Cartagena Connections: what do users think?
Katie Fisken: Cartagena Connections is such a fantastic way to see the city and experience the local culture. Kristy is incredibly knowledgeable and experienced in all aspects of the local community and that shines through on her tours! I attended the street food tour and I cannot recommend it enough! If you're wanting to dabble in street food and learn the local ways then this is the tour for you! More broadly Cartagena Connections is the one stop shop for info on all of the best spots in town!
Kristi Vanskiver (Whisky Wanderlust): Kristy was an amazing guide and extremely helpful when trying to accomodate our vegan friend on the street food tour. There is really limited options for a vegan but she really made us all feel welcome and included. She is a wealth of knowledge on history and culture of Cartagena and makes the information fun and engaging. I really couldn't recommend the tour more. It's way more than just a food tour!
Matt Gould: Went on a street food walking tour and I cannot stress enough how amazing it was! A brilliant way to see the city, learn about its history and culture, AND eat amazing food. Kristy's energy is infectious...the food is delicious...and the city is beautiful. What's not to like?!
Sandy Kidd: Wonderful tour ! I did the street food tour, we tried plenty of stuff and also learned a a bit more about Cartagena's story. Highly recommend it !
Samantha Foster: We had booked a private street food tour in cartegena. Henry was amazing. He took us to multiple food carts and had us try the most amazing food, all while giving us great history of the city and different neighborhoods. It was the best part of our stay in Cartegena. Highly recommend this company!!
Hinga: If you are a person visiting Cartagena for the first time, Cartagena Connections is a must. Tour guide Daniel was awesome. He is very knowledgeable and he makes you feel at home. I would definitely recommend CC. If you want that local Dominican experience ask for Daniel.
Rose Zu: We took the street food walking tour, and we highly enjoyed it! The tour guide was friendly and accommodating (I had forgotten to mention my mango allergy at registration like I was supposed to). We were introduced to the local favorite stalls and spots that we never would have found on our own. Delicious tour, and we got to take some great photos of the colorful neighborhoods. Highly recommend the tour and this agency!
Valentina Calabrese: You arrive in Cartagena and book a tour hoping to know something about the city and its history. then you meet daniel and you not only know the story, but you feel the energy of the people, you experience the community firsthand and for this we thank him very much. he passed on his passion and love for cartagena to us! we highly recommend it!
Justin Friedrich: We booked two tours with CC and had fantastic experiences at each one. Planning our tours was hassle free and communication through WhatsApp was quick.Daniel showed us around the Bazurto Market, he shared history while showing us the market, sampling local fruit, snacks, and some hidden gems. We finished with lunch, which was some of the most delicious food we had during our trip to Colombia. We also booked a private boat tour of the Rosario Islands, where Ana helped coordinate our day and itinerary. She made everything so easy and since our group speaks very limited Spanish, she was well appreciated through out the day.Everything worked out so well, the guides were excellent, these two tours exceeded our expectations and were the most fun activities during our trip to Colombia!
Hollie Evans: What a cool experience! If you're lucky, Dan will be your guide. A super cool local with great vibes. He will take you to spots that you would otherwise walk right past and not notice. He will take you to try 2 types of arepas, empenadas, deditos and much more, beer included! Not only will you taste great food, Dan also tells you about the people, music, art, dance and history of cartegena l. honestly one of the best food tours we have been on, thanks so much Dan!
Greg Isaacs: We enjoyed an excellent street food with Daniel who is a rockstar! We learned about the history of Cartagena, tried 5-6 foods from street food vendors and toured several incredible neighborhoods. Would highly recommend. Thank you, Daniel.
John Smith-Ricco: Highly recommend the street food tour. Dan was an excellent guide for our private group of nine. Good mix of food, tour, history lessons. Also gave us a chance to see and explore some less “touristy” parts of the Old Town and Getsemaní
Anna Christine Brennan: We really enjoyed this food tour - plenty of food, although not as much as others I have done - you will still need dinner afterwards. We really enjoyed ourselves and Dan was great.
Luis Gracia: Great way to get to know the lesser traveled parts of Cartagena and especially AUTHENTIC food. I 100% recommend this tour, especially with Dan, his local energy and swagger are unmatched!
