Instead of following a line for who gets to go upstairs, they’ll let their friends(?) and couples first. If you’re with a bigger group, forget about it. Which is insane bc we would have brought the most money. And when you question they’re super rude! They tried telling me it was bc I had gotten there only 15min prior. Hm, no sir! I have eyes and saw all these ppl who just got here after us get upstairs before us. And again, being super rude and condescending. Anyway, I left and then had a blast at Invissa (super recommend instead of this overtly hyped place).

I've travelled to many countries and tried out hundreds of different bars. This one takes the cake. My favorite drink here is the "Rosarito." It is arguably the best cocktail i've had!The staff is super accommodating and the drinks are sublime.

Steven Heath: We had a great time at El Baron tonight. Angel was our waiter and was so outgoing and kind as he explained the menus and made suggestions on what we should order. He has a great background story of how he came to be in Cartagena from his hometown as well.We ordered a couple of tapas - Ceviche de la Casa and Croquetas de Res. We liked both but were especially enjoyed the Croquetas. The drinks were great as well. They have a wide selection of options.There is only a small inside section but a large outdoor seating area if there’s nothing available inside. The only benefit of inside is the air conditioning.

Manav Khandelwal: Our favorite meal in Cartagena by far! The setting was beautiful with an outdoor courtyard and indoor air conditioned tables. The service was fast and generous; they brought us an extra small appetizer and an extra dessert that were both fantastic and on the house. For food, we loved everything we got: the ceviche, the Al pastor tacos, the burrata salad, the brisket, and the pork belly. Everything was just out of this world especially the pork belly. Portions are fairly even between entradas and mains.
J. Savage: Carmen is not safe place for people of color. I was shocked and saddened by my recent visit to Carmen of Cartagena . It was especially disappointing since we had a positive dining experience at theMedellin location. We knew weren’t welcome from the minute we entered the restaurant. The female hostess made it clear from the moment we walked in the door that we weren’t welcomed there. I was shocked and sadden because Carmen highly recommended. I was in awe because she was a women of color. America has it issues, but it is rare that i am disrespected by someone that looks like me. I want my racism the good ole fashion American way by folks that don’t look like me. I recommend that people of color patronize establishments where your money is welcomed. This is not Carmen of Cartagena. Kudos, to Mar y Zielo for getting it right. Also, kudos to the male host that tried his best to accommodate our party. I would return if I could deal with him. Again, avoid Carmen of Cartagena. Stick to the the one in Medellin.

Johanna Villegas: I visited during rainy season, so beware- it can be quite hot in the evenings. The restaurant provides bug spray but when making your reservation, their system does not specify that you may choose from an Air conditioned area or not. Keep this in mind and ensure you follow up with the restaurant to ensure you get the area you want.Overall, the service was fabulous. The food was good enough. I will not be back but I recommend you check it out at least once.

Alison Rooney: I had the opportunity to dine here during a recent trip to Cartagena. There is a lot of buzz for this spot. Reservations require a credit card be several follow up messages. I chose the 7 course tasting with wine. I sat outside on the patio. The service began with finesse and attention and sadly finished on the clumsy side. The courses are small and the pairings range from a local beer to a wine with peppermint. Some of the dishes were quite outstanding and the flavors were complex. Some like the chickpea dish fell flat for me. The server doing the wine pairing was rushed and never took time to discuss the wines. I enjoyed the experience and the chance to take part in a space that is unique and deeply rooted in the home city.
Hector Camero: We dined at 7 times. The experience was unique. The attention of Juan Carlos unsurpassed. Only in restaurants with Michelin stars have I eaten at this level. Do not stop coming if you are in Cartagena.

I ordered a seafood dish, which came with shrimp, mussels and octopus. Delicious! My partner ordered a beef specialty, and she liked it plenty. We started with empanada appetizer, which I also recommend. They brought yuca bread on the house. Our server was very friendly and answered all our questions. I would return.

