Bastión Luxury Hotel: what do users think?
erika samaniego: The rooms are beautiful. The pool looks so much bigger in the photos, in reality it was small and one family with kids can take all the space of it. However they have a lot of space to sit and sip some drinks at the rooftop. The staff was kind and helpful. We arrived very early and left late in the afternoon and were allowed to remain in the public areas of the hotel and they held our bags while we explored some more of the city.Rooms: Big and cozy, nice view from balcony and great showers.Nearby activities: So many good restaurants and bars within walking distance. Getsemani is about 15-20 mins away walking.
James Lammerding: Truly wonderful experience. Jorge was very welcoming and attentive to everything I needed during my stay. Front desk staff was very helpful.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Tim Cummings: Excellent hotel within easy walking/Uber distance to most sites/shopping/restaurants. Staff was great & most spoke some English which was helpful because of my limited Español.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Luxury …More
C Woods: Stayed here for 7 days. Rooms are big and comfy. Tile floors so bring your slippers. Bathrooms are nice size. Showers are great. They have nice products in the bathroom. They offer a nicebuffet breakfast in the restaurant but you can also get made to order breakfast. Lobby is nice to kick it and chill but depending on when you go, you might become a buffet for mosquitoes. There is a room next to the outdoor lobby area and it's comfy and a great place to hang out. The rooftop pool is amazing and the views from up there are phenomenal. Pool area is the perfect place to hang out and drink. Internet connection could be spotty at times but wasn't too bad. Front desk was very attentive to any of our needs. Staff was extremely accommodating. Nice hotel to stay at inside the Walled City.
Erica Chew: We spent 5 spectacular days there. The pool was great and the sunset views were stunning. Jorge gave great recommendations of things to do in town. Jordan helped find us reservations and hooked us up with a great walking tour with a local, Aura. Highly recommended. Only thing that I didn't like is they wouldn't heat up my leftovers. I had it in the fridge and was so excited to eat it the next morning but couldn't.Walkability: Great location. Everything in the old town was about 15 min walk max.
Craig R: Great location with full breakfast included. A full spa. A short walk to most parts of the city. Rooftop pool/bar with amazing service (Janner/Jorge are the best!). A quiet oasis away from the busy city below, with its own unobstructed sunset views.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view, Quiet, Great value …More
ANJLI SHAH: My husband and I stayed at Bastion for 4 nights. It is definitely not a “luxury” hotel for following reasons- as soon as we were allocated a room we realised the air conditioning unit was not working. The workmen did come and sort this out.We then realised our sink was getting clogged up and the water was not draining. This caused a sewage smell in the bathroom. We did let the manager know about this and he assured us it would be dealt with whilst we were sight seeing. Nothing seemed to be sorted. After 2 nights of sleeping in this room and finally making a fuss at reception they did change our room as they said the sink problem could not be sorted. However the second room we were allocated had a broken toilet roll holder, broken tiles on the bathroom floor, the shower wasn't draining quick enough hence was overflowing, the room telephone wasn't working. We did complain to the manager but he didn't seem to be too bothered. The room was definitely not fit to be allocated to a guest.- Breakfast was mediocre for a 'luxury' hotel! There were insects (fruit flies) all over the fresh fruit and the staff didn't seem to be bothered by it.The hotel is in a good location, slightly away from all the hustle and bustle but yet close enough. However I would recommend other hotels in the vicinity which are probably cheaper but have better service and rooms.
Maria Hernandez: 10/10 I would definitely come back and enjoy it again. From the decor to the service every details is thought to make it specialFood & drinks: The ceviche is amazing
Laura Patricia Támara Muñoz: Excellent service and attention. We marriedIn the Santo Toribio church, and arrive walking to the church. Very convenient they decorated the room on the wedding night and they were very special
René Francisco Torres Jugo: The hotel is excellent to spend a few days and get to know Cartagena from the walled city. It is very well located. The hotel is not ostentatious luxury, very nice to relax in a quiet environment. The staff is very polite and oriented to make things easier. The truth is that it is a characteristic of Cartagena, everyone is very helpful and cheerful.
Mo Gourrier: We had a great room next to the courtyard! The pool upstairs was wonderful with a bar and plenty of seating. The gentleman serving us by the pool was very friendly as well! The food and drinks were amazing.