Larisa Tyshkevich: Sent an enquiry from the website about a transportation option to the Aviary. This option is clearly detailed on their website. The response I got via email was about the tour including beach time, lunch etc. I replied saying that I was not interested in the tour. They said fine they would look if the transport was available. Never got back to me. Update your website if not offering the service and don't waste people's time.
Elizabeth Grewe: Had the best experiences with Cartagena Connections! They set us up with a coffee tasting at Cafe Del Mural that completely changed how we thought about coffee. Unforgettable, delicious, very educational. Then we did a market tour with Dan, he was so friendly and knew the maze of the alleys and stalls well. Definitely go with a guide. Dan had great vibes and helped us buy produce. He made sure we got to try local juice and fruit and surprised us with a souvenir at the end, a customized poster from a local artist. Communication with March at CC before, during and after the experiences was friendly, responsive and helpful. Recommend working with them for all sightseeing and touristic needs!
Joyell Arvella: Terrible customer service. I received a response to my interest in the horse riding experience and never heard from anyone after that. I sent multiple emails confirming the experience I wanted, asked if it was still available and never heard back from anyone. Do not waste your time with this company. There are better ones in Cartagena.
J. C. M: We did the street food tour with Kristy, which was more of a street food + walking + history tour all rolled into one. Kristy was super knowledgeable about Colombian culture, the murals, the off-the-beaten-path neighborhoods, and everything in between. Highly recommend!!!
Katie S: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueCartagena Connections made my experience traveling to Cartagena solo amazing !Kristy is very responsive, informative , and ensures everything runs smooth!
Meredith Was: We spent two half-days with Kristy exploring Cartagena, and the experience was 10/10 excellent! We loved her tours because it feels more like a friend/local is showing you around the city, with insider info and local experiences, rather than a canned "follow the umbrella" tour. She knows all about the history of Cartagena and shares thoughtful insight, as well as conveying her love for what makes Cartagena so special! I'd absolutely recommend Cartagena Connections to anyone visiting this city!
Michael Müller: We had the steet food tour with Kristy and we were absolutely amazed by it.Kristy, living since years in Cartagena, does not only know all the best places to get street food, she also knows a ton of stories about the city itself, the different cultures, the current situation and how the people make their living, about murals, and and and...So this tour is not really about "the city was found in xy bla bla" but about the little details and also about how things and city spots are connected to the history and the people. The food itself was delicious and more than plenty. I did not count but we had like ten snacks, fruits and drinks. But warning: You need to be into fried stuff and cheese but when you are you will love this experience.

Lunático Cooking Studio Cartagena: what do users think?
Jennifer Lastra: What a beautiful experience. I am Colombian and I learned a lot about our beautiful gastronomy. Chef Jazminne and her team were very professional. The kitchen studio has a spectacular view. I liked it so much that I came back at night to learn and taste Colombian craft beers.
Francine Smith: EXCELLENT experience. Delicious food. Chef Maria is the best! Our group of 10 had plenty of space and everyone had their time to shine. This is a must do for those who love food and learning new things.
Tessi Romell: Today was AMAZING, in every way possible and using all senes.Starting the day with the market together with knowledgeable, funny, charming Andres was one of a kind experience. Thank you so much. The cooking class with Maria and Andres was super exciting and they made us feel so welcomed and at ease and what we cooked was so so nice to eat. Really professional.Me and my daughter (14) and my son (21) all feel high after this day and the 360 experience.Massive thank you 🙏🏻
Cameron White: Maria’s cooking class was fantastic! She took her time with us and was patient as we learned cooking techniques and asked lots of cultural questions along the way. I highly recommend this experience in Cartagena!
Ava Floyd: The chef is fantastic, engaging, and genuinely enjoys teaching creative and delicious recipes
Merissah Gilbert: We did the cooking tour and the market experience and it was absolutely spectacular. Highly recommend booking!
Brittany Mitro: Doing a the market tour + cooking class with Maria was our #1 favorite thing we did while in Cartagena. The market tour was such a unique experience - we wouldn't have ever done it by ourselves (chaotic wouldn't begin to describe the markets) but getting to meet the vendors and try so many fruits we hadn't ever heard of beforehand was a fabulous experience. (Also, if you are nervous about going to a busy market like this, I wasn't nervous at all with Maria - it was clear she knew what she was doing and where to go for the friendliest vendors. Everyone was just busy going about their business, and it was actually surprisingly clean and fresh smelling too, except for the fish & meat area of course)Then the cooking class itself was such a great experience. We love going to cooking classes and do it in a lot of places we travel to, but this one was unique in that we were all (about 8 of us plus Maria) cooking one big meal together. This meant that we got to learn how to make a ton of different things and each contribute as we went. The food in the end was delicious (mote de queso, ceviche, and the posta negra cartagenera) - the best meal we had in Cartagena - and the venue was really cute and fun.We recommend this as an experience for everyone traveling to Cartagena! Would do it again in a heartbeat - thanks so much Maria!