I recommend ordering several to try. The food I recommend going in groups and thus sharing the different dishes since it is very difficult to choose which has been the best, they are all worth it.The attention and order when providing the service is impeccable. A veces se demoran mucho en llegar a la mesa para realizar el pedido o llevar la cuenta. La segunda vez que fui tuvieron un error y agregaron 10 gaseosas mas de las que habíamos ordenado, entonces estén atentos a los detalles al momento de pagar.La comida es deliciosa. Los mariscos son frescos, las verduras también y todo huele exquisito.El lugar es muy fresco y ameno, sin embargo, al ser un lugar abierto, puede que hayan moscas aquí y allá.Este también es un imperdible en Cartagena.

O lugar é super bonito com ótimo serviço, comidas gostosas e boa música.Passei um dia incrível, aproveitando a piscina e a praia, além de presenciar um pôr do sol lindíssimo!O único ponto negativo é que você tem que pagar até para ficar nas espreguiçadeiras junto à piscina ou na praia, mesmo que os lugares estejam vazios… Seria interessante que esse serviço já fizesse parte do valor do day use e só fosse cobrado um valor a mais pelas “camas” .
Farrah Powell: We spent a day here and took advantage of the day passes that the property offers. They have a ferry that picks up in the mornings, which is convenient. We were welcomed by the staff and taken to our pool lounger. The hotel offers many add-on options for the day passes. We didn't opt for the all-inclusive package. But enjoyed a delicious meal at lunch. The pork sandwich with sour dough was amazing, as well as the ceviche. The cooks here must be applauded. We also had a massage and can report that it was the best 25$ we have ever spent period. The masseuse was amazing. The dj was a nice touch, and the music was a good mix of genres. We had such a good time, and we are hoping to come back for a weekend getaway soon. A day here just isn't enough.

Adriana Withers: We had a great time at the resort until a staff member booked a motorbike tour for with a hotel guide, told us that this was the safe way to see the island and we could take a phone for photos, and the guide then set-up a situation where we were robbed. The hotel took no responsibility/refused accountability. If you're up for a pool party, great, but I wouldn't trust their recommendations/tours or for them to take responsibility if anything goes wrong.Safety: Put in a situation that was unsafe.

Isabela Murillo: Can't say enough wonderful things about this hotel. Everything was perfect. The rooms, the food, the staff, the service and the location. The beach is clean and great to swim and with great views of the sunset. My one feedback would be that there seems to be a lot of promise of activities happening at night for guests on the website but we didn;t get any of this. It was extremely quiet and dead in the evenings. Despite this, I would 100% return in a heartbeat.Also really love their focus on sustainability and you could tell this isn't just a marketing ploy. They have a glass bottle recycling facility in the back, a garden where they grow herbs and vegtables that are used in the kitchen.Tip: book directly through their website and not through third party providers to ensure you get free breakfast included and the boat trip back to Cartagena included.

Al Stankus: Spent three glorious nights at Blue Apple and couldn't have been happier (well the all night Rave at a nearby resort put some unwanted deep bass into the night)The room was huge, the bed and linens top-notch and hot water plentiful.Every member of the staff went out of their way to take care of you...a special nod to Luz and Jorge. And Jessie at the front is amazing.Every meal was truly delicious with highlights being the sea bass carpaccio, fish crudo and seafood paella. The bar makes terrific nights and the wine list is really good.We spent three nights and to spend any less would be a mistake. You really do settle into an island pattern. And book a massage near the beach.
Emma Backup.: We really enjoyed our time at Blue Apple and ended up coming back for a second day. It's a good vibe and the staff are friendly and quick with service. The only negative was that we booked a bed on our second visit they said there was none available when we arrived so we had to sit on regular loungers. But that was deducted from our bill so not the end of the world. We went to a few beach clubs in Cartagena and this was probably my favourite one!
Ad Dub: We went there on a day trip and really enjoyed it. The best thing was the food and great service. Overall worth what you pay for. The boat was 20-30 mins late to get there.