Lorena LM: Absolutely amazing hotel, a truly 5-star experience! Staff are incredible and go out of their way to make sure your stay is pleasant. From Jesus welcoming special guests to the mayordomos (thank you Rudy, Diego, Amaury and Armando!) and everyone else in the hotel. The facilities are stunning and full of history and the food is amazing in all restaurants. I highly recommend the restaurant 1621 for amazing fine dining! Can’t wait to go back one day!
Vilma Barrios: I had lunch with my family, excellent attention, service and food
Karen McNeill: This place is worth every penny! The people are beautiful, welcoming, and most of all kind. The rooms are a little outdated, but for the most part you don’t spend a lot of time in your room. The hotel has everything you need and it’s conveniently located to shops and restaurants. The staff goes above and beyond to accommodate you. I highly recommend this place. They nailed “customer service”! I will return!
Luchy Cuentas May: Simply, the best place at all times... I highlight the warmth and simplicity of its collaborators...Food & drinks: Las habitaciones, sus áreas, su gastronomía, en fin todo es excelente. Es un lugar muy completo.
Gustavo Enrique Soto: Excellent menu served by high-level professionals
Juancho Arcilla: It was a flawless lunch. Pate of black and green olives, capers and anchovies on bread.Exquisite seafood casserole accompanied by Viognier blanc wine.Excellent prices

Barbara Olvera Muñoz: Beautiful property! All the staff is very professional, attentive and kind. My family and I had an amazing time during our stay. Kids loved the pool and the restaurant hostess were just lovely with the kiddos.Looved the selection at breakfast. During evening time staff performs a beautiful ritual lighting candles around the hotel, honoring its historical tradition of the claustro. Everything is link to its rich culture. So easy to walk around and get to know the walled city and the beautiful streets!

Kimberly Guerin: We stayed at the Hyatt Cartagena for a family vacation. Isabel checked us in and was super accommodating. Her customer experience skills are superb. We arrived a couple of hours before checking, she graciously provided a hospitality room for us to change our clothes. While we were out exploring the city, she had our luggage conveniently transported to our room and emailed me. I appreciate the level of service she provided!Rooms: We booked a suite and it was just what we needed; 2 rooms 1 master and 2nd room with 2 twin size beds. Balcony overlooking the water. The pullout couch was super convenient for our family of 5 and the room was spacious.Safety: One of the reasons we decided to stay at the Hyatt was for safety purposes. We have stayed at the Hyatt in other countries and felt extremely safe.I like the idea of having to take 2 sets of hotels to get tothe room. This provides a layer of security bc you gave to go to the main lobby to access the room elevator.Walkability: The hotel is conveniently located in Boca Grande, next to a mall with many shops and in front of a grocery store. It's a couple of mins away via Uber to the Walled City.Food & drinks: We had room service, the food was good and priced reasonably. The drinks by the pool were amazing. We ordered mojitos and they were great!
Jay Peralta: I had such an amazing stay at this Hyatt for a 6 day trip to Cartagena. The views are gorgeous, though it is such a shame the beach is being completely rebuilt so during our stay we just saw construction every day by the water. The service was exceptional and the restaurants were all great. All of the pools have a great view and are never too busy.
Yanis & Yei: Here you find healthy eating and gourmet dishes. It has several restaurants open to the public, amacagua and kokaú. Recommended to visit if you are in Cartagena
Nearby activities: Dit hotel is heel centraal gelegen.
Alejandrina Peralta Cambumba: Excellent place, attentive staff, helpfulRooms: hermosa vista, limpia, comoda
Henry Rugeles: Just amazing! Expensive, though! However, the beach across the street is closed under construction.Rooms: Feel and decor of a mid-town Manhattan high-end apartment. Hi tech. Full of modern amenities.Nearby activities: Next to a mall, but very not much else within walking distance.Safety: Super safe. Front desk @ 11th. Floor. Switch to guarded different bank of elevators to access rooms. Need room key to go just to your floor.Food & drinks: Breakfast is amazing. Excellent d'oeuvres and coffee in the conference rooms area.