Melissa Twohey: Highly recommended!
Jane Schneider: Daughter (age 17) and I did a market tour and cooking class with Maria. The market tour was an experience we will always remember. Maria showed us an amazing experience; trying foods we would never have tried otherwise, explaining the history and importance of the food market and laughing the entire time. It was fabulous. We then went to the studio for a cooking class This was so much fun, amazing food and truly a spectacular time. Thank you to Maria and the entire Lunatico staff.
Karla Curiel: siempre al pendiente la comida nos quedó deliciosa, recomiendo mucho la clase yo tome las dos clases disponibles y sin duda volveré.(Translated by Google
Terance Mcleod: Let's start out with the extraordinary views that you gaze upon while inside of this absolutely beautiful studio. The decor and vibes are unmatched. Upon arrival the have everything laid out for you and makes you feel like your in your own home about to cook a wonderful dinner. The attention to details and directions that our chef Jasmine gave us were outstanding.SHE WAS WONDERFUL ❤️❤️❤️ ❤️ ❤️ I wish we could’ve rated this place 20/10. If you’ve never done a cooking class or even if you have I’d highly recommend giving this class a try and putting it at the top of your to-do list while visiting Cartagena, Columbia. ❤️ ‼️🤙🏾✊🏾
Manuel Ferrero III: Exceptional Cooking Experience with Chef Maria Delgado at Lunático Cooking Studio!I recently participated in a workshop at Lunático Cooking Studio, and I can't recommend it enough! Chef Maria Delgado's passion for food and her ability to teach complex techniques in an accessible manner made the experience both enjoyable and enlightening. The studio itself was immaculate and well-equipped, creating the perfect environment for learning. Chef Maria went above and beyond by allowing me to use her space for a conference call after the class, showcasing her incredible hospitality. If you're a food lover looking to elevate your cooking skills, Lunático Cooking Studio is the place to be. I eagerly anticipate returning to try more of Chef Maria's delicious dishes – especially that heavenly coconut rice!
Tommy A: Did the ceviche class and it was very fun and informative.
Roy Kulick: A wonderful cooking class. Andres was clear, funny, and professional as we made our lunch, which we then enjoyed with wines. We also took the optional tour of the market, which was an eye opening experience.
Camille Makepeace: This is my first cooking class ever and it was a great experience. Andres, our chef, is very knowledgeable about the local cuisine and friendly to all. It was nice to meet fellow travelers from all over the world. I highly recommend this to do while in Cartagena and escape a bit of the heat !!We were given the recipes to take home and try .
Lachlan Perry: Maria is an excellent, experienced and intelligent chef. She can speak brilliant English along with Spanish.Cooking in her class was engaging, intriguing and eye-opening, as well as worthwhile, because the food was delicious. If you're in Cartagena, you need to book a class with her!
Sonia Noemi Romero: OMG!!! Amazing chef Delgado was terrific. Very attentive and knowledgeable. There is a saying, “Patience is a virtue” you will find Chef Delgado's picture next to it. I recommend beginners to professionals to go to her studio, Lunatico cooking Studio, the experience is just sublime. Spectacular !!! But my favorite food was coconut rice….wow….
Aneta Iwaniszczuk: Amazing experience. Amazing recipes.great staff. Loved it!
Allison Outhit: I loved touring the enormous Bazurto market with Chef Maria. We bought everything we needed, then returned to her bright, modern teaching kitchen and made a delicious meal. It was great fun, well worth the cost.
Nicole White: Awesome Experience. One my favorite parts of visiting Cartagena.
Brian Peck: What an experience! Chef Maria and her team were incredible to learn and cook with. Taking this cooking class is such an intimate way to learn about Colombian culture, and really connect with the food. If you've never taken a cooking class, don't hesitate to book immediately. Top notch service, knowledge, and we felt so welcomed in a new country. 3Thank you Chef Maria for an experience we'll never forget.Later in our visit, we had Tapas for 2 at the restaurant. HOLY SMOKES was it delicious! Probably the best food I've ever had. 5+++++++ stars!

