will be chaper and more reliable! We would highly recommend going there as it is a really cool club which also cares about sustainability!