Shrimp Ceviche (Best in Cartagena ): what do users think?
Izara Maité Mondragón Moreno: Food: 5/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 1/5More
Esteban Rodas Arango: I dream of one day having the opportunity to eat a ceviche there again!!Simple, but as I remember them from my childhood!
Devin V: It was okay, not great not bad
Diana Gallego: I loved!
Joseph Jukopila: The best shrimp cocktails in the north zone, I have lived in Crespo for 32 years and there is none that surpasses them.
Jorge Mario Hernandez Torreglosa: The best Ceviche
KATHERINE LEON: The best shrimp cocktail in Cartagena, leaving the airport since 1975
Zulima Rojas: It is good despite being very dry
Gabrielle J: I followed the recommendation of a white taxi driver who insisted on taking us because it was "the best ceviche". We arrived at the place, three plastic chairs, not very fresh shrimp and very ordinary sauce. There were homeless people next door and the atmosphere did not feel good at all.For the same price the night before we ate a delicious one in the walled city in a very nice restaurant where the ceviche came fresh and presentable, prepared in front of us, not like in this place. It was by no means the best ceviche in Cartagena.
Edilma Arcos: delicious seafood... recommended
Joel Arias: The best shrimp ceviches and seafood cocktails.
Al Derecho: Excellent shrimp
ANDRES VASCO: Close to the arrival of the airport, it is recommended to try it upon arrival and before leaving, the portion that I suggest for one person is 15 thousand pesos, you can try to order two seafood, I tried this cocktail-ceviche in other places but this is the best of the city, with 15usd 2 people eat, very good service and fresh products
Cristian Serra: The best ceviche in Cartagena
Calidad Droservicio: The best in Cartagena without a doubt
Alejandra Botta: In my childhood, every time I came on vacation with my family, we always ate shrimp cocktails in this place, they are the best I have ever eaten and the best in the city.
Vick G: Very rich ceviche, very well served according to my beautiful Mexico dear, when I was there eating

Plaza de los Coches: what do users think?
Diego Bautista: Very crowded very nice to take pictures with a lot of history of this city
Jose Toledo: A good place to walk and relax, with a lot of historical content about the city.
Luis Vinas: Emblematic place in Cartagena. The place to start the visit to the old town.
Luis Anaya: Cute, neat, safe, great photos
Gajan: Plaza de Los Coches is a charming place to visit during the day with beautiful scenery and horse-drawn carriages. The perfect spot for a leisurely stroll. At night it becomes a hot spot for a pretty active night life which can be super fun. However, it's important to exercise alot of caution during the night as tourists and visitors are always oftenly targeted for robbery. Visitors should be wary of pickpockets and chain snatchers. Street vendors have been known to change the price of drinks mid-transaction and work in cahoots with the criminals. It's important to keep a close eye on your belongings and stay alert at all times.
Bernhard Dambon: Sehenswerte Altstadt. Leider keine Kutschen zu sehen.
Julio Rodriguez Rodriguez: Good
Jorge Díaz: Plaza de los coches, a lonely place in the morning.
Jiri del S.: Very nice area and district. However too many annoying pushy barkers (guessing shops will have a way better business, if theyll calm down).
Disyyaliani Gonzalez: Spectacular 👌
José E. Anderson: Simply beautiful day or night always cute
Camilo Franco: As always, this square is beautiful, very central to the historic center
Martin Aguayo Salas: Once you pass the arches under the Clock Tower, it is the starting point of a tour through the history of Cartagena. Where formerly slaves were sold, today it is still a place of commerce. Sweets, exchange houses, bars, clothing stores and much more. There is the monument to Pedro de Heredia, founder of Cartagena, and it is the corner of Calle de las Carretas from where the horse-drawn carriages depart for tours of the city.
David Caballero: Main access point to the city. You will pass by here several times on your visit to Cartagena. If you are a lover of sweets, do not miss the stalls in the arcades
C. Daniel Miranda Salgado: Christmas lighting 2021, in the Plaza de los Coches.
Thomas 7: The Plaza de los Coches is an area where you can hire the famous cars to do the tourist tour in a beautiful horse-drawn carriage. It is one of the great attractions of the city and it is somewhat romantic.
Orlando Sanchez: Very good party and tourism atmosphere
Carlos Andres Cabarcas Marquez: It is the Room of my Cartagena.
Laura Garzon: Spectacular
saudy lorena goenaga muñoz: A magical atmosphere ❤️

Javier G. Santos: Mixed feelings. The place is living history. In what is now a souvenir shop, you can see the impacts of English muskets. You sit in watchtowers where Blas de Lezo himself designed the defense of Cartagena and, therefore, access to current Latin America from the English invaders. You can look at the sea from the fort defense quote supposed that today the entire south of that continent is Latin and not just another British colony. There, 2,300 Spaniards broke 24,000 English, assuming the end of the English hegemony of the seas... But... It is so full of stupid tourists, taking pictures in every corner, climbing historic canyons that they are forbidden to climb. .. In short, if you are a lover of history, it is a must. But you have to go at noon, when the horde of tourists is crammed. Otherwise, you feel too sorry for what those brave men gave their lives to defend.