Crazy Salsa, Salsa School: what do users think?
Sharom Andrea: We had so much fun during our class and having Esteban as an instructor was a great experience. He was very friendly, patient and thorough explaining the different steps, how to lead and how to follow. My friends and I would’ve come back if we were to stay longer in Cartagena ❤️
Aline aline: Me diverti bastante. Fui 2x
Katja Rissmann: We had 6 private sessions with Ruben and loved it! Would highly recommend as we learned so much and enjoyed the process :)
Emily Barrett: My husband and I did a 2:1 private class - we had never danced salsa before! Great teacher, we had a lot of fun & learned the basics. We wished we had longer to do a course!
Serena Romagnoli: My boyfriend and I paid for private classes. He had basically zero knowledge, me some basics. Ended up having a teacher just to have someone counting 1-2-3 5-6-7 for us while looking at herself on the mirror. End of it. End of her contribution.Sure she gave some directions to my boyfriend - so basic that I would have been able to do the same for free.Given me and my boyfriend had 2 different levels, I didn’t learn anything new.Cherry on top, we started late to look for the A/C remote but didn’t get the time back at the end. And to be honest, given the kind of experience, I wasn’t too sad.I read many positive reviews, I’m sure that if you take 14 h lessons they make a better investment on clients. But this is not private class, this is a nice and colorful tourist trap.
Karin Goetz: Guter Salsa-Unterricht
Charneice McKenzie: This is feedback for the school:The jump from beginner to intermediate was too much. Even the intermediate private lessons to the group lessons was a big jump. I am a dancer. I have been a dance instructor. And I wasn't getting the steps. The instructor...who is very nice...showed us 4 7-count sequence all at once. That was too much to remember! Then, without all of us having the hang of the steps, he went on to add another 7-count with a spin. I walked out. I wasn't having fun and I didn't want to pay for confusion. It felt like the Aunt Viv situation on Fresh Prince of Bel Aire. I'm just in Cartagena to have fun. Not compete at a high-level dance studio. My suggestion is to introduce 1 7-count sequence at a time. Observe if the students have caught on. Then add to it. Go at the pace of the students. No need to rush. I did have fun in the private lesson.
Lea Helfenstein: We took a private class for Salsa Cali style and Champeta. The teacher Natalia was excellent! We recommend it a lot.
Sandy Wolf: I took 14 hours of private lessons in 4 days! I wanted to level up my salsa and Bachata skills on my Cartagena vacation, and that's exactly what Crazy Salsa School did for me!I was so lucky and happy to have Esteban and Ruben as my own private teachers. Those 4 days were full of fun and challenges as my teachers customized each lesson to exactly what I wanted to work on and their assessment of what I needed to learn. Both of these guys encouraged me through my frustrations and were as excited as I was when I would finally get the steps we were working on. They were endlessly patient and encouraging, and incredibly skilled at unlocking the slight but important little changes to make to help me successfully do the steps. These teachers got me to do moves I never thought I could do. Not all great dancers can teach; these guys (and also Natalia, who taught a great styling lesson) do both brilliantly. And the owner, Esmeralda, was incredibly responsive and flexible with scheduling. She allowed me to schedule according to what my plans were the next day. Reasonably priced, wonderfully taught, Crazy Salsa should be your Cartagena dance home!
Heena Patel: Excellent Salsa class with a bar tour to practice afterwards. My instructor Esteban was amazing. He explained the steps well. We then went to two bars and were joined by another instructor where we practiced what we had learnt and had a few free drinks along the way.My only recommendation would be that it might be good to have a female and male instructor at the bar to help both genders practice.Would definitely recommend this Salsa Tour!
Guadalupe Maria Daldoz: Some geniuses! I took a very good class with Esteban and then I took the tour with Ruben, super friendly and safe on the tour, I went alone and I had a lot of fun.
Tue Nguyen: Is the school open?? Couldn't find the place. Not where it's supposed to be according to google maps
Joanna: I was in Cartagena for a week and I took private classes with Esteban- Salsa and Ruben- Bachata. I absolutely loved it they are very professional but at the same time we had so much fun while dancing. I’ve learnt a lot thanks to them. The easiest way to communicate with them is by WhatsApp 🤩
Ryan DuBois: Great school! They were very responsive and accommodating and I received a great lesson.A very good school! They responded quickly and the class was great.
