I'm able to have spontaneous conversations with locals about a host of topics, considering I only did four weeks of classes, starting from zero. I was worried that doing well in classes wouldn't carry over to the real world, but that has not been the case at all.The classes themselves were really enjoyable. My teachers were great, the other students were great. We cracked plenty of jokes while still learning new grammar and vocabulary.The school was very helpful when it came to logistics as well. I literally enrolled on a Friday afternoon for Monday morning classes. Also, the school allowed me to print documents and received a package for me.Cannot recommend this school highly enough.

Lucy Golding: I would highly recommend Ecos as your choice of school. The teachers are excellent and they take the time to make sure you fully understand what is being taught. There are free activities 3 times a week where you can learn more Spanish, find out about the local culture, and interact with other students. At the end of each week you have an interactive session with the other students, in which you play games to improve your vocabulary. If I ever come back to Cartagena I would definitely return to Ecos.

The teachers are all very motivated and you learn very quickly in a short time. There is a test in advance to determine your own level. In the mornings there are joint lessons with up to 4 other students. Individual lessons in the afternoon if desired. Super clean premises, great activities 3 times a week in the afternoon and great employees. Clear recommendation to anyone who wants to learn Spanish.

John Edison Muñoz Cardona: Great place to get your PADI certificates. The location is very convenient, I did my training with Alvaro, a very patient and friendly guy that helped us through the diving process. They were very attentive at the beginning with the theoretical lessons, always making sure you completed all the requirements. The only aspect for improving is the social media since the communication was a bit rude at the beginning, probably without intention, but could be missinterpreted.

All the groups on the boat were small and set according to experience.Special thanks to my dive master, when we finished my first dive, I still had a lot of air (other diver was a big air consumer) so the dive master went only with me for another shorter dive ( about 20 minutes). Of course we end the dive above safety level at 600 psi.

Nigel Bouckley: This is a five star resort for a reason. All the staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and profesional in their conduct of training. Safety is important to them and during my last two courses with them I felt safe and assured that they were looking after my welfare.The dive sights were interesting and varied and they catered for the abilities of those on the boat, often having several instructors / guides leading the various groups.My instructor for the week was Santiago, who spoke very good English as well as being a good communicator under water.I will definitely be back this year for more dives and learning - thank you all.

Danielle Osfalg: I really enjoyed and had a great time with this company. First of all, the owner Juan made it so easy to sign up and all the paper work etc was easily accessible via internet. He and staff was also kind enough to pick me up from a boat I was on and bring me back because we had a dinghy problem. The dive masters were extremely helpful and friendly and spoke English and took very good care of us before, during and after our diving experience. The most important was the safety of each person and and they observed and paid good attention to everyone s needs. We did 2 dives at the island of Baru (which was a short distance from Cartagena from Nautica Marina ) and both were very different and interesting. First one was a lot of marine life, fish , corals etc but the second one was even more interesting with the addition of a sunken shipwreck and some cool objects covered in barnacles ( which i don’t want to give details so not to spoil the surprise) . On top of that i did not have a camera and my divemaster not only guiding us thru and paying attention to safety but also made the day unforgettable with the beautiful pictures he took of us during our dive session ( which i will share some here and THANKYOU again! You rock! 🤘🐬😘).So from my point of view I highly recommend Juan and the scuba team . Thank you guys!! I hope to visit Cartagena and find you again for some more fun diving adventures! Till then..

They helped me tremendously because I was planning this from Dallas, Texas and I had to put a lot of trust in them. My trust was not misplaced, they were incredible!! Andrew Hatcher: This was perhaps one of the best tours we've ever participated in, anywhere in the world!We were picked up at our apartment by one of our hosts, Angel, and then driven out to the Bazurto Market to buy the ingredients for our lunch. This would have been worth the cost of the entire tour alone - the market covers a vast area, teeming with locals buying and selling goods of all kinds. Stepping into its maze-like interior is a little intimidating (especially if you're not fluent in Spanish!), but no worries - Angel guided us through the various shops and stalls, stopping to get us some tasty samples, shopping for produce and fresh fish, greeting various friends and acquaintances, and all the while providing us with all sorts of information (about the market, Cartagena, Colombia and a bit of his personal biography.Leaving the market, we then drove to his family's home in the Andalucia neighborhood. We were greeted there by his lovely wife, Maria, and her assistant, and then began preparing our meal. Our hosts made sure to keep the conversation flowing when they weren't instructing us, and, over the course of three hours, we all got to know a bit about each other (and, of course, Colombian cuisine!). With such pleasant company and plenty to do, time flew by and, seemingly before I knew it, it was time to eat!We were joined for lunch by Angel and Maria's son (I am SO sorry, but I can't recall the young man's name just now), a college student and very friendly young man. We all ate our delicious home-cooked meal together, and continued our great conversation throughout. When we were finished, we said our goodbyes (but not before they gave us a special parting gift!) and Angel and his assistant drove us back to our apartment in the Centro district.We spent about 9 days in Colombia, and I would say that this was the most enjoyable, most educational and most rewarding experience we had during our time there. I cannot recommend this tour (or any tour with Duran Duran) highly enough!

Patrik Holmberg: This is the worst experience I have ever had with a tour company anywhere in the world.We booked everything for Playa Blanca the day before at their office and continued talking to them over text messages during the night to confirm our pick up.Today, when we arrived the pick up wasnt there and they couldn't give us a new one. Apparently a public holiday today, something they did not tell us yesterday.We had to ask for every bit of information, or search for ourselves. No information was provided by the office/staff. They even tried to put the blame on us by saying we booked the wrong time, but in reality they gave us two different pick up time to choose from.The service was bad and it felt like they did nothing to make the situation better, like ordering us a taxi or something to fix the issue they have caused.I do not recommend using them at all, a time waster and bad experience.

Steve Tadevich: We booked a private tour with Duran Duran for a group of eight. Booked the tour in January of 2018 and pulled into port early April. Everything was excellent, from the time we were greeted coming off our cruise ship until we were dropped off at the conclusion of tour. Knowledgeable guide, interesting stops, an air conditioned van. Cost was better than what the cruise line offered and from what I understand it was far superior. I highly recommend Duran Duran.

Guilherme Ruiz: The beach itself is not very nice. Crowded, with little sand, full of jet-skis and boats. We paid 70,000 pesos for a round trip with lunch. The food was average and the cutlery and plastic plate. We fled to other beaches on the left, and stayed somewhere else, otherwise we wouldn't be able to enjoy it. It's better than Boca Grande beach, but it's not great. I wouldn't go back unless I went to one of the private beaches at hotels and Beach Clubs.

Simon Hiemer: Better than expected. Beach is little more White and water more clean than boccagrande . It's easy and fast to go there i recomend it if you stay more days . If you walk a little bit you can find also a relaxing spot. People were friendly and less than in cartagena beaches. For sure no paradise beach but good enough for a big city.