Hotel Caribe By Faranda Grand: what do users think?
Jose Mejia: Very nice and with a good location in front of the beach
Katherine Brown: Very few housekeeping, reception and food service staff speak English and those who do speak English it is very limited. Took 3 days to get face towels in this establishment. No one understood what I was asking for. Another reviewer talk about buffet breakfast was limited. Yes it is limited no it does not have American food options appeal. Signage not clear during breakfast, trying to order food from menu during lunch or dinner or even a cocktail was difficult due to no English speaking staff. Had to have Spanish speaking translator app. The facility itself is nice clean and Family resort type setting.
Marco Garcia Rojas: Very good service and its rooms are very comfortable and spacious

Camilo de Molina E.: Great hotel. Excellent service. They care about every single detail. If you go to the bar ask for the Fizz Del Este cocktail.
Beige Matthews: Everything about this hotel is absolutely lovely and gorgeous. The location is spectacular and the staff is the best I’ve experienced in a very long time. The grounds are perfect and having Alma as the in-house restaurant is an absolute treat. If you want the boutique feel, but with luxury - no questions asked, this is the place to stay.
Brittany Mitro: We had the most amazing stay at Casa San Agustin. We honestly could not recommend it enough. We were in Cartagena on our honeymoon and this was the perfect choice for us.The staff was wonderful from the moment we arrived. The doorman helped us on numerous occasions when we weren't sure where to go (e.g., when we needed to find an ATM, or find somewhere for lunch) and was always so friendly. The staff at breakfast were also amazing - it always started our day off well (plus the breakfast food was DELICIOUS). The spa staff were also lovely, and the Passion for Life spa treatment was such a good choice - relaxing and romantic! The hotel itself was BEAUTIFUL - the way they use the original architecture (and the old aqueduct!) and created luxury rooms and a beautiful pool area meant we felt like we got a full Cartagena experience. The little library room where they had tea and coffee everyday was a really nice touch as well.We also took the opportunity to spend a day at their private beach property Acasi, which was a great way to see the Rosario Islands and get some beach-time in a relaxed and private venue. We highly recommend doing this if you are looking to venture out that way!Lastly, the location of the hotel was perfect - right in the centre of the walled city, among a range of fantastic restaurants - it really was the perfect choice for us.
Alison Rooney: Just left the property after staying for a week. I booked with FHR. The hotel is beautiful. The design and focus on Colombian history was gorgeous. I loved walking through it to see all of the art and design elements. What worked:Nice room upgrade and I loved the space. Well designed with a Nespresso maker and water provided. Lots of space to relax and a two tvs. The housekeeping was excellent and the room was well cared for. Turn down service was very welcome. The security and front door was always visible and they welcome everyone on arrival. Each person I met was kind and genuinely engaged in their role at the hotel.Breakfast was plentiful and some choices came off better than others. Dinner at Alma was quite good and I would recommend it.What needs work:Prior to arrival, I sent no less than 10+ emails to book airport pick ups, tours and dinners. All the messages went unanswered. I called. No one picked up. I booked my own dinners. For the activities, I wasn’t successful at getting these booked. The staff promised to follow up. Never did.I did a walking tour one day.Other than that, I did my own thing.I spoke with Paola and with Gladys. For some reason, the feedback didn’t make Ny measurable difference. The spa service was good but the manager kept trying to upswell me.Would I stay again?Probably not. I loved Cartagena!
Alexander Tucci: Horrendous Administrative Service - Our inability to reach the hotel led to an unfortunate situation where the administration refused to refund our payment or provide any flexibility for a future visit. It is strongly recommended to stay away from this place under all circumstances.Rooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 1/5 …More

Christiam Enrique Fischer Vargas: Boutique hotel in the walled city of Cartagena with a colonial style and a lot of history, excellent service from its employees
Beba: Excellent attention from the bar, the guys are super friendly and attentive... we didn't stay, we just went for a few drinksFood & drinks: Excelente
Megan Boling: My boyfriend and I booked a couples massage and it was absolutely incredible! We've both had massages from various places and agreed that this was the best massage we've ever had. The facility was beautiful and immaculate. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Ciaia, Yerenia, and Ludy were amazing and made the morning so special for us. We definitely plan on coming back and hope to be able to stay longer at this hidden gem!
Ganesha Thirumurthi: A truly wonderful hotel. The ambiance is lovely and very peaceful. The staff are incredible - so helpful and kind. Special thank you to Katherine, Andres and Edgar. If you are considering staying here we'd highly recommend it. It lives up to the great reviews.Deep tissue massage in the spa was also wonderful and the setting is very relaxing.I proposed at the hotel and the staff couldn't have been more helpful.Highly recommend Casa San Agustin!