Ji Pei: Me and my wife Had a great lessons.Instruction is very clear and we definitely enjoyed the experience
Raya Dzulynsky: Great private salsa class with Esteban. He was clear with his instructions and very patient with our questionable dance skills.
Deregnaucourt Jeremy: I had some courses there.Unfortunately, due to construction work, there was no way to have group class. There was a misunderstanding with the administrative assistant about the price. With 5 individual lessons taken, you got a 6th one free.Since I paid them individually, she declined this offer. I would have appreciated more flexibility as the credit cash machine was not functioning and I was keen to pay everything with my card. Also, this same person gave me my last course. I did not feel in confidence with her. She was judgy, having an attitude that does not favor to be relaxed.Despite that, I had Ruben, and this guy is incredible. A great teacher and a very funny guy! Go ahead with him without any concern :)
stellina Luna: Where is this place? I love to go but I can’t find it! It’s not where google maps says it is and the people around there have no idea what I am talking about! 😆Pls someone send some better directions
Manu Manu Negrete: It's a great place to learn how to dance Salsa ..they got expert teacher .
karina carrasco arredondo: Exelente lugar muy buen maestro Rubén lo rompiendo 100%
alwayscoco1984: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueI had 6 classes with Mauricio, he was a fantastic teacher! He made learning salsa very fun and interesting! The hour class always pass by too quickly because it's so fun! Highly recommend Crazy Salsa in Cartagena! Hope to come back and continue the lessons with Mauricio in the future :)

I asked for a free cover and the waiter charged me as much as he wanted, they do not bring any type of invoice and before charging I ask myself if I did not speak Spanish, then I felt that the price changed because I am a foreigner. There is no live music. There are many mosquitoes. I left feeling robbed. It ruined my night.

Quiebra Canto: what do users think?
johana Cubillos: Good music,However, the place fills up very late, like 12 at night.
Madelin Arroyo: Bueno pero malo. 1.. Y después tomé otra foto a la 1:37am cuando acabó la orquesta y cerro el lugar...básicamente sin gente...Very quickly.. the guy in the front told us no cover before 10pm so we got there 9: 44 and he did charge us cover (20mil pesos per person). He said the band started at 10 which is why the cover, but they didn't play until 12am and played 33 minutes, then came back at 1:15am. I recommend Donde Fidel where there's no charge and the drinks are cheaper and there is more people dancing! Go there first because they close at 1:30am on friday then come back to Quiebra Canto. Their orquesta and dj plays good music but no people to dance with, they mostly go watch. They close at 1:30ish.
Stefany García Téllez: Es un buen sitio para oír y bailar salsa en Cartagena. Muy recomendado.
Jorge Mario Salcedo Mayorga: Muy buena Salsa
Alan Benn: No live music but the DJ played great salsa tracks and granny danced when no one else was up. Pricey drinks but the music and city view from the balcony are good.
Alvaro Piraquive: They sold us adulterated brandyAfter the cost of the bottle is highThey sell adulterated brandyAfter making the claim for the adulterated brandy and they did not give us a solution After the fact they charge for a service that is a bad place
Roger Triana: Salsa, live music, good view, still valid
AESC: The best for dancing
Margareth Herrera: Excellent music, good service, excellent atmosphere!
Maria Lida Corredor: I loved it, I was with my family theSeptember 2, 2021. We had a great time, the music was excellent; we danced all night 💃🏻🕺🏻♥️♥️♥️
Mauricio Vega: Excellent music and view a little expensive prices
Diana Pao: A place with very good music. For lovers of sauce.
Ruben Espinosa: excellent to share
Diana Martinez: A good place but they need to enable credit card payment since for now they only have cash.
Dolly Muñoz: A place to enjoy a good salsa... those of us who like it are fabulous, its decoration, its attention and its wonderful music
Rodian Vargas: It's not something from another world, it's just a bar
Jesus Patino: The best party of my life, my birthday in November must always be there until before I die.
Karen Yizet: A beautiful view of the Clock Tower.
Johan Miguel Asprila Gutiérrez: Not only good music is heard, movies are also shown
Patricia Alvarado: Always a great place.
Edita Sørensen: Hyggelig, stemningsfuld sted med salsa musik
